  • First use to mainly familiarize myself with set up and confirm timing. Sweet little scope and transducer with easy set up. Get one while you can #automotive #oscilloscope

Just a heads up. When using the rulers you need the 720 deg rulers . If you move the ruller then hit the gear on the bottom right you can cycle through the rulers . One of them shows piston direction over all 4 cycles of 720

My man! I have been trying to find the 720! I saw them on a video set to 720 on the hscope but was unable to find how on the fly. Truly appreciate this, that's what it's all about!

    Fantastic video dude!
Those two channel scopes are sold out, seems as though the quality is above contempt.
Impressed with the low cost high quality set up.
    Subscribed.

The HS502 has fair number of reviews done. Was really waiting on someone to do reviews on the HS512 see it's use in action. Really appreciate you breaking the ice (for me at least)... thanks again.

The 502 has half the input voltage of the 512, which in automotive is usually a good thing. One drawback seems to be on very low level signals. I am going to do a video today of an amp clamp that reads in mv. The 512 performs excellent with a transducer where 1 volt = 1psi. Where it might lose ground to the 502 is where 1mv =1amp. If this is the case I'd still prefer the extra protection of the 512 and use a hantek that has a 5 volt max for low level signals . Either way, I'd stick with the hscope software, the more I use it the more I like it

@@manelishi13 oh really? I need to see that video... i got the impression the 502 and 512 were the same after watching the reviews on the 512, but I am a newbie when it comes to oscilloscopes and diagnostics with scopes and I'm sure your comparison video will be a big help for me. Thanks man.

@@danielkenkama5701 the 502 has an input range selection of 16v, 8v, 4v, 1.6v where as the 512 has an input range selection of 32v, 16v, 8v, 3.3v. So they are sacrificing low range readings for higher range readings. Beyond that they are the same. I believe it is down to a different sensor package for each unit but everything else is the same.

Thanks for the video. I have the same tools that you have and they work great.the pressure transducer is my go to and really was surprised how well it works

Your videos are one of the reasons I went with the hs502/512 and HScope. You make some good ones! Thank You!

DJ I’m going to have to try this transducer bro. I have the snapon only. Where should I get it from bro?

Was the timing off the causing the lack of vacuum? Curious to know what caused that.

    • @manelishi13

@NEMOJA The ecm was not controlling the vvt valve. It had a fried driver inside. Ended up checking timing marks on the cams also. It had no signal at all at the vvt, replaced the ecm and the square wave came back and controlled the timing again . Did not re do the transducer test afterward to see the difference afterward to see any difference though sadly.

Last wave form looks like it's not pulling vacuum on the power stroke. Was the intake valve/seal the problem?

    • @manelishi13
      @manelishi13  25 дней назад +1

@NEMOJA It wasn't it's main problem but good eye. After the power stroke, it should have crossed the threshold on the bottom for vacum. I was not sure what to expect but yes , a healthy engine should have that vacum pocket after the power stroke.

@@manelishi13your videos convinced me I need to upgrade my modis edge scope! Purchased a hs502 with pulse sensor and transducer.
      Just waiting for delivery atm.

@NEMOJA Awesome! I'm sure you will find Hscooe much faster. The Modis still is a great 4 channel option. I have a habtek 1008c 8 channel that hscope let's me use 4. The Hantek just doesn't have enough of a buffer to be usable. I'm usually only using 2 channels and the hs512 works great and fast. I think the 502 is more suitable for the pulse sensor even though it works great with the 512. With the 502, the 1v range of the pulse sensor is right in the middle. The 512 it's on its lowest range. I will be picking up a 502 soon, they would definitely be better for can bus also. Thanks for the comment, and let me know what you think of the scope when you get it!

@@manelishi13 yea for the price and quality of the hs502 it seems like it will blow the snap on away for the tests I'm looking to do with it. Thanks for all the good info 🫡

Do you need to ground the attenuator lead when testing spikes?
