- Director of R&D, David Llewellyn outlines the key updates to Mizuno's 'Tour Speed' iron - the Mizuno Pro 243. More compact and precise than its predecessor, yet faster from the face and more satisfying at impact. Improvements in performance only made possible through the long-term relationship between Mizuno's R&D team and its exclusive Grain Flow Forging plant in Hiroshima, Japan.

I have owned two sets of Mizunos, JPX850 and now MP4s with satin wedges. Nobody will be disappointed with the clubs. The 243s look great.
Looking forward to trying these !
Talk about “geeking out” on this stuff! This is awesome as have been your other videos explaining the whole process, build and make up of these amazing new irons! Love it! Can’t wait to get mine!!!

Mizuno...love my JPX 921 Tours...however, really frustrated with the "wear" shown on the backside in the cavity. I've been told it's from "bag clatter", but I'm not sure that's accurate. It's almost like there is a film back there that's been worn off. The backs of these 243's look like they have a similar finish in the cavity. Thoughts?
Went to a local golf shop demo day and tried the Mizuno Pro 243. They were absolute standouts. So, I had to order a set. Now how do I break the news to my wife?
Carefully…
How about a high “forgiveness” iron that doesn’t have the lofts cranked? Like a JPX forged with a 33 degree 7 iron for ppl that swing 90 mph plus but need as much forgiveness as possible. These would be hugely popular with the highschool/college players and the players that transitioned from other sports like baseball.
Where did Chris go?
Nowhere. He was on the live stream a few weeks ago.
still here
Why not continue with the Chromoly on 8-GW? There seems to be a gapping issue between the 7 and 8 iron due to the different material. I would prefer Chromoly through the entire set, that way it closes the gaps at least in my opinion!

Does this set still have the same topline width throughout the set as the pro 223? Also is the offset still the same as the 223?
All 3 are smaller
So from 7i down, is it actually considered forged?
the whole set is. Just a different construction.
7i is one-piece forged with a machined slot that is hidden in the sole. I just hope it has some pop to it. I have some old MP 55 irons that were too soft. Maybe it was the graphite shafts.
So can we order these or what?
yes. Via a fitting account.
Lofts jacked up...why?
DISAPPOINTED!! I had a fitting a month or so ago, and was all set to get a set of 223's. Then they said they couldn't be ordered because the 24 series was coming out. So I said I'd wait and get the 243's. Then found out THEY DO NOT COME IN LEFT HANDED!!! The 223 did, but not the 243. That makes no sense. They've lost a customer.
Hi Chris - sorry, can see how frustrating that must be. We try and rotate which models are available left-handed so that you get a chance at every part of the line over a 4 year period. Would you consider a 245 / 241 combo set? We've got the Fli-Hi's leftie now too.
Another tough break for lefties. Seems like we always miss out on the superstar option of each range. Jpx 923 tour is amazing, no lefty. The 223 was the first time they tried this style and as noted by txg guys there were definitely issues with gapping and getting it figured out. Seems like they’ve got an amazing iron in 243. Really hope they’ll consider bringing out for lefties. Can’t imagine a ton of straight blade sales in comparison to the 243. Fingers crossed they add these late for us!😅
