  • These are the top Non-Russell Group universities in the UK. Choosing a university based on it being a Russell Group is common but when looking at the UK university rankings, we find there are several UK universities which outshine the majority of the Russell Group and that's what this video will cover. I've identified 4 UK universities which don't get as much attention even though they're ranked very highly in the UK university tables. The University of St Andrews, Bath University, Lancaster University and Loughborough University are all chosen because of how they've performed over the past few years and what their future potential are.

    The redbrick universities are among the most prestigious institutions in the UK with entry qualifications very similar to those for Oxford and Cambridge. The High Fliers' annual report of the 100 top employers in the UK places several redbrick universities above both Oxford and Cambridge graduates for the capabilities of their graduates. These are the Universities of Leeds, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Warwick and Nottingham. Along with Oxford & Cambridge, all the above universities are members of the UK's elite Russell Group of universities.

      @ThatMuslimLife  8 месяцев назад +2

      very good unis mate! Focus on the first two as they will definitely get you interviews. The other ones are great universities as well but youll have to be well rounded with a lot of extra curricular activities as well

      @@ThatMuslimLifethank you, yes i think that ucl and lse are on another level😅😅. Do you think going to the other three is worth it, considering the debt and other factors that come with going to those. I was watching afzal hussein and he seems to think degrees arent particularly important, and if you do one it should be good… So i dont know whether a geography degree(needless to say with econ) is worth it

    • @ThatMuslimLife
      @ThatMuslimLife  8 месяцев назад +2

      @bmn4609 those other three are excellent universities. You can definitely get a great job graduating from them but they’re not going to make it easy to get a FO role in finance. But what’s the alternative….? It’s easy to say not to go uni but I would only say if your sole focus is getting a top job post uni then don’t bother with the ones ranked below 50th place.
      There are several degree apprenticeships now with big4 and IB eg at Leeds which is also an option. At the top unis the subject is less important.

I never knew the Uni of Bath had such good placements and after watching this video, I might consider a placement year with my course. I hope bath can slot into the Russell Group in the future as it deserves to be in the elite. 😂

    Oxbridge is no longer the institution it once was unfortunately. The standards have dramatically dropped as all they now care about is their discrimination against the best independent schools applications coupled with giving an easy entrance to underperforming international students whose higher fees are more desirable to them fir business reasons. This means that they have to drop course standards. This means non Russell group universities are benefitting from this as so many of the countries brightest and able students are going elsewhere where as Oxbridge and Russell group universities are settling and aiming for mediocrity and all in the name of makingmire money ti the detriment of the best English students. It's a shame.
