great tutorial. can you post another one on the best way to open the package with the batteries? lol...took me longer to open the package than it did to change the battery
Literally thanks man. Honest to god I googled this because my key fob died and had zero idea how tf to fix or asses the issue. Your video popped up and I followed it, including the battery size. Thank you a lot man this video man. 🎉 Fun fact: I also checked out your other video on how to use the actual key to lock and unlock the doors manually because the fob had been dead at the time ☠️
Thank you for posting this easy to follow video. My "Replace Battery" indicator came on today and fortunately I had a couple of CR2032 batteries in the house so I was able to replace the key fob battery just now as I watched your video. Helpful Tip to others: As you never know when the replace battery indicator will come on (I bought my 2019 Chevy Malibu in July 2019 -- new -- so this was ~3 1/2 years after I bought the car) I would recommend going down to your local store and buy a package of 2 batteries and put it in either the center console or glove box of your vehicle for safe keeping. This way, regardless of where you are, if you have to replace the battery then you will already have one in your vehicle, ready to use. These little CR2032 batteries have a "shelf life" of 10 years..... or so the package claims.
Yes easier to get the fob open than it was to get the new battery out the packaging. Very clear and easy to follow. Who knew thers a damn key in the fob? Shouldnt the dealer mention that part? Guess Im getting old hahaha
Of course the dealer isn't going to mention that part! They want you to think that it's some impossible thing that only a very few highly skilled people can do so they can charge you three hundred dollars for the service😂
I've had the 2017 Malibu for 2.5 years and this is the first time I had to replace the battery in the FOB (Brand new battery installed on the dealership lot because it was flat-dead like other things in the car I had them repair -- Like the AC, lane departure, couple sensors...). I was really too anxious to do that on my own as it felt just too hard to do the pull apart, but, I guess it is what it is. Thanks.
My battery went dead. The car alarm went off good thing I read my manual so I put the key in the pocket in the arm rest now, then went back into the grocery store to get a battery. Thanks for this video

man, just a great video. straight to the point. question, is that just a regular lithium battery from the store?
Yes! The CR2032 are common batteries - most places that sell batteries should carry them
Sweet video. Very precise! Quick question for anyone. Is there any local stores we can find these batteries at besides going online & ordering ???
