At The Maison Dupuy Hotel, New Orleans, La. on January 11, 2024. James Evans sitting in on clarinet. Excuse the dim lighting, there were no stage lights.
@@JamesSterling They're coming to Asheville at The Grey Eagle this summer. I will be getting tickets and reserving hotel this week. It is just a little over 3 hours from me. I feel so lucky! But not as lucky as you! Did you make the Vaughn's show I told you about? James McClaskey's show there was stunning.
@@billbush1270 I didn't make it Vaughn's unfortunately, but seeing McClaskey is on my list. Recently I have been making just one night trips to see Tuba Skinny so it doesn't leave much time to see other bands.
Thank you so much for a new great performance. 🎉😊👍✌️😁 The audio quality is magnificent. Great music as always. And I am very happy that you visited this set, because James Evans was there too. He is a wonderful musician too. Clarinet, Sax, Trombone(!) and he sings too. Multitalented. Best wishes to you. Dave from Berlin Germany 👋
Thanks Dave. I only recorded a few songs that night because it was difficult recording with all of the dancers and the dim light. I will be returning later this month to catch them at The Maison Frenchmen Street so wish me luck on getting the seat at the end of the bar next to the stage.
Many thanks, James. TS nerds such as myself may be interested to know that 'Crazy 'Bout You' was recorded in 1935 by Big Bill Broonzy and the State Street Boys. Also that it is on Tuba Skinny's 'Owl Call Blues' album. Finally, a challenge for my fellow nerds: Greg is singing this 16-bar tune in the key of F. But in which key did Erika sing it on the album?
love the music .............. and the mural.

@@markkerr8265 Well done, Mark! You win the Men's Box of Jazz Socks!
Post 353 does not mention Big Bill Broonzy
@@PopsCoffee Pops, does the win qualify me as an official TS nerd?
@markkerr8265 You may rest assured that your application for membership of the club will be accepted.
I haven't seen him, but I can hear him. James is on clarinet. Thank you so much for the Video, James.
