I saw this live at Riverfest here. I'm a huge gaga fan and was invited to the concert by my family who was leaving for a month long trip the next day. I really didn't think I was going to like it,but I'm kinda suprised it game out SO good!!!
Kudos for a group that shares the camera with the band. And they do a nice job with it. Stripped down, nicely served. I've only heard Gaga do this once. I prefer the Weird Al version. But this is a brilliant song. We are all 'born this way' - in one way or another. (and we all 'perform this way' - or that, too)
@Sam7svu Lady GaGa wrote this as a love song of sorts to her fans, the majority of whom are members of the LGBT community who are treated as second class citizens and face sometimes harsh personal criticism, so there's a reason they are specifically mentioned. It's MEANT to be a wink and a nod toward them, as if to say, "I see you and I'll celebrate you when no one else will." So while the essence of the song may be there, they just rip its soul out by omitting the chorus.
I never even noticed there were lines missing. For me the message and meaning of the song still comes out clearly without being SO specific. Are we really a generation that needs EVERYTHING spelled out for us, I think we can come to our own conclusions to what the song is really about. Excellent cover by an extraordinarily talented band.
Holy shit... :o This is freakin awesome... I love LBT to begin with but acoustic LBT is a whole other level.. the harmonies gave me goose bumps lol... fcking loved this... :D
at least they said a different lover is not a sin... but lets not forget.. this is country.. The whole song is about acceptance.. and they just censored the hell out of it.. if you're not going to give the song its full integrity don't do the song at all.. otherwise you are taking her creativity and using it for your own benefit without giving her the credit she deserves.. if she didn't want "no matter gay straight or bi... " in there she would have left it out.. do it right LBT.
They sang this at the festival in Houston last month. They did the whole song and it was way more AWESOME live! They can sing anything and it sound good!
if you are going to cover born this way you need to not miss out no matter gay, straight,or bi lesbian transgendered life im on the right track baby i was born this way which you seamed to have over looked
This is me personally; I'm glad they skipped it, regardless of their reason. First, let's assume for 'this video' that this was a warmup before the show that night (they are in a hallway, most likely not far from their dressing room) and so I expect the main objectives are to warm up the vocal cords and get in sync. (I used to spend a lot of time with a metal band in Nashville)(I was even an unofficial roadie/drum tech) none of which makes me an expert in squat. But I couldn't help paying attention to this band and the other bands that would be performing on any given night. It could be as the other commenter suggested that they avoided it to stay clean for their label. I don't even suggest to know if a single member of that band considers themselves as Christians or not, so I won't bother with that. But I'm a Christian and myself like the members of LBT are adults and have seen nearly everything that one should expect. So I doubt they're prudes or naive. I absolutely don't support anything other than straight, heterosexual relationships, but to each his/her own. As to race, again, that's up to whoever is involved. I won't say anymore and invoke my 5th Amendment right. I do actually think that this was merely warm up right before going on stage. But how would I know for certain.?
Truly a great cover because it takes the sound of the song in a whole new direction. That said, the original and even more so Gaga's acapella version are superior.
Great version of Gaga. Please cover "Poor Elijah". Check out the Delaney and Bonnie acoustic version with Eric Clapton, Dave Mason & Bobby Whitlock. LBT are the only band capable of remaking this great tune and doing it justice. PLEASE!!!!
@ramblinmanash as much as i LOVE this cover, i have to agree with you.... I think it's sad that they were too afraid to sing that part.. It's kinda pointless to cover a song if you are going to leave out the core message of the song...
I finally feel compelled to make a comment; the guy playing banjo looks just like vintage Shane Caldwell. If that doesn't ring a bell, search him right here on RUclips. Or better yet, start here: ruclips.net/video/9J7sVZd69uw/видео.html
I'll be at the show on Feb 21st in Indy... I think this version is better than Lady Gs. I am not a fan of hers but I am a fan of LBT. Honestly, I do not like country music at all. But I tolerate Little Big Town. This will be the 1st country concert I have ever been to. I have been and seen Sawyer Brown a couple of times, dont' know if ya call him country. Rest of em been ACDC, Metallica, Crue etc. Rock N Roll. The voices make this band.
@jrevel1123 @hhjellybean @rg0057 @ramblinmanash and all those others who are saying they left out that whole part, it's because someone made them do it for this specific webisode. At most of their shows they do the FULL version so don't hate because they were forced to shorten it and leave that part out.
It is a great cover, but as in the acronym of their name they fell short of the true meaning in the song by leaving out the whole reason that equality is being sung about... so LGBT is reduced the LBT... minus the 'G'.... I hope when they record this officially they brave making the full song, because their sound is beautiful. It would be a shame if they don't embrace the song completely.
I think they left the extra lines out because otherwise the song is really long and it will get fewer hits. (RUclips tracks views by play throughs, so a person has to make it to the end of the song.) Why would they cover the song and share it if they didn't believe in its message? They DID sing the "no matter who you love" part.
I was disappointed about that, too. If you don't stand behind the song fully, then don't cover it. There's another cover version on youtube where they included those lines though.
Seeing as they're so offended by the heart of the song that they omitted it completely, I'm curious why they chose to cover Lady GaGa at all since she lives and breathes for the LGBT community. They may as well have written their own Christian anthem instead of cutting up a song about love and self-acceptance for their own purposes and press. Shame. Because the real beauty would have been if they'd had the courage to sing the song in the spirit it was written.
i admit great cover, too bad you could not Embrace the song and its message completely. and btw this band did not upstage gaga. it was her concept her creation her vision. Gaga has her own country version of Born This Way.
i would love this song if anyone other than lady gaga sang it. Born this way? A glam rock outcast with a cocaine problem and an inferiority complex, yeah that's how she was born.
I was just thinking that I would love to hear a country version of this song. Thanks, my friends.
❤❤❤🐾
I can totally envision this being played and sung by those country jamboree bears at Disney Land ..
My! What an attraction🎻🖤🎼🖤🐾
This is what I love...artists enjoying music and having fun with it, especially when it's not their own songs. Awesome.
I LOVE THIS "COVERVERSION" !!!! 🤠 😊 😊
LBT is every reason I love country music.
That dude picked a banjo 🪕 amazingly ❤
Love that they make it their own. Total gift!
I really love theses guys keep up the good work

'her' creativity is what some of us find unlikeable.
I rather have listen to this as it is than have heard nothing at all because this is fu#€&ng great

Sensacional. Fã brasileiro.
Essa loira me lembrou a Sarah Jessica Parker.

I bet they did that on purpose so county music still accept them and not cancel them out.
This is me personally; I'm glad they skipped it, regardless of their reason. Truly a great cover because it takes the sound of the song in a whole new direction. That said, the original and even more so Gaga's acapella version are superior.

Love it!!! Better than the original!!
They filmed this at ETSU last Sunday :)
Bad a$$ !
@ramblinmanash I agree. If Maria Aragon can perform this song un-edited, then so can they. It didn't seem to harm her popularity.
!!
They filmed this at ETSU :)
Holy smokes! Amazing cover, LBT just upstaged Lady Gaga. They should definately do this bluegrass version while on tour.
Oh snap! Lady Gaga just got p-owned!
PRAISE CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This version is not a gay song!! You can be born alot of different things!!Jesus Christ is Lord!!!!
It is a great cover, but as in the acronym of their name they fell short of the true meaning in the song by leaving out the whole reason that equality is being sung about... so LGBT is reduced the LBT... minus the 'G'....

@oktomcat aka but a typo caus i was multi tasking
@designck disappointed too....but at least on the live versions they sing it right.
2019 anyone?????
I think they left the extra lines out because otherwise the song is really long and it will get fewer hits. (RUclips tracks views by play throughs, so a person has to make it to the end of the song.) Why would they cover the song and share it if they didn't believe in its message? They DID sing the "no matter who you love" part.
You know it's country..when they leave the LGBQ out..Acceptance..Inclusion..is what the song is all about.
I was disappointed about that, too. If you don't stand behind the song fully, then don't cover it.

I love upright bass players... :)
i admit great cover, too bad you could not Embrace the song and its message completely. and btw this band did not upstage gaga. it was her concept her creation her vision. Gaga has her own country version of Born This Way.

Whatever, don't like her if you don't want to, but don't be so judgmental.
i would love this song if anyone other than lady gaga sang it. Born this way? A glam rock outcast with a cocaine problem and an inferiority complex, yeah that's how she was born.

Homophobic
