He said that John asked him about Stateville prison and my cousin Jake responded, "ya but we are not worried because Illinois District 5 State Police Headquarters is right across the street!" He said that he told John all about his band episodes in the Joliet area! I love Dan Akyroyd's passion on so many subjects, and it always shows in anything he has created or appeared in. I absolutely believe his self-diagnosis on the spectrum, because he can delve into the depths of things that most people wouldn't think twice on. He has absolutely leveraged it in his career.

Adam - ask Dan next time you see him about if John Belushi ever told him about meeting another musician in the hallway of a band audition for Second City in Chicago needing a band for their new show "Saturday Night Live" back in the early seventies I think, and having a long chat with him. It was my cousin and I heard this from his own mouth! His name was Jake Viscum and he was from Joliet Illinois (where I grew up). He said that John asked him about Stateville prison and my cousin Jake responded, "ya but we are not worried because Illinois District 5 State Police Headquarters is right across the street!" He said that he told John all about his band episodes in the Joliet area! Also in Joliet off Rt 80 (going to the now, Chicagoland Speedway as well as Route 66 dragway (where I used to race), you have to go through am very little town called "Elwood" Sounds familiar Hmmmmmmmmm!!! My cousin Jake said that after the movie came out, he wanted to get a hold of John to ask him about it but he never got the chance because Belushi OD'ed!

When asked by Adam: He Curiously did not promote "Ghostbusters 2024" or the smaller "Zombie Town" film he just did. Great interview. His 1970's memories were so vivid. As a Chicagoan I'm so glad to have finally met him working on "Crossroads" where he played Britney Spears father. "Blues Brothers" was part of all Chicago household lingo. Such a special movie. Saw it at the theater - age 7. Inspired!!! I blame and thank him for getting in film unions for 20 years.

    LOVE Crystal Head Vodka❕ 💀
Had no idea Dan Ackroyd was associated with/created Crystal Head.
    Speaking of Ackroyds....
Not sure if you'll read this Dan.
I met/partied with your brother Peter years ago (late 90's).
He was here in Sequim, Washington for an outdoor concert at the Airport.
He was the announcer for Delbert McClinton.
(Bonnie Raitt backed out last minute due to family emergency.)
    Anyhoo....
Got some good "taken from a real camera before cellphones" pictures.

GREAT GUY in person too! He's really nice
We all partied into the wee hours after his concert. He even signed my CD & concert program.
Lee Oskar played harmonica for Delbert at that concert too.
(If you're not familiar with Lee Oskar - he's famous for playing harmonica in the song: Lowrider. 🎵🎶 Low 🎵 Ri 🎵 der🎶🎵)
Lee not only gave me his harmonica (spit & all) he actually carried an etcher and signed the harmonica for me!

Aykroyd on SNL and the "BB's" movie was obviously legendary and Ustinov quote-worthy. But I wish more people(including Adam), would cover Dan's further work into the 80's like "Dr. Detroit" and other post-70's gems. Even with all of the UFO speculative rants and Sammy Hagaresque liquor salesmanship, Mr. Aykroyd is one of the most articulately gifted comedic minds since Newhart.
