About Play Air (from Wikipedia):
Fly Play hf. (styled as PLAY) is an Icelandic low-cost airline headquartered in the country's capital of Reykjavík. It operates a fleet of Airbus A320neo family aircraft with a hub at Keflavík International Airport.
In November 2019, WAB air rebranded as PLAY, and the hiring of operating staff was initiated. The airline announced that it would lease Airbus A321s configured with 200 passenger seats and would start flights with two aircraft to six European destinations in the winter of 2019-2020. The airline's livery was also planned to be red.
In April 2021, it was announced that Play had completed a pre-IPO private placement round with a total transaction size of six billion Icelandic króna (US $47 million) in new equity managed by Arctica Finance. Participating investors included Icelandic investment company Stodir and two Icelandic pension funds.
Play operates to destinations in Europe and North America from its hub at Keflavík International Airport.
Play's initial fleet consisted of three Airbus A321neo aircraft, all of which were formerly operated by defunct Mexican airline Interjet. In September 2021, the airline announced its first fleet expansion with orders for three Airbus A320neos and a fourth A321neo, adding to its existing fleet of three A321neos, with the aircraft to be delivered between late 2022 and early 2023. The airline also signed a letter of intent in August to receive two A320neos by early 2022, prior to any of the other aircraft that were already on order, with the agreement subsequently signed as a firm order in November 2021. In early 2022, Play specified that an Airbus A321neo it was due to receive in anticipation of its recently announced Orlando route would be the A321LR variant, for delivery during May 2022, and that it planned to operate a total of ten aircraft by early 2023.

Taking a trip from the US to Germany soon and the flight with PLAY was $380 while other airlines were $1,200+. An amazing deal for sure
Yes! Feels like a lifehack hahahah
Went to Washington from Paris a few month ago for as cheap as 200€ so 185$ and it was really okay and amazingly cheap !!
Yes it's the price for both tickets
Of course no meal/no TV/no outlet but you still can order some snack and drinks even if it was very expensive.
The crew is friendly and composed of only iceland so you know what to expect :)
nice one🎉 thanks for uploading😊🎉❤ happy new year
Thank you, happy new year!
I ordered some food on board, and I got it in a box with the text: "PLAY with your food...." 😅
😂😂😅
Thanks for the info. See you soon in Iceland
Thanks for watching!😊
Oh my God, I got very scared at the beginning when you were lost! I have tickets already on Play for New York to Iceland to Amsterdam, so I hope it goes smoothly. The airport in New York is close to my house, so that’s a bonus, and I chose to pay for extra room and extra everything online. Your report was very good and enjoyable to watch!
Why cannot you just fly directly to Amsterdam
@@user-gd8tz2ok4i As I said, the airport is close to my house, and the airline doesn’t provide point-to-point services, only hub-and-spoke. Yes, I can drive to JFK or Newark for many nonstop options. But it’s a headache and those airports are chaotic. The transfer in Iceland is far more convenient for me. Did I answer your question?
Thank you! Have a nice trip and tell us how it went!! :)
@@user-gd8tz2ok4iprobably got a stopover, theyre free. it just lets the airline use aircraft that dont use as much fuel because they wont need to fly full distance.
As it turned out, the roundtrips on Play were great. Everything was on-time, the connection was easy, the staff were nice. No complaints. Yes, everything costs extra unless you purchase a package at the time of booking, and there is no inflight entertainment. But the convenience and price more than make up for it. I’d be happy to fly with Play anytime.
I recently had to fly to Washington from Amsterdam. United offered me nonstop flights outward and return including one checked bag one food. It cost me 800$. Play Airlines would have cost 830$ for the same standtard execept having a stopover. So I would always avoid low cost airlines and such stop overs. After all, the price is the same or even more expensive and you lose time.
Hey thanks for sharing your experience! I was skeptical about the airline due to the cheapest cost LOL. Do you remember how much a bottle of water costs during flight?
Thank you for watching! I don't remember how much a water was but according to the menu it should be 1 Euro for an "Icelandic Water" whatever that means (and 3 for a soda).
Ahh yeah icelanring desert, happy new year!
Happy new year bro!
That's why is called "Budget Flight".
You pay waaaay less than other plane companies and not having entertainment unit will save you tons of money.
Just download some music or movies on your phone ot tablet and you'll be fine.
Agreed!
The B&B reference was gold. What was the make/model your personal bag? Looks like it barely fit under the seat.🤔
At least someone got the reference hahhaha. About my hand-luggage: It's some no name bag from Temu tbh😂 The bag was way too big I think and there was also an annoying metal tube under the seat...
I'm booked for 3 June 24, one way from KEF to BWI.
I flew on WOW Air before they went bankrupt.
I will do as I did before.
Download movies, bring snacks and a charged power bank.
I'm coming off a cruise and paid an extra $78.00 USD to check a bag.
The same day flight on Icelandic Air was $595.00 more.
Easy choice.
Normally I wouldn't have to check a bag, but coming from a 23 day long cruise it's to be expected.
With bag, last minute $304 USD one way.
Yes, I'm good with that. ❤😊❤
That was good+
thanks!
NY to Iceland to Dublin........550 dollars can check on a bag and carry on 2.. it's a great experience airline
Yes thats great value!
@theRealJohnny.G stewart airport is a breeze too.. no lines..Tsa is 5 mins...so much more relaxing than jfk and Newark chaos..
@@supernova101010 Nice! Hope to visit one day.
did you have to leave the visa-free zone and pass through immigration?
The flight number at play from Billund to Keflavík is OG911😂
😅😂
Always bring a pushbike/scooter with you. Or sleeping bag. I used to take on WOW
Hahahah yes maybe I should do that next time I am going to Iceland
What airline did you use to get to iceland?
I flew there on Wizz Air from Milan
What did u do in Iceland? Vacation? And what work u doin mate?
Actually my main reason to go to Iceland was to try Play Airlines and do this video😂 Since I have never been to Iceland I stopped for 2 nights near Reykjavik to at least see something of the country. I am a Freelancer in the area of Performance Marketing, and I work remotely.
@@theRealJohnnyG. Good luck man
@@TheRollingBear thanks!
They seems not so low cost. I might try to Canada, if the price is right. If they have layover option then even better.
Such a long video to deliver 2 minutes of relevant information
Don't watch it if you don't like it brother. Easy
Um cold and i hwve coat wide open qs does jot look good
priorities
Did you fly with a personal item only? Did they make you test your bag before you got on the plane?
Yes, I only flew with my backpack. They (fortunately) did not check the size and the weight. But you have to go through TSA if that's what you mean.😂
Just that they didn't ask you to put it in the sizer. My bag is too big by a few cm on each side but I don't want to buy another bag or add a carry on for £48 each way!!
@@gideonb93 Please tell RUclips what you do want. Travel with a bag that is too big by a few cm on EACH side (against the terms and conditions of the contract you enter into with the airline) and be pandered to? Is that what you want? Please do let us all know.
Imagine struggling to walk 4 kilometres ffs
brother it's the temperatures not the distance
Reviewing play airlines, gets lost. Video is about that
cry about it
