Super Air Jet is a "BUDGET" version for its already Budget Airline Lion Air, so it's a "Budget of a Budget", that's why their service are the bottom of the barrel. Just imagine if Ryanair or Easyjet have a "budget version" of it 😂

As Indonesian, is very ok to you making an honest review of super airjet and that's has nothing wrong with it, even most Indonesian people will tell you that their favorite plane experience is from Singapore Airlines and Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air Group is probably on the list even for local Indonesian people as very last option, let's be honest, even scoot and Citilink is overing better LCC experiences compared to Super Airjet😅

IMO, Pelita air and Citilink are the best LCCs in Indonesia, I flew with pelita air from Jakarta last november and It was a very nice experience, the interior was clean and looked new.
Being an indonesian, there’s an anecdote from aviation-conscious communities that before you buy super air jet or lion air tickets you should check that certain flight number’s on time performance on FR24 to know if that certain flight is prone to delay/cancels or not bcs there’s a pattern that certain flights are mostly on time but others are 100% surely will be delayed? As of why, we don’t even know why
Usually, delay-prone flights are those where the aircraft had to arrive from somewhere else (lion group's flights to and from Bali are infamous for this, since the aircraft serviced other airports in Eastern Indonesia.). But since this particular aircraft had been sitting at the gate in Jakarta for hours, then other explanations (like the possibility of technical issues you mentioned) seem more likely.
We had a 7am flight with Super Air Jet from Bali to Bandung. The flight was on time, everything was perfect. There are worse airlines in Indonesia, for example Trans Nusa, which is really a no-go... I have flown almost everything in Indonesia: Garuda, Citilink, Malindo Air, Wings Air, Lion Air, Batik Air, Trans Nusa, Air Aisa... Garuda is the best. Don't forget to bring extra food with you on the plane, there is often nothing to eat...
My last transnusa flight was on PK-TLC, very-worn, many broken parts on cabin including my reclining seat, but atleast legroom is very nice since it is an old seat configuration. They are not that bad actually imo, but still not my fav airline
The main issue of all Lion group airlines are their ground staff. I've had lot of flights with Lion group, and their ground staff has never been nice. Once i lost my luggage on my Lion flight in 2013, and last time i had flight on Batik it took me an eternity just to get my baggage. Their cabin crew is actually nice just like any other Indonesian airline. For Indonesian LCC, i'd recommend Citilink and Pelita Air.
If i remembered correctly, they also got a small incident where their airplane AC broke causing much chaos on some flight. Also its part of Lion Air Group as LCC like Lion Air, so we expect Lion treatment, unfortunately, this seems more like LCC of Lion Air instead. (Worse of the worse) If you want to be cheap, just take Citilink or Pelita XP

I did board their aircraft, great experience for a medium service flight. I normally flown with Garuda, Citilink, or Pelita nowadays, eventho Batik is also another option, they now only flown domestically from/to Halim Airport, which is far from my home (PIK area, only 15 mins drive from CGK) Gonna board Garuda today from PLM to CGK to attend some comic cons, got lucky with promo price so i can allocate some budget to lounge and priority service (yes, Garuda has one, cheap too, starting from $10)

The AC issue does made it reflwct on how bad their fleet condition is. Pelita Air is a charter-only and only recently (more like less than 2 years) turned into medium-service airline. They are owned by Pertamina Group (government-owned oil company), and have a very pristine safety record thankfully. Had a really good experience with them. Sometimes they have cheaper fare than most LCC (except SAJ). I normally flown with Garuda group (cant go wrong with them), Pelita, and Batik. Tho i havent flown with Batik due to their domestic base moved to Halim, which is 1 hour drive from my home. Gonna fly with Garuda today to visit some comic cons. I got a really good deal so i can use the remaining budget for lounge and priority service (Garuda has one, you can also order one from Joumpa VIP too. They are dirt cheap for what its worth)
For Lion Group airlines .... the gate confusion/change, time rescheduling.... its a normal thing. Part of the low cost experience 😂. Id pick Batik Air of you really want to fly with Lion Group 🤔 best in the group.... but id only fly them if its in life and death situations/last resort
I wouldn’t fly either. Had bad experiences with Batik. Flew from PER-CGK via DPS paid AU$1900 with Batik (yep, its Cattle/Economy Class. same price ticket flying to Europe). Hmmm. Where to start. I got seat just next to toilet. Half of the aircon is not working. Had no choice to fly with them back in 2022. Never again. Id better pay 2 grand to fly with Singapore Airlines.
Batik is okay sometimes but are also shit most times, my experience flying Batik from Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Jakarta) to Kualanamu Airport (Medan) was a big mix. The first flight was amazing with it being on time and absolutely smooth landing and clean toilet, and super cold AC. buuut the way home was shit, hard landing, delayed for SIX hours, late by 56 MINUTES, broken TV, and dirty toilet
From what I’ve experienced and seen on RUclips reviews, all Indonesian airlines (from full service to LCC and even budget LCC) have one thing in common: super friendly flight attendants.
The only time I missed my flight was with Super Air Jet because their baggage check in was so slow in crowded hours. Imagine only 3 counters opened to serve dozens of passengers. Also some of the passengers didn't have respect for other passengers by occupying the counter for too long. By the time I finally checked in, I was too late to board the plane.
I've taken this airline from BDO - DPS, they were a mess. Flight number on my boarding pass didn't match the one on my reservation, and the actual flight number was different. I couldn't figure out how to get a window seat, online check in wasn't working, the airport originally said they don't have window seats but eventually unblocked a row. Nothing was given or for sale, not even water. Very bizarre airline.
Thank you for your review of this airline, as an Indonesian myself I haven't got the chance of trying (and probably would evade it after your review). Honestly I have a similar experience myself with the Lion Air flight with the delays of 3h ++, I'd rather pay the extra cost of citilink than experiencing the headache of delay again. With that being said, you should probably try to visit Lombok next which is close to Bali, or maybe Bandung which is close to Jakarta. Cheers!!
When I click on the lounge in my priority pass it says "free luggage drop available". My phone is set to German CH so maybe that's why it's different. However, if you go there and ask it sholuld be no problem to check in your bag. You just hand it to the staff together with your travel documents, have a drink, and they will come back with your ticket.

I’ve flown with them from Yogyakarta to Lombok. They were super on time. But for the rest of my island hopping I used Garuda Airlines. I really love Garuda. I only used Super Jet because I was too tired for the early morning flight with Geruda. And Super Jet was the only one that flew without a layover.
I flew with Lion Air last month and it was fine as they met my expectations: - Multiple reschedules - Additional delays - no on-board service - long queue to baggage check-in and they actually massively exceeded my expectation on my returning flight as those problems we not present at all. Recommend 👍👍👍👍👍
Im Indonesian and always do my best to avoid lion group airlines (batik, lion, super air), regardless my destination. The company where Im working also prohibit all of the employees to fly with the airlines, both for business and personal.

Me as Indonesian, would never fly lion air group, not even think to fly them. 😂 The only reason that they survive till now because they offer bunch of destinations in Indonesia, even the most remote area. Their CEO even said “Maskapai saya paling buruk di dunia, tetapi anda tidak punya pilihan” which literally translates as “our airlines is the worst, but you have no other choices”. I flew with them once from Denpasar to Jakarta. I was almost over my fear of flying, after going from Brussels to Jakarta 6 times. Yet, that flight made me fear for my life. For some reason during cruise they trimmed the pitch way too high. Giving the aircraft a very high AOA. Which creates a lot of drag and is bad for fuel efficiency. But if the AOA is too drastic, it can even be dangerous. Why did I fear for my life then? Because knowing that the pilots were making such mistakes was only fuelling my fear of flying. Giving me such a sense of dread that it felt like dead was imminent.
As Indonesia , i always fly with batik air or Citilink but with super air jet is only third time or 4 time i forget but its so good flying with super air jet it's just normal.. For me its very avarge flight with super air jet..🗿
As an Indonesian, I agree. It genuinely is terrible. My last flight was in a super air jet Airbus A320, flying from WADD-WIII. The service was, mid, imo, don't care enough. But my seat has a BROKEN TRAY TABLE, i wanted to place my tablet on the tray table to watch movies, and when i placed my tablet there, you guessed it, the tray table swung to the left, causing my tablet to almost fall. Checked the tsble itself. The left side DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A SCREW IN IT. Also, landing was rough, weather was OK though. EDIT: BEFORE YOU ASK: yes, my plane got delayed too. well, atleast, for 45 mins.

If I may to tell and suggest you, There is 2 full service airline operation in inner Indonesia, The First one is Batik Air, which is you already flown with, and the other one is Garuda Indonesia, the flag Carrier of Indonesia. Citilink is Garuda Indonesia arm of it's low cost carrier. Trust me, Garuda Indonesia is worth of it as the same as it's low cost carrier. Another suggestion from me as an Indonesian for your trip in our beautiful country. There is a lot of place where you can find paradise. 1. Banda Neira, it's is located in Maluku Province 2. Raja Ampat in Papua 3. Bunaken in North Sulawesi. I also thank you if you visit our mountainous region. We have 1. Ijen Crater. We have blue fire in here which only exist in 2 place in the world 2. Bromo Mountain, you will find a beautiful dessert in here as well as 3. Rinjani, this one is very popular among hiker. We also have National park such as 1. Komodo Island, this is where you will find the Komodo Dragon 2. Ujung Kulon National park, which we have one horned rhinoceros and of course the Way Kambar National park. Well I hope you have a good trip in Indonesia. Wish you full of joy from Indonesian

As an Indonesian, well, to be honest the past few experiences I've had with super air jet was nothing but somewhat good. I don't really have any bad experiences with it on the contrary, it was great I haven't gotten any delays nor any cancellations with them, on the contrary my flight was advanced 30 minutes before the original boarding time. Although I wished they'd announce it in the intercom or something, I almost missed my flight due to that.. but damn, I'm sorry for your shitty experience with them.

My family and me flew Super Air Jet, and It was DULL. No Wi-Fi, and all I have to do is to watch the Window only. SO DULL. I would rather choose Citilink for the best Low-Cost Airline.

No, super air jet almost exclusively use ex-indigo A320s. Ex Thai Lion 737s are reabsorbed into Lion Air and ex Malindo 737s are reabsorbed into Batik Air due to cabin configuration similarities, while tons of Batik A320s and some of their 737s and Lion's 737 fleets are repossessed during covid

Maybe for Super Air Jet, but to say service in Indonesia is bad would be a wrong generalization I would say. From what I have experienced in Jakarta and Bali, the service in hotels, gastronomy and clubs was great and hospitable and in many cases better than back home in Europe tbh

I’m sorry for your awful experience. That is the problem with cheap flights in Indonesia. Always avoid flights that are so cheap that they seem too good to be true. Better spend more money on a company like Garuda. It’s expensive, but at least you can rely on the ETD and ETA shown in your ticket. Even if there’s delay, it wouldn’t be as horrendous as those super cheap airlines.
Next time I will know. It was an experience nonetheless and I was able to review an airline on this channel thaz most people outside of Indonesia don't know. But Garuda is high up on my list of airlines I want to fly!😊
had a similar experience with this airline a year ago, that was my first and last flight with them. the flight was from jogjakarta to jakarta, we were supposed to board the plane at 2 pm, but ended up boarding at almost 7 pm. the only thing they gave me was a paper bag with a single bun, 3 tiny cookies, and a cup of water. I guess the only decent indonesian airline is garuda. the rest are dog shit.
Terrible airline. Always delayed and on one flight the seat in front of me was defective and reclining on its own, almost hitting my head when taking off.
That's a serious safety hazard actually since in case of an evacuation seats should not be reclined. I really feel like those planes should stay on the ground😅

Their cabin crew is actually nice just like any other Indonesian airline. For Indonesian LCC, i'd recommend Citilink and Pelita Air.

If i remembered correctly, they also got a small incident where their airplane AC broke causing much chaos on some flight.
Also its part of Lion Air Group as LCC like Lion Air, so we expect Lion treatment, unfortunately, this seems more like LCC of Lion Air instead. (Worse of the worse)

Pelita Air is owned by Pertamina (government-owned oil company) which transitioned from charter only to medium service flight, good safety record too. I did board their aircraft, great experience for a medium service flight.
I normally flown with Garuda, Citilink, or Pelita nowadays, eventho Batik is also another option, they now only flown domestically from/to Halim Airport, which is far from my home (PIK area, only 15 mins drive from CGK)
Gonna board Garuda today from PLM to CGK to attend some comic cons, got lucky with promo price so i can allocate some budget to lounge and priority service (yes, Garuda has one, cheap too, starting from $10)

Pelita Air is a charter-only and only recently (more like less than 2 years) turned into medium-service airline. They are owned by Pertamina Group (government-owned oil company), and have a very pristine safety record thankfully. Had a really good experience with them. Sometimes they have cheaper fare than most LCC (except SAJ).
I normally flown with Garuda group (cant go wrong with them), Pelita, and Batik. Tho i havent flown with Batik due to their domestic base moved to Halim, which is 1 hour drive from my home.
Gonna fly with Garuda today to visit some comic cons. I got a really good deal so i can use the remaining budget for lounge and priority service (Garuda has one, you can also order one from Joumpa VIP too. They are dirt cheap for what its worth)

I wouldn’t fly either. Had bad experiences with Batik. Flew from PER-CGK via DPS paid AU$1900 with Batik (yep, its Cattle/Economy Class. same price ticket flying to Europe). Hmmm. Where to start. I got seat just next to toilet. Half of the aircon is not working.
Had no choice to fly with them back in 2022. Never again. Id better pay 2 grand to fly with Singapore Airlines.

Batik is okay sometimes but are also shit most times, my experience flying Batik from Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Jakarta) to Kualanamu Airport (Medan) was a big mix. The first flight was amazing with it being on time and absolutely smooth landing and clean toilet, and super cold AC. buuut the way home was shit, hard landing, delayed for SIX hours, late by 56 MINUTES, broken TV, and dirty toilet

From what I’ve experienced and seen on RUclips reviews, all Indonesian airlines (from full service to LCC and even budget LCC) have one thing in common: super friendly flight attendants.
That's true. Indonesian people in general seem to be very friendly (at least the ones I met).
The only time I missed my flight was with Super Air Jet because their baggage check in was so slow in crowded hours. Imagine only 3 counters opened to serve dozens of passengers. Also some of the passengers didn't have respect for other passengers by occupying the counter for too long. By the time I finally checked in, I was too late to board the plane.
Sorry for that experience.. efficiency and being on time does not really seem to be a thing with Super Air Jet ahhahah
I've taken this airline from BDO - DPS, they were a mess. Flight number on my boarding pass didn't match the one on my reservation, and the actual flight number was different. I couldn't figure out how to get a window seat, online check in wasn't working, the airport originally said they don't have window seats but eventually unblocked a row. Nothing was given or for sale, not even water. Very bizarre airline.

Thank you for your review of this airline, as an Indonesian myself I haven't got the chance of trying (and probably would evade it after your review). Honestly I have a similar experience myself with the Lion Air flight with the delays of 3h ++, I'd rather pay the extra cost of citilink than experiencing the headache of delay again. With that being said, you should probably try to visit Lombok next which is close to Bali, or maybe Bandung which is close to Jakarta. Cheers!!

Please explain the luggage check in at the priority pass lounge. I looked at my app and I the only listed feature is luggage storage not check in.
When I click on the lounge in my priority pass it says "free luggage drop available". My phone is set to German CH so maybe that's why it's different. However, if you go there and ask it sholuld be no problem to check in your bag. You just hand it to the staff together with your travel documents, have a drink, and they will come back with your ticket.

I’ve flown with them from Yogyakarta to Lombok. They were super on time. But for the rest of my island hopping I used Garuda Airlines. I really love Garuda. I only used Super Jet because I was too tired for the early morning flight with Geruda. And Super Jet was the only one that flew without a layover.

I flew with Lion Air last month and it was fine as they met my expectations:
- Multiple reschedules
- Additional delays
- no on-board service
- long queue to baggage check-in
and they actually massively exceeded my expectation on my returning flight as those problems we not present at all.

Im Indonesian and always do my best to avoid lion group airlines (batik, lion, super air), regardless my destination. The company where Im working also prohibit all of the employees to fly with the airlines, both for business and personal.

I flew with them once from Denpasar to Jakarta. I was almost over my fear of flying, after going from Brussels to Jakarta 6 times. Yet, that flight made me fear for my life. For some reason during cruise they trimmed the pitch way too high. Giving the aircraft a very high AOA. Which creates a lot of drag and is bad for fuel efficiency. But if the AOA is too drastic, it can even be dangerous. Why did I fear for my life then? Because knowing that the pilots were making such mistakes was only fuelling my fear of flying. Giving me such a sense of dread that it felt like dead was imminent.

My last flight was in a super air jet Airbus A320, flying from WADD-WIII.
The service was, mid, imo, don't care enough. But my seat has a BROKEN TRAY TABLE, i wanted to place my tablet on the tray table to watch movies, and when i placed my tablet there, you guessed it, the tray table swung to the left, causing my tablet to almost fall.
Checked the tsble itself. The left side DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A SCREW IN IT.
Also, landing was rough, weather was OK though.
EDIT: BEFORE YOU ASK: yes, my plane got delayed too.

Well, I am very sorry to hear that from your videos. If I may to tell and suggest you, There is 2 full service airline operation in inner Indonesia, The First one is Batik Air, which is you already flown with, and the other one is Garuda Indonesia, the flag Carrier of Indonesia. Citilink is Garuda Indonesia arm of it's low cost carrier. Trust me, Garuda Indonesia is worth of it as the same as it's low cost carrier.
Another suggestion from me as an Indonesian for your trip in our beautiful country. There is a lot of place where you can find paradise. 1. Banda Neira, it's is located in Maluku Province 2. Raja Ampat in Papua 3. Bunaken in North Sulawesi. I also thank you if you visit our mountainous region. We have 1. Ijen Crater. We have blue fire in here which only exist in 2 place in the world 2. Bromo Mountain, you will find a beautiful dessert in here as well as 3. Rinjani, this one is very popular among hiker. We also have National park such as 1. Komodo Island, this is where you will find the Komodo Dragon 2. Ujung Kulon National park, which we have one horned rhinoceros and of course the Way Kambar National park.

As an Indonesian, well, to be honest the past few experiences I've had with super air jet was nothing but somewhat good. I don't really have any bad experiences with it on the contrary, it was great I haven't gotten any delays nor any cancellations with them, on the contrary my flight was advanced 30 minutes before the original boarding time. Although I wished they'd announce it in the intercom or something, I almost missed my flight due to that.. but damn, I'm sorry for your shitty experience with them.

No, super air jet almost exclusively use ex-indigo A320s. Ex Thai Lion 737s are reabsorbed into Lion Air and ex Malindo 737s are reabsorbed into Batik Air due to cabin configuration similarities, while tons of Batik A320s and some of their 737s and Lion's 737 fleets are repossessed during covid

Maybe for Super Air Jet, but to say service in Indonesia is bad would be a wrong generalization I would say. From what I have experienced in Jakarta and Bali, the service in hotels, gastronomy and clubs was great and hospitable and in many cases better than back home in Europe tbh

I’m sorry for your awful experience. That is the problem with cheap flights in Indonesia. Always avoid flights that are so cheap that they seem too good to be true. Better spend more money on a company like Garuda. It’s expensive, but at least you can rely on the ETD and ETA shown in your ticket. Even if there’s delay, it wouldn’t be as horrendous as those super cheap airlines.
Next time I will know. It was an experience nonetheless and I was able to review an airline on this channel thaz most people outside of Indonesia don't know. But Garuda is high up on my list of airlines I want to fly!😊
had a similar experience with this airline a year ago, that was my first and last flight with them. the flight was from jogjakarta to jakarta, we were supposed to board the plane at 2 pm, but ended up boarding at almost 7 pm. the only thing they gave me was a paper bag with a single bun, 3 tiny cookies, and a cup of water. I guess the only decent indonesian airline is garuda. the rest are dog shit.

If you want to get the seat that has space for leg room you must choose the seat besides the middle exit door
