- My good friend Demetrius and I where invited to the anual Fly-In BBQ event that Catalina Island "Airport In The Sky" hosts ever summer. We had a great time meeting new aviators sharing stories as well as eating some amazing food. I would like to thank Jeffrey Robert Moss or "MossY" for setting this entire thing up for us as well as Demetrius for inviting me! Overall we had a wonderful time and we're looking forward to coming back next summer!
Once again a BIG thanks to my good friend Demetrius for inviting me to come along on this flight, as well as "MossY" for setting everything up! On a side note getting to meet and speak with A380 Captain Arwyn was truly an honor, incredible guy!

I take my boat out to Catalina fishing and I always wondered what the airport looked like. Thanks for the video. It really shows a lot. 👍
Great video mate, really enjoyed this one.
Thanks for watching it bud! :)
Fun times. A buddy of mine and I used to fly to Catalina quite a bit ourselves. We flew out of Long Beach.
I only found out about this airport because of Aussie flight sim. This was a beautiful video getting to see it in real life. Liked

I've flown to Sedona a number of times and have always been amazed at the views, but this...wow, this is next level amazing! Thanks.
Greetings from Phoenix, AZ.
Hey...that's the Hawthorne Airport. I used to live by there (72-84). Spent many a days riding my bike to this airport as a kid since it was only 6 blocks away from my house. Nice Vid.
Nice in-flight video!!
Thank you bud!

NICE CLIP,I FLEW THERE SO MANY TIMES,IF U DON'T MAKE THE LANDING IN 1 /3 OF THE RWY PLZ GO AROUND !
Great video....what camera are you using - so clear and stable!
Sony DSC-HX300
you hit ctrl-e, huh? Love the ultra-light.....
very professional, both of you..... that boat you closed up on is about where I got knocked down some steps on a fishing boat by a big wave a couple weeks ago.... ouch memory.
which one of you screamed at touchdown, KAVX?
AYO Mr. Victor! you are correct my friend! Ctl-E it was!
I know why you taxi so fast. At today's rates I would probably taxi even FASTER.
Was this Miachel S or Demetrius I flying?
Nice was this during the summer ?
Yup, just last weekend on the 6th. 9-6-14
Man man man man. How much would you charge mem to take me from KTOA to Catalina touch and go back to ktoa. I live real close to the airport.
Hopefully, the aircraft has a liferaft AND lifevests for all as theres about 33 miles of overwater flight involved, twice, about half the total flightime is over the most shark infested water AND in the most congested airspace in the world in this noisy, tight 172 for 3 or 4 touch-and-goes and back to base? At these prices in safety, time, money, etc. I question your idea of fun. Just asking. It seems like you're just skylarking, (flying for it's own sake) and that's usually dangerous, in this airspace at sea too, imho.
