Love the guitarist's choice of chords or subtle melodies.
It has the feel of a late-career Paul Simon tune: a subtle melody, pristine lyrics. I mean this as a compliment, of course.

I've always kind of been critical of what I call "meow meow singing" that started becoming popular some years ago, but this example of it is beautiful, talented and meaningful, I appreciate finding out a way I can really enjoy this singing style. You changed my mind, I get what it can be and do.
Studio work: the sound you ended up with on all the strings is just exquisite, just WOW. Generally a standout job, but wanted to comment on the strings.

can someone please tell me what is the genre of this song? i wanna start listening to songs like this. its sad and haunting at the same time. i love it.
Indie folk is a general term for it. But for a couple other songs with a similar vibe...Wild World by Scott Ruth, and Deadman's Gun by Ashtar Command. They might be a little more "produced" than this one, but I still enjoy them 😁
Bonus: On youtube there's an acoustic version of "Elm Street Loverboy" by Claudio Sanchez that is also really good, but I think is a tad more upbeat

I always love your french covers of love songs from Django Reinhardt, Brassens or Daft Punk. May I suggest you Nino Ferrer ? He was for me the most UK/USish kind of production artist in France during the 60's to the late 80's, and had many influences from Pink Floyd, to the Beatles, and other international bands. He's never been truely recognized for his artistic ambitions, but had some very popular hits, like "Le Sud" (which is a fantastic song).
But may I suggest you listen and think about covering his song "I'm looking for you" ? It's sung in english and it has a true potential in terms of musical arrangement.

Oh, that voice and style you use with it. One of the best I've heard. Better than Laura Veirs but only because it's different. You both have something unusual in your style/sound, but I don't know enough about music to know a term for it, if it exists. It is just appealing and soothing to me. Damn, you're so very good at this.
