SHO jobs particularly in surgical fields like orthopaedics are the worst- continuous bleeps during calls, not allowing to concentrate on the work.if it is a large hospital-you had it-you have to run from one ward to another in every corner of the hospital, making on calls a nightmare. And the worst part it -you learn nothing in your surgical field after all the hard work as an SHO.
I heared that after passing even mrcp in any field there is very less chance to become consultant in jk as img and you are ending up become registrar for your whole life
Hi doc! After getting gmc registered post clearing plab do we get an orientation of NHS? Do they let us get aware of the work system , different levels etc or we have to figure everything ourselves?? Please answer doc!
I've heard that during training as a junior doctor in UK, you have to move house every year as you get assigned a different hospital every year. Is it true. Can you make a video on how a doctor with a family manages to move houses so quickly? What affect does that have on their health and personal life?
We rotate in different hospitals every 6-12 months- that's correct. However I never changed my house throughout the duration of training. I doubt anyone moves their house with every rotation.
Sir, I am paediatrician in India And want to move to UK after completing MRCPch Is it worth to move or better to stay in India?? Becoz in India, so many issues as working a doctor. Might be you also know about these issues. But i dont want to live in UK for whole life I want to work just for 4,5 years and then planning to move UAE
It's not an easy decision to make and I have shared my experience and rationale through these videos. It's for you to decide if moving to the UK is right for you based on the information.
Thankyou sir for a wonderful video..1 doubt sir.. i personally don't like doing research.. is it really necessary to do research stuffs for a good placement in a hospital in UK.. like in india there is no need of research for postgraduation.. please do reply
Research is not mandatory for good jobs. However if someone applies for the same job with some publications, then they will be given preferances.Unless you are looking for surgery career then research is not really needed.
Nice video doc. We're moving to Australia in a month, my wife is a specialist physician from India and we were lucky to receive an opportunity where the hospital was willing to sponsor an offshore candidate. Hi sir How is the quality of training in the uk What is your opinion in regard us vs uk If someone wats to be ophthalmologist, will uk or us be his good choice Also how is the lifestyle
Quality of training and lifestyle is variable depending on specialty. I don't have any idea about US training. I don't think any IMG have realistic chance to become an ophthalmologist in the UK or US so choice does not matter.

So is there any chance that after 4 to 5 years the rules and selection process will be changed for IMG's or more IMGs migrating to uk or something like that?

Sir I md anaesthesiology (2022 jun passed out) trying for Mti’s currently working as a free lancer at my town. I must join medical college or teaching hospital before applying for interviews or what sir ? How many months of experience as such is needed?
You should join any govt/private hospital/nursing home so that they can provide you with a reference letter. You need 12 months experience before applying for GMC/MTI.

You can get ENT jobs after MRCS. However AVM is a medical specialty in the UK (post MRCP) and available in very few centres. If you really want specialised short term experience then you can approach the centres directly for short term attachments (unpaid).Best to try this after MRCS and settling down in UK.

The most common myth in an NHS Hospital is that they want to see you restored to full health before walking cheerfully out of the door.

I heared that after passing even mrcp in any field there is very less chance to become consultant in jk as img and you are ending up become registrar for your whole life
MRCP is not a degree to become a consultant. So people will end up being a registrar all their life unless they do CCT or CESR.
Videos from you’re channel are nice sir. Do keep up the good work. 😀👍🏼

Hi doc! After getting gmc registered post clearing plab do we get an orientation of NHS? Do they let us get aware of the work system , different levels etc or we have to figure everything ourselves?? Please answer doc!
GMC organises a welcome to the UK practice workshop. Hospitals organise inductions and rest you learn on the job.

It's called sports and exercise medicine. It's a medical specialty after MRCP
