    I just ordered a Sagola 4600 Xtreme 1.3 Titania. I hope it does high solids clear and maybe single stage. I have a Tekna Copper now that works great for base coats and medium solids clear coats.

    Hi Pete, it's surprising how 2 different guns with the same size tip sprays so differently the Sagola is a lot faster than the DV1, it goes to show that the aircap influences the gun speed almost as much as the tip size🤔
    It's interesting that you find both the C1 and C2 cap gives the same finish but I think the C1 gives the same finish as the T110 and the C2 gives the same finish as the TE20, yeah they are similar but I find the C1 gives a slightly flatter finish and likewise the same with the T110, I think how the painter sprays also plays a part in the finish🤔🤷‍♂
    Really good finish on both of those panels mate, lovely flat finish from both guns, great job Pete👏👍

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  Год назад +1

      Hi John, yes, quite stark when you look at the second coat, the Sagola is 10 seconds faster, the cap is without doubt the most influential part of the gun, quite striking though.
      I can seem to get as good a finish from the C1 as C2, although the C1 1.2 combination does seem a little flatter than the 1.3. but there's very little in it.
      As with all these gun's they are getting expensive so the Sagola is not the clear cut winner it always was for me buy its right up there still, I just have to think a little harder now to make a choice 😉 cheers mate 👍

      Yeah I was looking at getting a Sagola at some point but the price has gone up so they are nearly the same as the other top end guns which is a shame, atm I'm quite happy with the clear guns I have but I would like to add another basecoat gun which hopefully will be the WS400S2 OBS but again it's the price which is quite painful😅👍

    I recently switched over from my 3 walcom guns the gensi 360 light base hte, genesi 360 light clear hte, and ego 190 hte mini to the 3 DV1 guns. I prefer the C1 cap with 1.2mm for high solids. At first i was concerned about slower sweep speed but i actually like it better because i can follow what im doing while hammering high solids down at 10psi. My walcoms were faster but also using 25psi to 30psi. I also find i get way less overspray with dv1 over walcom hte

  • @Cavalier_Steve

    Hi Pete, good points about the gun being right for the painter, I have found my ANI F160 is very slightly faster than my R160Q, the F160 has a much bigger fan on it and seemingly like a hose compared to the R160Q they was for completely different applications though so not surprising really but felt so much faster to me and personally with the small amount of spraying I have done I wouldn’t want to go much faster, well not yet anyway 😅
    I forgot to say in your last video, I’m surprised that other painters count the turns from fully unwound 😮 as you say from fully in and counting the turns out is in my opinion the most accurate and repeatable I was amazed that people done it that way. Thanks for another great video Pete as always. Cheers.

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  Год назад +1

      Hi Steve, as you say the F160 is more of everything, can seem a bit daunting at first but you'll get used to it and I'm sure you'll love it especially doing full bumpers and the like.
      Shame we have winter coming as it makes it more difficult but it will soon pass.
      Yes, it seems a lot of people do it the fluid the other way, the idea I've been told is to tighten the rear adjuster until you feel the needle start to move wile you have the trigger in, then it's whatever number of turns in that suits your particular requirements, seems easier to me to just wind it in and out, cheers mate, thanks for watching 👍

      😅 , cannons are great! . For honesty there's a reason I ask ... I'm looking for a new gun and narrowed it down to these two , I'm an industrial painter of weekdays (trays , trailers , caravans and sundries ) which includes a lot of what requires high quality finishes , and car ~restoration of a weekend . My current guns are getting a bit old and worn , with exception to my advance hd , which is probably what's making my other guns feel avg 😳(ws400 , w400wb1 , pro , pro lite and some other randoms) but it's a pot gun so not usable in all situations . Anyways , looking forward to it and thanks for all of your great vids 👍

      Hi Rick, your right, there are so many variables that needs to be taken into account, I try and explain as best i can what i find with all these gun's.
      I'm in quite a privileged position to be able to use and afford all these, I'm not trying to sell anything I'm just passing on what i find and indeed people can see for themselves and be the judge but there are so many variables particularly the temperature, humidity, type of clear used as well as the style of the individual and of course what's required for the final finish.
      You mention your WS400 have you seen my videos on the series 1 and setting the tip cut outs level with the air horns? , it does make the gun atomise finer so maybe something to try of you haven't already, thanks for watching buddy 👍
