  • Finally, I get the head on. I show how to adjust the valves and a little trick I did to find Top Dead Center without shining a flashlight in spark plug hole, which shall now be known as THE PISTON HOLE.
Me failing to remember what feeler gauges are called:
    • Royal Enfield Continen...
    Part One of the build:
    • PREDATOR 212 BUILD, MI...
    Part Two(ish) of the Build:
    • Predator build suffers...

First time I’ve seen anyone taking about the valve guide seal. Congrats! I was putting the motor together last night and thought I lost one for the exhaust side. Took a lot of looking at other videos to see it (not mentioned though) and realize I only need one. Feel like we should be highlighting this! Almost got me stuck. Thanks for the vids!

Just stumbled across you channel and love the info you put out there. I just started modding these small engines about 2 yrs ago and I’m completely addicted. So much fun squeezing all you can outta these lil things. Anyways I love the idea with the TDC and hole and mark on the flywheel and blower housing, I can’t believe I didn’t think of that. I have a clear housing on a couple of my builds so this should be even easier. Quick question, when the timing marks on crankshaft and cam are lined up this is also TDC correct? I had so much trouble setting valve lash on my first build due to not knowing you set lash after the compression release. I stick a screw driver into spark plug hole and pull cord till you see it go up then down and right as it’s coming back up. Then set lash. Thanks for the great info good stuff sir, new sub here

Thanks, I appreciate the sub. Yep, when the cam and crank marks are lined up the motor is at TDC. I used to do a lot of flat head years ago and one of the tricks with them was to put a nickel on the piston and get that level with the top of the block(no head on) to set the points before TDC

So Predators get valve lash set to 3 & 3 while The Coleman Hysun 196 clones get valve lash set to 6 & 8? If so...is this because of the cylinder gasket being used or the heads are milled differently or the valve train components are different sizes?
