to the guy asking at the start if you had Optical Fibre connected, Most of us don't because NBNco deal was scrapped and now you cant even pay for a proper fibre connection.
Most places are still running 50 - 60 year old copper from the exchange/Nodes to the plug in the house. Before you used to be able to pay $3K to get it replaced.

Very few people anywhere in the world (US included) have true residential fiber. Fiber termination has pretty much become its own trade in the last 15 years, and they get paid good money because it’s nothing like terminating coax or cat5. Basically if you’re paying for “residential fiber” what that means is there is a junction box somewhere on your block they ran fiber to. From there 99% chance they ran coax from the box to your house (or even repurposed old coax). Trust me it’s fast internet regardless but true fiber it is not. Then again if u live in a McMansion that’s under 10 years old then maybe
Gotta say the selling settlement tech can be abused incredibly hard. helped me out of stupid situations so many times already.
the unfortunate thing about aussie internet is that while some areas of the city and newer suburbs have been upgraded to optical fiber. that's only the main line on the street not the connectors to each house. home owners have to pay to upgrade their connections separately and that's only if Telstra want's to do it.
that also wont help as much as you would think as the OF lines don't go all the way from the relay stations to the suburbs. most of the way it's the old cable lines.
