+Learn Korean with KoreanClass101.com hey, when you write the word on the screen you should give a little more time before you say it so we can have a chance at reading it before you say how its read. :) other than that... GREAT LEASONS.
'ㄱ' is more of a G sound like in "giggle", except just a little harder. It's like if K and G had a baby. And 'ㅋ' is basically a K sound like in "key". It's easier to distinguish sounds like that when you can tell the difference between musical notes that are a half step apart. Like if you went to piano and played a white and black key that are next to each other, and could tell which one was higher/lower, that would help a lot with learning these sounds.
For people that are new, the main difference of ㄱ and ㅋ is this If it’s 가 its pronounced as ga If it’s 카 it’s pronounced as ka In the video she used 기 (gi) and 키 (ki) Thats why they sound the same :)
To clarify, the ㄱ sound is more like a soft "Ku"or "Kk" but add a little spit into it, and if ur having trouble whisper it until u like the sound you have. The ㅋ sound is same slight spit-whisper thing, but more of a soft g than a k so more g than k...but still some k. The ㅎ sound is basically an h. Although, instead of the way we pronounce it in English like "h-uh" it's more like that same slightly-spit- whisper "Hu" Hope this helped a bit. ^ ^ I know it can get confusing.. +Josh Binder No, they're not. It took me a while to figure it out. At first they sounded the same to me, but later I realized that the first one is a g, but not a strong g as in English. By that I mean you gently vibrate your vocal chords. The second one is completely voiceless. Listen to it carefully and you'll notice it too.
+Mateus Cruz i disagree, its never a g. koreans dont have something like g. g is a natural outcome of ㄱ in the middle because of stress, but by itself there is no g in hangeul. but at the front it definitly is a soft k by all means.
I suggest people like me to download "write it korean" app to understand pronunciation better. As i am finding pronounciation difficult for similar words.
I’ve learned more from these 4-minute-long videos than in 3 Duolingo lessons, definitely a languge that is better learned with someone actually speaking and teaching you the basics
im new to Korean language and i think it is much more easier than Japanese. i gave up learning Japanese because the alphabets are very difficult especially the Kanji. As for Korean it is a bit confusing when it comes to the pronunciation because most of the letters sounds alike, same like Arabic, some people find it hard to distinguish between ح and ه or ز and ذ
hahah thats so funny. for me both are easy but i find japanese easier. Kanji is a total pain in the ass though haha for me japan pronounces things like in spanish so thats the main reason its easier plus i memorized all of hiragana and katakana. Since my friend is learning korean i decided to join her so id have someone to work with and also i wanted to learn korean badly anyways hahaha. since i was a kid i wanted to move to korea or japan lol

I paused the video lol . but I am gonna continue watching this . I was really happy that I pronounced it right . It can be a little matter for others but for me its like I won a lottery .
I pray to god that whoever is reading this comment stay blessed . [sorry for my english . it is not my first language ]
No, you're not the only one. But it's smart to write it all down and practice and revise. Having it in one place and in your own words makes it easier to learn and remember. I'd say everyone should be writing and practicing if they're seriously learning the language.
owwgaaahd.. I'm confused AF. I was fine with the first 3 lessons. LOL.

No cause why is this the first lesson that has actually helped me READ the words and get as close to the pronunciation as I ever had before. Amazing video, thank you

Been 3 years, how did it work out for you?
@@seez6963 Oh honey, I gave up 3 years ago haha. I also attempted to learn Thai, German, and French. Needless to say, neither of those worked out either. I'm too all over the place to commit to basically anything at this point.

I focus on learning Korean more than my Majors. And you know why?? To be able to understand BTS's vidoes without subtitles and understand their lyrics deeper

This is really helpful .
I'm just on here to learn for myself but I got influenced by BTS, many kpop groups and singers and also Kdramas😀
The difference between ㅋ[kʰ] and ㄱ[k] is really confusing for English speakers. Most of us hear them as [kʰ] and [g].
Ight I was doing great up until now

I just love the simplicity of this course in 2020. Hope that u do too. Stay safe !
I wanna be multilingual, so since I learned Spanish I'm learning Korean!

I don't understand when you said
가 you said kah but when you put 카 you said kah too 0:
+yi taeman I think it's more a G sound.
Yeah they're obviously using the 'K' sound for both but I don't think they realize it...hahah
You've just said the same thing in different words.
These lessons are so much helpful...I'm loving it😃😃
I'm learning korean only for bts . It's okay how hard it is surely I will learn 💜

How's y'all hangul journey so far ?
I suggest people like me to download "write it korean" app to understand pronunciation better.
As i am finding pronounciation difficult for similar words.
Thank you so much downloading now I feel these videos rush on teaching pronunciation. x
I’ve learned more from these 4-minute-long videos than in 3 Duolingo lessons, definitely a languge that is better learned with someone actually speaking and teaching you the basics
I hope you put subtitles for the pronunciation! But still, thank you. I learned a lot. 😊
im new to Korean language and i think it is much more easier than Japanese. i gave up learning Japanese because the alphabets are very difficult especially the Kanji. As for Korean it is a bit confusing when it comes to the pronunciation because most of the letters sounds alike, same like Arabic, some people find it hard to distinguish between ح and ه or ز and ذ
Muhammad Farhan don't give up in japanese I'm doing both of them at the same time and I have never given up!!
In speech japanese is easier than Korean, although Korean writing system is the easiest in the world
hahah thats so funny. for me both are easy but i find japanese easier. Kanji is a total pain in the ass though haha
for me japan pronounces things like in spanish so thats the main reason its easier plus i memorized all of hiragana and katakana. Since my friend is learning korean i decided to join her so id have someone to work with and also i wanted to learn korean badly anyways hahaha. since i was a kid i wanted to move to korea or japan lol
Arabic is easier with alphabetes in my opinion.
My language is tamil... And its really easy for me to compare this with tamil and learn fast!!!
These videos are really helpful thank you ^.^ I'm going to surprise my Korean friend when I get good enough :) Can't wait for her reaction lol ;)
Dante z She's going to be impressed! Thanks for studying with us!

+Julie Ann Sanchez please tell me the difference between ㅗ and ㅓ??? The sound is the same right? Both have the 'O' sound So whats the difference?
Ruvini Priyadarshani ㅗ is more of an o sound and ㅓ is more of an aww👍that probably didn’t help at all but ye✌️
Diffence between 흐 and 호?!
And difference between ㄱ and ㅋ.. I'm so confused..!! Both sound the same..
I'm interesting in Korea writing...I'm starting to learn...thank you Hana Hana Hangul...and Amy..the way you teaching us is very clear ...thank a lot...🙏🙏🙏
OMG being slav helped me out here because
ㄱsounds like к
ㅋsounds like ќ
ㅎsounds like х
but to make it easier for yall english speakers
ㄱ-very soft g
ㅋ-like the letter Q without the yu at the end
ㅎ-like the h in horrible it's a strong H
Thanks, also slav.Btw what language do you speak?I dont have ќ and х,but the part for engilsh really helped

Hi the lessons are really amazing
The pronunciation is not difficult for me because of my native language "Bengali"
It has many similarities in pronunciation which helps me to differentiate those. words

these are like puzzle pieces, so easy! and fun and quick!
For the consonant 'kiok' = ㄱ
Some Koreans make it sound like 'g', while you make is sound 'k'.
However, I think you are right because the consonant 'ㅋ' sounds 'khi' so according to the vowel rule ㄱ should be ki.
But, why do some Koreans make it sound gi, please can you answer so it might clear my doubt once and for all.
Thanking in anticipation.
Thanks sister for helping me out with this language love to learn Korean 🇰🇷
thanx that helps alot, but you have to give us enough time to read the example word before you say the unser :) !
Sorryyyy :) Ill tell the video team x
Mina Chan yes i was thinking that
For those who are confused i hope this helps:
ㄱ-g
ㅋ-k
ㅎ-h
thanksss :3,
I literally read comments before watching video . Lots of them find it difficult but again i will make it easy for Indians . ㄱ (क) , 가 (का), 기(की) , 구( कू), 고 (को) ,거 (कौ), 교 (क्यो) , 갸 (क्या) , 겨 (क्यौ) , 규 (क्यू) similarly for ㅋ (ख) ,카 (खा) , 키(खी), 쿠 (खू) , 코 (खो) , 커 (खौ) 켜 (ख्यौ) , 캬 (ख्या) , 쿄 (ख्यो) , 큐 (ख्यू ) and for this ㅎ(ह) , 하 (हा) 히 (ही) , 후 ( हू) 호(हो) , 허 (हौ), 효(ह्यो) , 혀 (ह्यौ) , 햐 ( ह्या), 휴 (ह्यू) and for those who don't know hindi vowels better just copy those letters in brackets ( ) and translate it and listing will help you to understand better . Hope it will help you ❤️
