I wish people would realize that term limits are not a constraint on politicians; they’re a constraint on citizens. If you are a liberty-loving person, your natural state should be anti-term-limits. Term limits are limits on liberty. Term limits tell the citizens - you and me - that it doesn’t matter how well you like a candidate. It doesn’t matter how successful the candidate has been, however you may define success. It doesn’t matter how many of your fellows support and would like to see a candidate continue in his office. If you vote for him, your vote will be thrown out. You will be disenfranchised. If a million of you write him in, since his name won’t be allowed on the ballot, then a million votes will be discarded. A million citizens will be disenfranchised. A million Americans will have the liberty of the vote stripped from them. A million Americans will have lost a basic right. Term limits are anti-liberty. The 22nd amendment was a tremendous mistake that should be corrected through repeal, not emulated and caused to proliferate throughout the body politic. Bad ideas should be rejected, not expanded. Of course there are profound problems associated with intransigent incumbency. There must be ways to ameliorate them short of voting our rights and liberties away. Term limits throw out the baby with the bath water. They are a case of saving the village by destroying it, of rescuing democracy by eliminating it. If we are concerned with “our democracy,” how on earth is the solution to eliminate the right to vote? Term limits are anti-liberty, anti-rights, anti-democratic and anti-American. They don’t limit the politician. They limit you.
Adam is really good at ignoring people at the airport. I seen him a couple times and then I tried it and he gave me the same treatment. I'm not shaming him or have an issue with it. I just wanted to share since this is a recent interaction and he's talking about the people ignoring him
