    Hearing that 904 working reminds me of the Leyland 270 my late father used to drive, there's a distinct sound to them. Nice video sir and Merry Christmas.

    Used a Leyland 384 in 1973 and a Leyland 272 syncro in 1979. Very strong engines and the 272 was very speedy on the road.

    Does the 904 have the 498 engine block in it the same as the 270 Leyland

    Dad had 804 later in life just for topping he didn’t pay a lot we sold it for double and the guy sold it double again 😢

    It is a yellow Leyland ! Marshall never designed wheeled tractors, they just warmed over existing Leylands.

      Not stirctly true, yes the 904XL was a tweaked 804 with a longer wheelbase and more output but the 100 Series were new, they carried over the Explorer cab and used the six cylinder Leyland 6/98 but otherwise were a very brave attempt at a new tractor, inlcuding electronic rear linkage - in 1984!
