Asmon could have done a better job emphasizing the key point imo. He kind of started rambling about sales tax. The key point is that (income) taxes are calculated as a percentage of income, not a percentage of income minus expenses (disposable income), so progressive taxes try to account for that. It's an approximate solution because we can't exactly calculate the value of someone's disposable income in a fair way.

I'll never understand the hate for the Fortnite Battle Pass. I agree with the earlier version cuz it was something like if you didn't finish the BP before this date you lost your chance to earn something you already paid for. But didn't they change that after a while? Now you can still earn those rewards even if that BP expired
People need to remember what the paid content landscape was BEFORE battle passes, map packs splitting communities up, content updates behind huge paywalls, on top of paid cosmetics still etc. Battle passes may be annoying cause they are in every game ever now, but they are far better than the alternatives we had prior
@@Sentro1122yea I think battle passes are probably the best form of in game mtx if they're implemented fairly. The problem as you said is they're in every game now, and often they're not justified or in tandem with other mtxs. The currency used for bp are transferable across all current and (presumably) future cod games, and you can earn the currency through the free battle pass sector so you can eventually self sustain every battle pass purchase just from playing the game. I agree with him somewhat. I like battlepasses. You often get a lot of value if the skins and other shit in there speaks to you. But, I hate when you're forced to play 24/7 for the entire length of it to be able to complete it. A season should be 3 months, and you should be able to complete the battlepass/seasonpass in 1 month if you play 3 hours a day. Now spread it out to 3 months, suddenly you aren't forced to play it all the time.

For those wondering, what Asmongold was explaining to Tectone regarding taxes is this: If poor people make 50 000$ in total, they spend 40 000$ to live, so they have 10 000$ left. If rich people make 500 000$ in total, they spend 300 000$ to live, so they have 200 000$ left. If you tax poor people at 15%, it's 7 500$ out of 50 000$ in total (15%), but 7 500$ out of 10 000$ left (75%). If you tax rich people at 15%, it's 75 000$ out of 500 000$ in total (15%), but 75 000$ out of 200 000$ left (37.5%). Despite the tax for everyone being 15%, it hits poor people more severely (75%) and rich people less severely (37.5%).
Tectone not understanding why poor people can’t just pay the same percentage as rich people in taxes is one of the most unrelatable things I’ve heard in a while. 😂

First ingame purchase? First external was lineage 2 right before wow release to buy adena (currency) if we're not counting subscriptions, if we're counting subscriptions it was either wow or lineage 2
I don't know if it's the first, but Smite's battle passes are the best, aside from the initial purchase (which can actually just be got for free) the 600 gem pass will basically always give you 400 gems by completing the pass and on top of the daily sign in rewards over the course of the pass, you will come out being able to buy the next pass sometimes with extra gems.
The self-diagnoses of personality disorders is, to some extent, oxymoronic. As being _'unaware of'_ or _'incapable of acknowledging'_ the symptoms is generally itself a required symptom of said disorders. And notice too, it's always the 'sensational' disorders that people claim to self-diagnose. It's never a disorder that carries terrible stigmas; like narcissism and borderline do. There are a few exceptions though. For example, typically people who have OCPD, to some degree, know they have the disorder. The condition which is almost always an outlier isn't even technically a disorder that can be diagnosed, and that would be psychopathy. Most psychopaths are aware that they are psychopaths; at least on some level.
I cannot name a single disorder on the DSM-5 that has *ignorance and unwareness of behaviours* as a requirement criteria, people who go to a doctor already have assessed themselves with potential symptom correlations or get smack dubbed in the middle with a diagnosis from a doctor who has observed them for a certain amount of time. The 3 results are, client is right, client is onto something but is educationally misguided and has something else, or client doesnt know wtf is going on but they have this and now have been diagnosed . Personally i have a history of terrible anxiety and paranoid ideations and went to the doc thinking i have PPD but turns out am borderline. And for your information, there is a stupendous amount of children that self-diagnose with BPD and NPD due to social media pushing them, statistically a decent portion actually suffers from it but there is a good chunk of people convinced that are suffering from something they do not.
@@matoiiveyy2005 You're right that being unaware of one's own symptoms is not required for a diagnosis of any disorder in the DSM. However, you could say that this lack of specific insight is expected and implied as a symptom. And when I said _"required symptom",_ I was not referring to the DSM's diagnosis requirements. Rather, I meant that being _unaware of_ or _incapable of acknowledging_ one's own symptoms is often a functional component of the disorder that's causing them. There are, as I mentioned, exceptions: OCPD, Schizophrenia, etc. I mean, if a potential client went to a qualified mental healthcare worker for an assessment, the councilor would surely find it odd if the client could both accurately identify their own disorder, as well as expound upon all the traits they saw in themselves and how those traits negatively impacted their life and the lives of those around them. In the case of many disorders, not being able to perceive the symptoms is a big part of how the disorder negatively impacts a person's life. NPD, BLPD and delusional thinking in general, are great examples of this. If they were aware of the condition, this would go a long way towards treating or maybe even curing the condition. As for kids diagnosing themselves with the help of the internet; the only way to know for sure is to be evaluated by a qualified professional, not some RUclipsr or automated quiz. But if those helps a person to decide to seek qualified help, good! The point is, social media alone should never be regarded as an adequate means of assessing or treating anyone. And, by the way, having traits belonging to a personality disorder and actually having that personality disorder are different things. Most people have a smattering of personality traits that range a bit higher or lower than average. That does not necessarily mean that they have a "disorder."
On the Bad Guy with Bad Qualities bit, you're referring to what some people call, "literally me." Characters. They're characters that some (mostly guys) resonate with either due to sharing something with their personality, philosophy, or station in life. The most common character for Literally Me Characters is pretty much anyone that Ryan Gosling plays. The entire shtick with Patrick Bateman is that he's "trying to fit in." but that him trying to fit in alienates him from his own individuality. He's just like all the other guys at the office, and it drives him crazy. "It's hip to be Square". They all look the same, dress the same, act the same, and he's even confused for being somebody else. This leads to a bloody psychotic rampage as it being the only way of expressing the real "Patrick Bateman". Tyler Durden is more of a Millennial thing. The empty meaningless existence full of empty meaningless crap, that is completely devoid of purpose, devoid of meaning. "We are the middle Children of History, Our War is a Spiritual War. Our Great Depression, is our lives." And the way to searching for meaning is expressed through Project Mayhem, blowing up the banks, and beating the shit out each other. There are other characters/movies like The Joker, Drive,Taxi Driver, Blade Runner, Falling Down that have the same thing as well but it's almost an entire genre at this point.

My first in-game purchase was extra song packs for Rock Band.
Celestial Steed in Wow. I should have been more strong willed...💯😭🤣😂
I love that these are an hour and a half, keep me distracted from work😅
As usual, incredible episode. Keep up the awesome work!
Waking up to a new steak and eggs episode already makes my day.
Love this podcast and they are gaslighting about the seat switches
I do agree with Tectone though. I don't know if there are many WWE fans here, but CM Punk was such an amazing heel. What a guy.
The amount of times tectone said "that's badass" in this episode = 8+
Bloody hell, listening to Zack and Emi is like remembering things I've said to people for years.
Tectone's opening line made me think I was having a stroke
"I don't understand why they ask me a question and I'm only allowed to answer a specific way" -> Maybe, but delivery of how you say it helps a lot too lol
Tectone is hilarious. Goes from "Me best gamer ever" to "Oh i just like to play easy games"
First ingame purchase? First external was lineage 2 right before wow release to buy adena (currency) if we're not counting subscriptions, if we're counting subscriptions it was either wow or lineage 2
1:04:56 best part, Tectone clarifying had me dying of laughter
1:16:51 My favorite moment of this podcast ever..."That's badass"😂
teaser at beginning was good and clever. keep doing it
Its Friday again, lovin this pod
all 3 would totally be my friends in school. even tho they are all kinda diffrent. Seem so nice and fun like always
I can't stop looking at the windows knowing they're fake.. Despairge
They will go out one day...
No! Why?! ..you just had to break the illusion.. first the TV now this?! TT_TT
they aren't fake? am i missing the joke?
@@bigbadsauce92 Eh, I assume it's a set & the windows are CG like the TV. Or they actually are in a basement & im just conspiracy brained. Who knows~
@@bigbadsauce92Windows are fake af watch the livestream episode.
8:05 battle passes where invented by DOTA2
thanks for another great episode keep it up guys. can't wait for the special
Someone needs to tell Asmon that long hair look really good on him.
This episode by far has made me laugh so much. I enjoyed watching the entire episode from start to finish. One of the best moments was tectone not understanding taxes.
What is this AI sounding comment 😂
@RakdosMC for sure a chat gpt generated comment.
tectone: "its like a, its like a, its like a, its like a, its like a, its like a..."
asmon:"True".
I can't take this anymore go back to the old seating order!!!! 🤣
I think the way they are sitting now is perfect
Im short, loud and messy, I feel attacked D: 😂
Asmondgold trying to teach tax structure warms my heart. It also tells me that people should probably educate themselves on these topics...
LOL NOT TECTONE AND ASMON THINKING TATE IS AWARE 😂
BDO is older, but damn those graphics still look great. Back then it was amazing, grinding for ogre ring early morning for fewer contested spawns was a good time. I am also exploiting gbfr, been running macros for hundreds of hours. Get what you can before things get patched
Emi is of course the only one who is not out-of-touch here. This podcast has made me realize just how dumb Tectone is & how skewed Asmon’s world is
What made asmons world view skewed?
Found the ELEPHANT in the room
Lets go! Another week, another great podcast episode to watch!
I love that Chappell joke Asmon quoted
Let's go baby!!! 50 episodes!!!
I kind of want a meme edit of Asmon trying to explain the tax system to Tectone and him just not understanding.
fellas is being short a sin
No, being short and not being a femboy is a sin
I think whoever is in the green chair should be the one who brings the main topics for the week pods
Mizkif hair transplant
I thought the same.
100%
Yep I commented it then saw this I agree
Isnt rhat guy bangs lmao dont see a time wherein he coukd recoup a surgery and prepping ironforge
Idk if miz had a hair transplant he would have more hair. My guess is Knut. Body builders are usually bald
42:55 someone had to say it, this is why I like techtone now
this episode just reaffirms my dislike for tectone lmao dude has some of the worst takes ive ever heard. asmon and emi carry this thing on their back
word. I can't stand him more and more. his take on knuts daughters education some weeks ago was the final straw for me.
Tectone think he ain't gnna enjoy any fights after owl until he fights the sword saint, he's missing out on one of the most epid boss fights of all time
lies of P is better than any of the souls game honestly, don't know wtf tectone is talking about
I never understood how asmon kept his beard trimmed regularly, but couldn't shower more than once every 3-4 weeks. A shower literally takes 5 mins just like trimming his beard does. I wonder what he does differently in the shower than most people, that makes it seem like so much extra work/stressful.
Tektone talking about how owl is the best fight when he's 1 boss away from ishin
Its funny how short is listed as negative a trait as loud and messy.
You should have a series where Tectone introduces Asmon & Emi to pro wrestling.
I am very confident that it has in fact not been over a year that Tectone has said "That's badass" LOL
Asmon: I thought about throwing things away.
Also Asmon: It would be easier for me to just move somewhere else. It's so bad.
Tectone: Ok. Let's do that!
Asmon: Oh, I don't know about that.
Immediately gets anxious on the idea.
Tectone not knowing what taxes are has to be a troll bit
1:16:50 handsdown best Asmon quote of all time 🤣🤣
Asmon doesn't cheat or exploit. He engages in a "clever use of in-game mechanics", Ensidia style.
Tectone's obnoxious "I still don't get it" after saying "yeah" over and over. Is infuriating.
34:00 honestly you do start to like it after a while though.Especially cardio.
Gaia Online mention from tectone lol what a throwback. I was playing that shit in 2007 and scamming people with gift boxes telling them it had the most expensive shop items in it when it was just a single trash item. My avatar was so sick until I got perma banned.
I never understood how Tec got 1m in debt, then he said he just loves battlepasses and spending money on things he loves.... it all made sense.
Afaik most of the debt was him borrowing money for a house from Austin from Mizkif
