I've had the 225s for a bit under 2 years now. I work at a golf shop in Australia, and in my spare time I test out all the clubs. My handicap is now 5 down from 13 when I first got the 225s. After testing the 923 tour, and 241s, I'm never getting any other brand of irons. The best irons bar none. Mizuno for life!

I went to my local golf shop wanting the 245s based on looks lol. But I was hitting the 243's more consistently in comparison to the 245. As intimidating as the 243's were to look down at address, I felt more comfortable with them in the end so I ordered them. First set of Mizunos can't wait!

Just takes time my man. I'm no pro, not even a competitive amateur, but after 30 years, I can usually feel exactly where the ball strike is. Put the time in and pay attention, rather than just bashing balls downrange, and you'll get there in a few years. If you don't have access to a tracking system, use foot powder on the face to witness the strike. Intentionally hit center, toe, heel, high, low - that feedback loop is a huge benefit for self-improvement.

As a woman it’s hard to find the best clubs I think. My first own set of clubs are the 245s, I bought them in April. I used the last set of my boyfriend the epic forged ones to begin golf last year. I was quite intimidated when I hit all the forgiving irons and they weren’t feeling balanced enough from clubhead and shaft but with the 245s I was hitting that nice baby fade consistently to 142yds with the 7iron. Did a second fitting a week later and I still performed best with the 245s. Great technique and appealing to the eyes☺️

    • @mizunogolf1906

Best to forget male / female when it comes to a modern fitting. Just head speed, tempo, attack angle, release point and other more useful swing data. The ball doesn’t care about gender.

  • @silvermediastudio

Just got fitted for irons after playing my previous set for nearly 25 years. Went through six different heads, including 243 and 245. I hit the 243s the most consistently, and I was having a bad day in terms of ball striking in the simulator. 245s were a bit chunky for my taste, but they slapp. Once I got the 243 linked up with the right shaft and length, it was money all day long. L-R and Distance dispersion were tasty, if it translates to the course I'm going to be dropping lawn darts with the scoring irons. Waiting a week or so for them to get built and hoping there's enough season left to get out for a few rounds. Big Ups to Mizuno for doing the near-impossible: staying true to traditional and history while pushing the technological envelop and infusing those engineering benefits into the kit.

I have the 225’s got fit at TXG and I didn’t think Mizuno could improve upon them. I was wrong somehow Mizuno created a smaller footprint that is more forgiving softer feeling and more spin ( I’m a high ball hitter so so stopping power not an issue for me ). I only hit them in store and can’t afford new clubs every year ( every ten years for me) but I have no issues with flyers with my 225’s unless it’s an actual flyer lie. Well done Mizuno the 225’s are the nicest irons I’ve ever owned and you one upped them

I just turned 50 and have lost over 30mph swing speed in the last 5 years. Injuries and age slowing me down now bigtime. I want a new set with the ust recoil 95 graphite shafts in a regular flex. These irons with those shafts are so much easier on the body, just feels so smooth and soft. I felt alot better after a large bucket then i normally do hitting mine. Trying to save up now

I have been playing the 221's since they came out a couple of years back but recently re-shafted my old MP4's which I always loved. I think they are a slightly better club. A tiny bit more powerful and the sole is better for me. My 221 9 Iron has also suffering from some chrome flaking/chipping off which is a shame. Makes no difference to performance but never had that happen on my MP4's or MP32's which I played for donkeys years way back when.
Blade design is really to do with sole grind and minute changes in location of the muscle back. It is personal choice. The 245's though do look like an interesting club. Something I might be interested in in a few years when my speed drops off a bit.

@@mizunogolf1906 it just looks ridiculous for one golf-club mfg to come out with at least 3 "new" clubs whose basic function is to replace the evil blade design with what looks like a blade but is actually a "game-improvement" design. But wait, again, it's not how they loo that matters :)
it's how they play. Because standing in the clubhouse or on the teebox it's important that your irons look "Tour-level" but after you tee off you want to be on the green or at least on the fairway a chip-shot in front of the green. Not because your clubs are so great! but because you're such a great player.
So your clubs can't look like "obviously you suck but we're going to do the best that we can to help you, without going hybrid or wood""
So what happens if the player is so bad that they can't even hit a game-improvement club well, but still wants their clubs to look like proper blades? Do they need to break 100 to even swing your clubs? Because of course you don't want the company name on irons that are played by bad players. .
Well none of these three guys are bad players, not great players but still not bad, decent Tour pros or at least a Tourpro like player. So they should all play well even with blades. The few mis-hits they have with blades we'll never see because those will be edited-out of any video for mass release. so we never get to see how much they help good players...and we don't get to see how much they help bad players because you aren't going to put bad players in your ads.
so what is the point of this? Just to keep saying Mizuno and 241, 243, 245 etc like a mantra. and gosh how long does that really take

    • @touristguy87
      @touristguy87 7 месяцев назад

@@mizunogolf1906 what makes a lot more sense but still has obvious pitfalls:
1-get more low-handicap players playing GI equipment.
2-improve the blades just enough to get decent players to rave about how much better they play with them despite the fact that they look almost exactly likek their dads' blades
And I can see that there is some of #2 in this ad. Kinda the point of 3 differrent types. But no matter what Mizuno does, first of all, someone has probably already tried it before and second they certainly can do whatever Mizuno does in the future. And for Chrissakes, who is really going to go out and buy new clubs?
they might go out and buy used clubs.
but how often does the average player change their irons...out of their own pocket? I've been playing for 30 years and I've bought two sets of irons. My current set cost me $100 on ebay 20 years ago.
Would I like to have a 180 yd 7-iron? Sure. is it going to happen? Not any way that I know of. is it going to happen by upgrading to these clubs? Now THAT would make for an interesting ad. Bring in a bunch of players with 20 handicaps and show them the beneit, in real-world numbers, hard data, in switching from their current irons to these new Mizunos. Not that they can pick up 30 yards on a range. That they play significantly better shots on a course, more consistently.
My normal 7 is about 135-145 yds. I put 30 yards on it, that's a big difference. I would also hope that I hit more consistently and score lower, eh? And if not, then what is the point of upgrading.

Because that head design needs those lofts. All the 7 irons peak and descend as 7 irons should. Some of us need more help than others - due to head speed, attack angle etc.
