    After watching that if this had been available when I bought my WPS I could have saved myself a good few hundred quid. As far as the quick release connector is concerned you should be able to identify the type and get a link pipe / pipes made to couple to your existing adapters.
    I already owned an AST diesel compression kit and fuel pressure test kit. Pico sell a link pipe to convert their Forster 2 connector to this.
    As for the difference in your tail pipe waveforms, if you shorten the pipe on the delta sensor I think you’ll see the M’s
    Once again another great video full of great info. Keep em coming fella!

    Have you tried to measure diesel return flow (leakback), or any other fuel related pressure tests to see if it works? If it does, it will be a viable option over the WPS500.

    Dave, did you create custom probe for the crankcase pressure test?

  • @the_retired_mechanic
    @the_retired_mechanic 3 года назад +1

    Very good dave and comprehensive as always. I was iching for you to have read out the peak compression value of the cylinder in old school psi from the pico screen. Then carry out a compression test of that cylinder with a analogue gauge to compare the readings for accuracy.

    • @davesterl
      @davesterl  3 года назад +1

      i do not think the comparison test would be valid as a manual gauge shows pressure built up as there is a schrader check valve whereas this type of testing needs to be unchecked

    👍very good video. It's on the top of the list, of my next tool....
    even if it's not very good product for oil and fuel (which I think it's not necessary to use it on that fluids),you can use it in a lot of other diagnostic cases,to help you out.
    Thanks for the awesome video.

    I was wondering what it would like on a pico.. Looks very nice.
    I have tried it on the mp408... Filtering is needed..but unavailable. To much noise..😞
    Then i tried on the 1008c.. Alot cleaner image.😳..
    Thanks for showing dave.
    im still experimenting also.. Only tried on 3 kias so far.. Need to try on other makes.
    Take care.

      @@JLsAutoSolution Completely agree. I just wanted to make sure you knew that there was a filtering option. Do you still think is worth getting this pressure transducer for the mp408 based on its price? I always wanted to get it, but was never sure of how well it worked.

    Couple of questions.
    Has any one found a better solution to the couplers on this to make it more universal with a range of other kits
    And second has this been tested for use with fluids yet?

    Great video Sir. Definitely an odd coupler, i took the quick connect off thinking i would just swap it out with a common 1/4 pipe buttt the threaded end is some odd size that appears to be a 14mm X 1.0 or 27 fine thread. I couldn't find either one so i took the nipple of the cheap ( super soft) hose it came with and put it on a spare ( stiffer )snap on.

    • @davesterl
      @davesterl  3 года назад

      oh, thats interesting George. Does the quick couple male come off the hose easy enough? I have been unable to find anything similar. Cheers

    • @gcmd5852
      @gcmd5852 3 года назад

      @@davesterl Yes, i cut it off then just trimmed off what was left. It has a barb on it so i just cut the one of the old SA hose and put it together. As i'm sure you've noticed the hose it comes with is pretty cheap and very soft compared to a quality compression hose. The cheap Amazon compression kits have the exact same hose and fitting. They're only about 20 so i bought one ( figured i could use it on intake captures) and did a back to back and there was some difference in the waveform.

    • @davesterl
      @davesterl  3 года назад

      Could you put a link up for the cheap Amazon compression kit that has the same fitting. I'd rather butcher one of those, thanks again
