The fact that this game is coming to all platforms gives me even more hope for the Epic Mickey series. It probably won't be leng before Epic Mickey 2 and possibly even Castle of Illusion are also remade as well. It wouldn't surprise me if Epic Mickey 3 becomes a reality seen!

And the Master System Illusion games, like castle of Illusion for the master system, are essentially Ducktales games. They play and look identical to the NES Ducktales games. So if you're a fan of the Ducktales games and want more, then play all the mickey mouse Illusion games for the master system. They're seriously fantastic, and they're entirely different from the Mega Drive ones, they're not like ports of the mega drive ones, they're completely different, completely their own unique games.

@Nitro_Fueled I don't understand why they are not adding unused content back into the game. Hopefully, if they end up doing DLC for this game, they can make add an Oswald campaign where we play as him back before the main game starts.
I think that the most likely for the costumes would be selecting between Classic & Modern Mickey skins, Wizard Mickey or Mickey just wearing clothes worn by other Disney characters

So the thing is, a LOT of those original concepts were never actually planned for the game (the really REALLY crazy ones). The reason is Warren was trying to see where Disney drew the line on how far they could push this. Concept after concept, they were able to see what could work and what was off the table. Considering this is ALSO a faithful remake to the original…seems like we will get graphical overhauls but the enemies might be the same
@@drakeboutte1466. Although I hope they add new enemies based off of even more references to classic Disney material; There's still over 100 years worth of stuff to pull from and some of the Blotling enemies didn't really have any references except for the Sweeper.
@@dragonbornexpress5650sadly I don’t think they are going to add entirely new enemy types. With a faithful remake, they try to stay pretty close to the original source material. Sure Mickey now gets a dash, sprint, and ground pound attack, but that is just stuff to make the combat a bit more fluid, and movement less of a hassle. As for enemies, I wouldn’t expect new ones to show up. MAYBE if there’s like a special chapter or something then possibly, but they are most likely going to be as faithful as possible
@@nromnic I was thinking of maybe after the events of the main game, Oswald sets off on his own journey to get rid of the rest of the Mad Doctor’s Beetleworx generators because those are still a threat to Wasteland.
I can see a few things in this leaked video: 1) Probably most of the UI (Specially the health bar) leaked in this video is a placeholder for the final one. 2) They're problaby remaking most of the 2d cutscenes because in 2:55 the shading of that shot is a little different from the original cutscene. 3) in the level select there's the option to go to the Blot's boss fight's in Dark beauty castle so that means the game is nearly "Fininshed" or they made the scenary but didn't programm the boss Fight.
According to a dev on discord, the 2D cutscenes will remain the same. The reason they look better is probably because they don’t have the video compression of the Wii version. Then again, the dev was fired so this could all just end up being changed later on
I really hope this game will include some of the scrapped content even if it's not in the main campaign kinda similar yo what remakes like Battle for Bikini Bottom did
Oh that ground pound actually reminds me of when you would press the button for Paint or Thinner once and create a quick burst. It was used as a quick "get off me" sort of tool.
I do think the new moves will allow speedrunners to achieve things they couldn’t do in the original game 👀 I do like the new menues, looks nice. Costumes coming back is cool. Maybe we unlocked costumes by beating the bosses or find them throughout Wasteland. I just hope Mickey has blots coming out of him in the final release. For some reason I haven’t seen in the official or this footage you showed.
There has been a few instances where the blot drips have shown up in clips of gameplay (more specifically the Nintendo Partner Showcase) if you look reaallly closely..

Having the ability to play certain sections of the game would be INCREDIBLE since now you go back to get certain collectibles. It also would be nice if they could improve the Clock Tower boss fight.
I honestly think that, as a first proper boss fight, it's a pretty good one... but the Paint way to do it is not intuitive. It probably would've been more intuitive if we were introduced to Beetleworx earlier, since that's when we learn that Paint can gum up their mechanisms.

Ok, so the pricing is still not final, so it might not cost 60 bucks. Hopefully it'll be less, let's see. It's great that they're working on the camera! I personally don't remember any particular issues I had with it, but I do remember it was somewhat wonky, yeah. Ok, so I've noticed the new UI everyone's been blabbering about. I don't mind it, it's fine, tho I do find it odd that they would make it different regardless. While the I'm honestly unsure about a preference between health pips and hearts, Mickey's face being shown on sketchbook pages that would flip into an increasingly distraught expression were pretty cool. In this UI tho, it's just Mickey's face on an ink splatter. I don't dislike it, I just slightly prefer the other one. There's also a chance it's still just a WIP anyways, it's not uncommon for folks to use simpler assets for the early stages of the game. Alright, new gameplay! Nice to see the spin attack, the double jump (it looks a wee bit wonky but I'm sure this is old footage, it looked good in the trailer) and... the dash move! Looks pretty much like how I expected it to! Tho I assumed it would be used for aerial movement as well as ground movement, it still looks neat. I assume it'll be used either to phase through things like barred doors and crash through wooden planks, as well as a dodge for combat. Ooh, and the ground pound, it looks positively destructive! The projector screens, looking foine... The pause screen! We have Options, Quests (we'll still have plenty a those I bet, hehe), a general Overview that'll show main collectables and the map, Pins, Extras (which seem to be where we'll see the cutscenes, concept art and even the two bonus shorts and the original credits, good touch there) and Costumes (Ooh! With "Pure Mickey" being the default option, it makes me wonder if they'll use things like the Scrapper Mickey as an alternate costume!) Alright, we got the main levels here, at the time of the beta at least... no Tulgey Woods sadly, but hey, they did want to make it faithful. Tho this makes me wonder... did they get all the levels of a "chapter" all into one level? There's only the Gremlin Village, which isn't separated into the other boat rides; the Mickeyjunk Mountain isn't separated into all the sub areas and I dunno if Ostown is included too; etc. Since it's the beta, maybe these are just some of the levels they were working on, the main ones so to speak, so maybe at this point in time they have more levels added to that list. Oswald!! From the cutscene of Mickey's arrival at Wasteland and the Mad Doctor! His mouth does look weird, but again, maybe it's at an early stage, especially when you remember that the intro cutscene from the trailers looked stellar. The fact it's on the box art does look a bit iffy, but well, we'll have to wait and see how that goes. Wow, the Swiss Army Robot looks a LOT different! The eye is round and has more realistically mechanic joints, almost like an animatronic's eye, I like it! And the eye looks even fleshier, it looks creepier!
The only things that have me worried are, how the UI for the paint and thinner amount are displayed because of how big they were in EM1 compared to EM2. I just don’t want my full screen to be covered with their Paint+Thinner amounts 😅
I think I'm dreaming a little too big here, but I hope they let us replay certain areas of the story. Mostly because one of my peeves of the original game was that you had to play the whole game all over if you wanted to replay a certain area again. Tomorrow City is one of my favorite areas in the game and I would love to have an opportunity to replay that portion without having to restart the game.
I really hope they revisit the paint and thinner morality system like how they originally conceived for Mickey. They don’t have to go too dark, they could just revisit the Scrappy, Hero, and Wastelander morality mixed in with a tone down version of Mickey’s thinner form where both more paint drops fly off of him while some parts of his body turns white.
Not sold on the art direction for the GUIs but hopefully they look a lot more different in the final release. The dash and ground pound do look REALLY fun! I was really hoping the ground pound would have a paint/thinner effect and I’m so glad to see it does. I do kinda hope it sprays out more in the final though, give it a bit more power. Also, it kinda seems like you can dash while in the air? That’s really exciting! That’s gonna make combat and basic exploration feel SO much more exciting. I’m still worried they’ll mess with the artistry of the backgrounds, aside from that one official shot of mean street and the clock tower nothing has wowed me, and some shots like the Lonesome Manor absolutely feel unfinished. I REALLY hope that level select isn’t just a Dev tool but is something they put into the final release (with a better GUI) because that’d be really exciting.
I hope the costumes that can be unlocked are the scrapped thinner and paint versions of Mickey. In the OG game, Mickey’s appearance changed slightly based on what you used more often. But apparently they were going to be more unique and visually striking, esp the thinner Mickey. Maybe if you can get a costume for the more advanced thinner version
@@dragonbornexpress5650 There isn't a way to abuse it because even in Castle of Illusion you have to press the jump button before you hit the enemy for the Ground Pound to damage it. Think of it like a timed hit in the Mario Rpgs
@@vegetafan9922. No, I mean it more in the sense of not having any reason to do other attacks; Neglecting other moves, basically. Only one of the Blotlings in the original game had a ranged attack while most of the other enemies were melee based so it's also a question of proper counterattacking and keeping the combat interesting.
I think the problem with Oswald’s mouth is that, unlike mickey, his face is flat, which would distort his cheeks a little bit. I feel like they should make his mouth 2D, like a more classic cartoon look. Besides, it’s really the only form we’ve seen Oswald in, besides Mickey 1 and 2 of course. Other than that, i’m totally hyped for this game!
I wish there did wonderland level and beanstalk factory that both i want. God damm i want it, stupid purple lamp studio. Just writer new segement or side mission and put in there.
Pretty awesome that the costumes from epic mickey 2 are back.... But you know what i really hope the remake does? Allow you to revisit previous locales. A serious issue i had with the first game is how linear it was. The only revisitable locations were the hubs areas. You could only visit areas like mickeyjunk mountain, Tomorrow city, tortooga and lonesome manor once per save file and never again afterwards. This means that any quests in these areas have to be done in one go or else you fail any chance of completing them.
I really hope they add a scroll bar to the customization system, so they can add more outfits. I know it’s stupid, but I love being able to customize your character in video games. And in Epic Mickey, I just felt as if there weren’t many outfits for Mickey, AND Oswald in the second game.
it would be amazing if the wonderland era with the boss battle makes a comeback and some other ideas too the remake is the change to do that ... man i hope soo much that this remake brings the series back
Don't understand why Wonderland was put into Wasteland, but it's clear that it used to be part of the whole thing prior to Mickey fucking things up. Also, when the Blot gets into Wasteland, Wonderland is the first to go followed by Dark Beauty Castle and Mickeyjunk Mountain. (Which, given the mountain is based off of the Matterhorn, it would just be the Matterhorn at this point in time since this is pre-timeskip before Mickey became super popular.)
I think the costumes section will feature mickeys costumes from his toon adventures like in Epic Mickey 2, or maybe featured costumes from his current adventure like maybe a pirate or Peter Pan dressed Mickey, or a sorcerers apprentice Mickey.
I remember the combat at some point in Epic Mickey being pretty challenging to me as a kid so I'm glad new moves will be added like dodging sprinting and ground pound!!
The new additions look pretty clean and otherwise it seems to be what is on the tin gameplaywise, the first game with better graphics. Now we just have to wait for info on the actual content and environments. I just hope it actually delivers and does not have a bunch of technical problems. It was really sad to see how hated the sequel was back in the day because its ports were pretty poorly done and had many technical flaws that just did not exist or were less bad in the original Wii version.
Things I'm most concerned about, especially for the Switch version, is that the visuals for this remake will loose a lots of what made the original's atmosphere so special and effective, and that despite being a game that was over a decade old, this remake will still run at 30 fps. This thing happened with Sonic Colors Ultimate, and it'll probably happen again, at least for Switch.
This is actually one reason (of several) that I prefer EM1 to EM2. I like just hearing the voice sounds and not full dialogue. I don’t know, it just adds to the weird ambience for me.
Wouldn't be the first time a THQ Nordic published game used cut content to bulk up the gameplay; Both of the Destroy All Humans remakes, for example, dove quite a bit into the content archives to pull out unused levels, characters, weapons, mechanics, and setpieces to bulk up the content in both games.
The graphics looks good to me. Never have played the 1st one, but I have played the 2nd one on the Wii. I look forward to trying out the rebrushed for Epic Mickey. I’ll probably played this on the Switch when the game launches, and also yessir Sonic Unleashed is the goat, and it’s one of my top favorite Sonic game!
If I remember correctly, Oswald’s mouth was always kinda odd. I remember it looking weird as a kid when I originally played it. I really hope they add all of the unused content from this game. It could have been Disney’s masterpiece.
This new life counter reminds me of the one seen in very early beta footage or Warren Spector’s video giving us a preview of what to expect when the game was announced. I think it looks cool and I hope it stays. Makes me wonder if they’ll add any more scrapped elements to Rebrushed? Like the original concept for the morality system?
This game would have to look and play worse than the original for this to not be a day one buy for me. This game was a core part of my childhood and I literally can not wait to play it regardless of how well it’s been redone (but honestly, it’s genuinely looking amazing ❤).
tbh any level of improvement is good im just happy to get an epic Mickey revival and hopefully this will happen for epic Mickey 2 and maybe even do well enough to get Disney to make the long awaited third installment

The ground pound is likely going to be used in combat. I don’t really see a use for it in platforming and traversal. Maybe to push buttons. Plus, I think it may have been inspired by the bounce in Castle of Illusion.
Honestly, the ground pound is just one of those standard platformer moves, which makes sense as the devs at Purple Lamp actually have experience with the genre.
I wonder if they will add more film reels to collect since after Epic Mickey there are now 18 cartoons that have been found (some characters were found too but I doubt they will be added).
I feel like this new remake added too much life to some areas of the game, one of the things I liked was how desaturated and dead some areas of the game looked. I hope they keep the old eerie loading screens too. It’s hard to tell tho with as much info and visuals we have if this thing.
Okay, but now we need “Lock’s Quest” to come back. And also an online mode with long term gameplay. THQ is awesome and they’ve made some amazing games, but that game hit different for me.

Remaster would require the source code; That being said, a lot of the stuff from the sequel wasn't really anything to write home about anyway. (Not saying the sequel didn't have ANY good ideas; Some of the location concepts were fantastic, for example. It's just most of the concepts and ideas from the second game are best forgotten about.)

I wonder if we’ll get an extra story like what Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury or Sonic X Shadow Generations did, like Oswald’s adventures before or during the Thinner Disaster, like he and Ortensia on the journey to bottle the Blot or a free roam before Thinner Disaster Wasteland with a bunch of quests to do for people.
I just hope they let the characters SAY their dialogue instead of making grunts, groans, and exclamations. The voice cast for this game was top-notch - I wanted them to have real dialogue!

It would be cool if they gave up the ability to give Mickey his appearances throughout the years like you could play as his classic B&W 30's look or his refined 60's look
I'm so happy the game seems to take advange of Mickey absorbing the Blot and he's semi liquid now and it shows!

Ok, so I've noticed the new UI everyone's been blabbering about. I don't mind it, it's fine, tho I do find it odd that they would make it different regardless. While the I'm honestly unsure about a preference between health pips and hearts, Mickey's face being shown on sketchbook pages that would flip into an increasingly distraught expression were pretty cool. In this UI tho, it's just Mickey's face on an ink splatter. I don't dislike it, I just slightly prefer the other one.
There's also a chance it's still just a WIP anyways, it's not uncommon for folks to use simpler assets for the early stages of the game.
Alright, new gameplay! Nice to see the spin attack, the double jump (it looks a wee bit wonky but I'm sure this is old footage, it looked good in the trailer) and... the dash move! Looks pretty much like how I expected it to! Tho I assumed it would be used for aerial movement as well as ground movement, it still looks neat. I assume it'll be used either to phase through things like barred doors and crash through wooden planks, as well as a dodge for combat.
Ooh, and the ground pound, it looks positively destructive! The projector screens, looking foine...
The pause screen! We have Options, Quests (we'll still have plenty a those I bet, hehe), a general Overview that'll show main collectables and the map, Pins, Extras (which seem to be where we'll see the cutscenes, concept art and even the two bonus shorts and the original credits, good touch there) and Costumes (Ooh! With "Pure Mickey" being the default option, it makes me wonder if they'll use things like the Scrapper Mickey as an alternate costume!)
Alright, we got the main levels here, at the time of the beta at least... no Tulgey Woods sadly, but hey, they did want to make it faithful. Tho this makes me wonder... did they get all the levels of a "chapter" all into one level? There's only the Gremlin Village, which isn't separated into the other boat rides; the Mickeyjunk Mountain isn't separated into all the sub areas and I dunno if Ostown is included too; etc.
Since it's the beta, maybe these are just some of the levels they were working on, the main ones so to speak, so maybe at this point in time they have more levels added to that list.
Oswald!! From the cutscene of Mickey's arrival at Wasteland and the Mad Doctor! His mouth does look weird, but again, maybe it's at an early stage, especially when you remember that the intro cutscene from the trailers looked stellar. The fact it's on the box art does look a bit iffy, but well, we'll have to wait and see how that goes.
Wow, the Swiss Army Robot looks a LOT different! The eye is round and has more realistically mechanic joints, almost like an animatronic's eye, I like it! And the eye looks even fleshier, it looks creepier!
The only things that have me worried are, how the UI for the paint and thinner amount are displayed because of how big they were in EM1 compared to EM2. I just don’t want my full screen to be covered with their Paint+Thinner amounts 😅
I think I'm dreaming a little too big here, but I hope they let us replay certain areas of the story. Mostly because one of my peeves of the original game was that you had to play the whole game all over if you wanted to replay a certain area again. Tomorrow City is one of my favorite areas in the game and I would love to have an opportunity to replay that portion without having to restart the game.
I really hope they revisit the paint and thinner morality system like how they originally conceived for Mickey. They don’t have to go too dark, they could just revisit the Scrappy, Hero, and Wastelander morality mixed in with a tone down version of Mickey’s thinner form where both more paint drops fly off of him while some parts of his body turns white.
Not sold on the art direction for the GUIs but hopefully they look a lot more different in the final release.
The dash and ground pound do look REALLY fun! I was really hoping the ground pound would have a paint/thinner effect and I’m so glad to see it does. I do kinda hope it sprays out more in the final though, give it a bit more power.
Also, it kinda seems like you can dash while in the air? That’s really exciting! That’s gonna make combat and basic exploration feel SO much more exciting.
I’m still worried they’ll mess with the artistry of the backgrounds, aside from that one official shot of mean street and the clock tower nothing has wowed me, and some shots like the Lonesome Manor absolutely feel unfinished.
I REALLY hope that level select isn’t just a Dev tool but is something they put into the final release (with a better GUI) because that’d be really exciting.

I hope the costumes that can be unlocked are the scrapped thinner and paint versions of Mickey. In the OG game, Mickey’s appearance changed slightly based on what you used more often. But apparently they were going to be more unique and visually striking, esp the thinner Mickey. Maybe if you can get a costume for the more advanced thinner version
I'm hoping the Ground Pound works like the one in Castle of Illusion where you can bounce off of one enemy to another

@@dragonbornexpress5650 There isn't a way to abuse it because even in Castle of Illusion you have to press the jump button before you hit the enemy for the Ground Pound to damage it. Think of it like a timed hit in the Mario Rpgs
@@vegetafan9922. No, I mean it more in the sense of not having any reason to do other attacks; Neglecting other moves, basically. Only one of the Blotlings in the original game had a ranged attack while most of the other enemies were melee based so it's also a question of proper counterattacking and keeping the combat interesting.

I think the problem with Oswald’s mouth is that, unlike mickey, his face is flat, which would distort his cheeks a little bit. I feel like they should make his mouth 2D, like a more classic cartoon look. Besides, it’s really the only form we’ve seen Oswald in, besides Mickey 1 and 2 of course. Other than that, i’m totally hyped for this game!
The reason the mouth might look off is probably due to the new lighting and graphics it just makes look different

This is my favorite game of all time my only complaint was backtracking for collectibles but this appears to be fixed with the level select hopefully!

But you know what i really hope the remake does? Allow you to revisit previous locales.
A serious issue i had with the first game is how linear it was. The only revisitable locations were the hubs areas. You could only visit areas like mickeyjunk mountain, Tomorrow city, tortooga and lonesome manor once per save file and never again afterwards. This means that any quests in these areas have to be done in one go or else you fail any chance of completing them.
I really hope they add a scroll bar to the customization system, so they can add more outfits. I know it’s stupid, but I love being able to customize your character in video games. And in Epic Mickey, I just felt as if there weren’t many outfits for Mickey, AND Oswald in the second game.
it would be amazing if the wonderland era with the boss battle makes a comeback and some other ideas too the remake is the change to do that ... man i hope soo much that this remake brings the series back
Don't understand why Wonderland was put into Wasteland, but it's clear that it used to be part of the whole thing prior to Mickey fucking things up. Also, when the Blot gets into Wasteland, Wonderland is the first to go followed by Dark Beauty Castle and Mickeyjunk Mountain. (Which, given the mountain is based off of the Matterhorn, it would just be the Matterhorn at this point in time since this is pre-timeskip before Mickey became super popular.)
I think the costumes section will feature mickeys costumes from his toon adventures like in Epic Mickey 2, or maybe featured costumes from his current adventure like maybe a pirate or Peter Pan dressed Mickey, or a sorcerers apprentice Mickey.

This certainly gives some useful insight on the game, such as the return of 2-D cutscenes.

I remember the combat at some point in Epic Mickey being pretty challenging to me as a kid so I'm glad new moves will be added like dodging sprinting and ground pound!!

The new additions look pretty clean and otherwise it seems to be what is on the tin gameplaywise, the first game with better graphics. Now we just have to wait for info on the actual content and environments.
I just hope it actually delivers and does not have a bunch of technical problems. It was really sad to see how hated the sequel was back in the day because its ports were pretty poorly done and had many technical flaws that just did not exist or were less bad in the original Wii version.
Things I'm most concerned about, especially for the Switch version, is that the visuals for this remake will loose a lots of what made the original's atmosphere so special and effective, and that despite being a game that was over a decade old, this remake will still run at 30 fps. This thing happened with Sonic Colors Ultimate, and it'll probably happen again, at least for Switch.
Are we not gonna talk about the ears always moving with in the same direction as the camera no matter where Mickey is looking
Something I want to see in the remake Is that in the 2D cutscenes had voice lines and not just noises of the characters
This is actually one reason (of several) that I prefer EM1 to EM2. I like just hearing the voice sounds and not full dialogue. I don’t know, it just adds to the weird ambience for me.

The ground pounf animation is similar to a prototype animatiom where Mickey also releases a shockwave of paint.
Wouldn't be the first time a THQ Nordic published game used cut content to bulk up the gameplay; Both of the Destroy All Humans remakes, for example, dove quite a bit into the content archives to pull out unused levels, characters, weapons, mechanics, and setpieces to bulk up the content in both games.

The graphics looks good to me. Never have played the 1st one, but I have played the 2nd one on the Wii. I look forward to trying out the rebrushed for Epic Mickey. I’ll probably played this on the Switch when the game launches, and also yessir Sonic Unleashed is the goat, and it’s one of my top favorite Sonic game!

This game would have to look and play worse than the original for this to not be a day one buy for me. This game was a core part of my childhood and I literally can not wait to play it regardless of how well it’s been redone (but honestly, it’s genuinely looking amazing ❤).
tbh any level of improvement is good im just happy to get an epic Mickey revival and hopefully this will happen for epic Mickey 2 and maybe even do well enough to get Disney to make the long awaited third installment

The ground pound is likely going to be used in combat. I don’t really see a use for it in platforming and traversal. Maybe to push buttons. Plus, I think it may have been inspired by the bounce in Castle of Illusion.
Honestly, the ground pound is just one of those standard platformer moves, which makes sense as the devs at Purple Lamp actually have experience with the genre.

I feel like this new remake added too much life to some areas of the game, one of the things I liked was how desaturated and dead some areas of the game looked. I hope they keep the old eerie loading screens too. It’s hard to tell tho with as much info and visuals we have if this thing.
Yeah I feel at least 40 would be acceptable for the price. It’s a remake but they had the blueprints to rebuild the game again.

Remaster would require the source code; That being said, a lot of the stuff from the sequel wasn't really anything to write home about anyway. (Not saying the sequel didn't have ANY good ideas; Some of the location concepts were fantastic, for example. It's just most of the concepts and ideas from the second game are best forgotten about.)

I just hope they let the characters SAY their dialogue instead of making grunts, groans, and exclamations. The voice cast for this game was top-notch - I wanted them to have real dialogue!
On the other hand, the gibberish and grunts do have their charm. Might need a compromise on this front.
Honestly if the game was 60 I wouldn’t even complain?? It looks beautiful and will be so cool to have on ALL platforms. After paying so much money for the trash that was Dreamlight Valley I’m excited for a genuine Disney game being remade and loved again.
