Thank you so much Phil. I’ve watched a few videos on using voice control for taking photos and I was getting very frustrated. When I watched your video I completely understood and it worked. Thanks again
Totally agree with other viewers, this is the best video showing how to set up voice command for your camera. I'm normally very slow in following instructions, but Phil's video is spot-on. Now I can use voice command to take better photos, thanks to Phil's video.
Thank you Phil. You have made my life a whole world simpler as a beginning RUclips Creator. Suspect this will make editing a whole lot simpler by being able to start and stop recording when I need to change to different view angle with single phone as my camera. Bet I might be able to use multiple phones.
Thank you for marking a concise video. Other videos I have seen move about so fast I can’t keep up with the actions. I’ve never used voice commands. You have opened up a new world for me.
Thank You!!! I use Voice Control for hands free control of a LED sign while I drive. The Voice Control show numbers/Press number option is nice but requires me to know which number to press for my many non-offensive messages. Your gesture explanation has made it easier and faster to switch between my many messages. Btw, my default message is "⚠Caution⚠, Old man driving. I'm not in any rush." O!, I found that using thin clear plastic for an overlay which is secured with FrogTape on the back of the phone makes the process easier and faster.
Thanks Phil. It is helpful I tried to command " 123 snap " instead of take a single shot it take a one second video. I use my iPhone 12 Pro Max. Can you tell the problem Phil ? It could be a live shot but it still the same even I turn off live button. Much appreciate.
Yes. Your problem is that you need to 'tap' the shutter release button, don't hold it (for one second). Holding the shutter will take a video, which it is doing in your case.
The shutter button should remain in the same place in either Portrait or Landscape orientation, so this works either way. Do you notice that the position changes ?
@@HelpfulPhil Thanks for getting back to me, the button stays in the same place in all positions but only responds to voice in portrait orientation, must be a glitch eh? (iphone 7 running 14.4). Cheers.
Great video. Thanks. It works! I did notice that right after I set up voice control, I was texting and the text started typing words that were being said in the room I was in. The only application that I checked was the Camera application. Any ideas why this would happen? The Message application was the only application open at the time.
@@HelpfulPhil When I command my iphone to shoot a picture and my camera mode was photo, it did snap a while , but no actual picture was taken. When I switch my camera mode to potrait and gives the same command, picture taken successfully. I would love to see another video of yours doingn IOS voice shortcuts.
This is really only working solution. I really appreciate it. I used to use voice control to take pictures on Samsung as a default feature, but it was difficult to achieve on my new iphone. You upgraded it to better level. Thank You!
I think you'll have to re-record you press action as it likely recognised that you hit the button twice. Keep an eye out for my next video which shows a new 'easier' way to do this on iPhone 11's and newer.
Yes you can do that by holding the shutter button for about one second, using the same technique. You might be able to record video now with a shortcut voice command. I’ll check and make a new video if you can.
Straight to the point, none of the nonsense of the other unnecessarily complicated handsfree iPhone tutorials. Cheers!
Thank you so much Phil. I’ve watched a few videos on using voice control for taking photos and I was getting very frustrated.

Very helpful! thanks!
Thank you so much. This helped me a lot.
Super clear directions!
I’m Singapore sir, it started pretty difficultly but success at the end thank you kind sir!! Bless you!!
You are the best! I really enjoyed your solution to take photos with voice

Its work, thank you
It worked! Thanks so much. I didn’t have to do the paper thing but it worked 👍
It's a pity voice-shutter-activation on the IPhones isn't standard as it is on the S23/S24 phones. Nice & clear instructions though.
Thank you so much. There are plenty videos on iPhone camera voice control. But your video was the only one I could install it.
Using thin clear plastic for an overlay which is secured with FrogTape on the back of the phone makes the process easier and faster.
Thank you so much
I FINALLY got my Voice Command to work by starting over and following your instructions ~ THANK YOU!!
I messed up my phone so badly the 1st time 😅

Very useful thanks
This perfectly suits my needs. Thanks very much!
Thank you
Thank you so much!!
I have been trying to do this for five years! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Perfect & Professional and easy to understand presentation - many Thanks , all the Best.
Helpful Phil, knowing what phone you have would be helpful to me. Apparently I need to buy a phone that has the option.

@@HelpfulPhil it works OK, Thanks Phil .
Very helpful thank you, it only works in portrait mode though not landscape, is there any fix for this? cheers.

@@glendagobstoppa3033 I suggest you try to re do it tapping as exactly on the button area as possible. Good luck.

voice control also works in any open application in which you might normally 'type'.
@@philbinks thanks
I wonder why is it only Potrait pictures can be taken thru your voice control?
Anyway, great video and helpful.
Do you mean Portrait shape (i.e. upright) or Portrait Style ? Either way there should be no restriction. Try Apple's new voice shortcuts in iOS 18

Thank you! My iOS is way to old and the menus all look differently but I'll look into this more, maybe even my phone can do it :)

Wonderful!
Nice
I added this and it works fine but for some reason the camera takes a second photo a second later. Is there a way to eliminate the second.

@@HelpfulPhil Thank you
this is indeed useful
Jeeez Apple! Wow how about a simple button. This is an advanced course.
I tried but it did not allow me to save as new command! So I could never use it. Thank you for your video
the latest iOS should allow this. If you are on an older version it may be that the feature failed.
Voice control no longer works when the camera app is on. iOS 15, any ideas?
yes I added a note to the video description that Apple broke it in iOS 15.
It does not work now that I have upgraded to operating system 15. Any suggestions?
As stated in the video description. Sadly apple don't seem to have fixed this as of 15.1. Fingers crossed for a fix in the next update.
It won’t work for me????!!!! Plzzzz help I’ve tried a dozen times 😫😤😭🤬
Does this work with iOS 15.1?
Sadly Apple hasn’t fixed the Custom command feature in iOS 15.1 - let's hope for a fix in a subsequent release
Awesome
I don't have the voice control option.
...keep looking. What iOS version are your running.
Mine has failed
Have you tried to set it to record video?
Yes you can do that by holding the shutter button for about one second, using the same technique.
You might be able to record video now with a shortcut voice command. I’ll check and make a new video if you can.
thank you
