Vibrating Shoes Warn Blind People to Obstacles in Their Path

- There are already smartphones and smart watches, so why not smart shoes? At least one company thought about that and how they could help the blind. Emanuel Zuendel is mostly blind and has used a cane to detect obstructions in his path. Now he has InnoMake shoes, which detect objects up to 10 feet in front of him. When the shoes detect an obstacle, they send a signal to the user by vibrating or by making a sound on the user’s smartphone. Inside Edition Digital’s Mara Montalbano has more. #InsideEdition
That shouldn’t even cost that much if it’s about helping blind people.
But then If they cant earn any money they cant afford to make any more shoes DUhEhdhhHHHhHhhHhHh
This company scamming the blind.
hopefully in the future more technological advancements will be made and they can find a way to decrease the production cost.

People don’t have to buy it if they don’t want to it’s not scamming! They have to cover costs just like any company or product!
When he's walking through a crowded place
Signals going off
Glad the blind have something to lean on. They have something to help them in daily life :)
Hopefully this becomes widely accesable for the blind who aren't so financially privilaged
4k$ don't sound like something to lean on to me.
@@togenlogen5890 Now they have technology on their side. They can sense people instead of poking them with a stick, this is like new support to them...
@@ninomecaj5113 Yeah and I'm just saying let's not make them go broke trying to get help with something they can't control.
@@togenlogen5890 Oh, I thought you meant something else, my fault sorry
For that price they could have made them look more like a shoe.
Underrated comment
Lol
true, but to be honest i dont think these users will care what their shoes "look" like
I think its more for the benefit of alerting others that the person is also blind and is using aid. If they looked like regular shoes and had inbuilt sensors no one would know.
I can make it for fraction of the price
Put fancy parking sensors on our feet would be cheaper. £4.000 that's too expensive. Great idea though.
Just wait chinese make their copy
If it’s too expensive for you just stick with a stick
Idea is planted, the idea will become better and more affordable
We've already found something a million times better. Seeing eye dogs...
$4000 not £4000 it's a big difference
Wait 5 years and you'll find them at the dollar store.
its bound to happen
Lol no there not
I mean...
Well now that he put his idea out there there’s bound to be nike air forces blind editions and stuff like that for cheaper
They look like attachments for a shoe, they should probably do that
might drop the price by a few thousand if they did
4000 dollars for vibrations with sensors if I studied into that I could put it together for 200 for my grandma
Thanks for all the likes 👍
or less
Lol
well its new so its expensive. in the future when they make more products of it, the money decreases
Almost looks like a BBC microbit, some Lidar sensors, and a 3d printed case.
I was thinking the same thing $4000 is too much $200 might be better
"smart shoes" yeah, you're not wrong.
What
You're*

@@surgeonmikechriskelltie4005 Thanks
That’s a great idea in principle! Those shoes can help so many blind people, but they really need to make them better looking and way more affordable. Give it some time, and this can be widespread for the blind.
Maybe more affordable but why would a blind person care what they look like?
We do a little troll.
4000 isn't helping blind people. It's taking advantage of there misfortune.
yea
They're probably still expensive to make.
@@danielolugbodi6504 I likely think it's not that much to make it if you really want to help the misfortune.
@Prod. Cheesy Flows it's likely motion sensor technology and to input that into a shoe and a way that works is more complicated than you think
This is new so expect it to be expensive jesus also it can save his life. I really wouldnt mind if i had to spend 4k for a device that could save my life
This is good but there should be one for their head too. Saw a guy walk into the back of a high face level truck, he had his stick but there was nothing bellow him to warn him what was coming up right in front of his face.
@Matthew Croshaw they'd be going off every second.
We have smart phones, smart watches, even smart shoes, but no smart humans to help anyone.
That makes no sense lol, how would there be all these things without smart humans to make them.
@@Fantastic_Stranger Exactly.
Yeah it sucks just how ai is just helping humanity not humans itself
@@Fantastic_Stranger well true i meant we invented the ai
@@Fantastic_Stranger it's meant like idiots from tik tok
4000????? i could literally make that with a few AI tools and arduino right now
Then do it & sell it for less
Do it you’d probably do better
Do it
Do it
dew it
One day the blind won’t need a cane.
One day the blind won’t even be blind
One day blindness will be nonexistent
Then one day, we'll all be blind.
@@guacolea *then one day is going to be the second day of the first day*
Hopefully something like the star trek visor will become a reality.
Finally some good news
Why is he using the stick if it works?
For back up, I guess
Well that seems too expensive for that simple mechanism.
well why dont you try to make one of those
@@retsreinyrelgeinthrelaveri1456 I doubt it cost more than $1000 to make 👌😂
I bet you could make one for $20
@@retsreinyrelgeinthrelaveri1456 garage sensors don't cost $4000 each. They're just garage sensors with an alarm.
@@ric8806 You need to make a profit somehow
That’s good for blinds i don’t need one Thank you God 🙏
"I guess I could put my nose on my phone now!"
Lol
My brother would love to have one of those. Too bad he passed away last week. Rest in Paradise, Utol Ralph.
This much better than the third eye camera which is for those people that cant take away their eyes to their phone while walking, but this is so expensive.
$4000 Dollars for a technology that already exists for less than $5 in hardware and software cost, Wow.
That’s amazing!!! Great job to the business that created this!
Beautiful
Props to the designers who thought of this and made it.
I love this. And its more things to be created for people who really need something different
Someday we will have 3D printed organs
"invest meme" template* intensifies
Amazing
This is so wholesome. :)
1:03 so much for being useful he nearly still hit the pole.
Imagine walking down LA and your phone won’t stop buzzing
Glad to See the blind have somthing to Look forward too.....
he really gonna want a refund when he walks into something hanging..
Considering the target audience I don’t think they were too concerned about how their products “look” lol
I sent this video to my ex since he’s blind ( he’s my ex but still friend) we broke up because my health ment I needed more help than he could do plus I could not help him as much as before
I wish I would have thought of this idea
Cool idea!
WALKS THROUGH A CROWD
:
God Bless the person who came up with this idea
Now this is the future
4K?? Wow... But great job for inventing it
Good idea
Yeah, some people just need to open their eyes sometimes to see problems
Apart from looking like a Elf, it's a good idea. Sehr Gut!!
Gotta get that cost down!
They should have this as a cane or a wrist band that does the same this like those.
A boy from my school has the same cane
With my luck, I would still crash into things😂😂
His eyes look crazy while he’s talking
For those people who say there is nothing new to invent.
What if someone steals the shoes or the device it self?
I need this for stairs at night
Had a stroke reading the title “To Obstacle In Their Path”.
What about when something at head height but not shoe hight
My dad had an electric heart so at night there is an alarm that goes off if the power is out or a malfunction, he has 20 minutes before death. Because he was deaf an engineer created a vibrating pillow for his alarm which was so cool and helpful. I love innovation like this!
What if they make an eyeglass that connects to an earpiece. The Eyeglass is a camera and it will tell the person about his/her sorroundings through the earpiece. But it only works for the blinds not for the Blinds with hearing problems. Like an A.I that gives you directions.
This is RIDICULOUS
So if your phone dies youre screwed
Question:don't the shoes also detect the stick tat he uses to walk?
When someone invents something like this I’m always like
Why didn’t I think of that
Pretty cool
Genius 👍
*$4000??? FOH! The blind may not see money but sure can feel it leaving they pockets.*
Amazing Technology.
Toph Beifong is proud, seismic sense tech version 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
That signal would be going off all the time
THAT'S GREAT
They should just open their eyes damn
Imagine if someone keep messaging him in his phone keep vibrating and he might mistake it as a warning
I need one when I am riding my bike and I am texting 😂😂😂
So can this shoes detect a desk?
The funniest part. Is that a blind person will never see this video
That’s kind of interesting. I like the idea
Oh Nice! Now I can cross the street and my vibrating shoes can warn me before I get hit by a truck. :)
The title made me think I was blind.. was inside edition in a rush ?
Governments should help people aquire them .
I'm blind and I coud see that the product looks pretty great
Great innovative gadget:)
I wonder if they’ll make them smaller like everything else.
Nice help other
Gosh people keep thinking of new things when I spend every day looking at objects and thinking of stuff that already exist haha. Like oh , we need something to open doors...oh knobs
Imagine putting him in a maze 😂
They should make a glove that does same thing, they would have double protection
thats cool
Imagine what blind people will be able to do when they see these
I laughed but it’s so cruel 😂😂
This is really amazing, through these years technology has been getting better. I wonder how advanced our civilization gets from 50 to 1000 years.
This man is so good at cod
Actually it's a Brilliant Invention I hope one day they update it🤔
I want vr equipment to hurry up and advance to the stage where it can connect our brains so we all can see and play games without controllers. that would be nice
HONESTLY THIS IS PRETTY COOL AND THIS HELPS BLIND PEOPLE AND I LOVE IT THIS IS GREAT KEEP IT UP 👍
Too expensive to help blind people.
@@kayla7562 YES THE NEED TO MAKE IT CHEAPER
4k why didnt just put like the buttons that give you shocks they have pens like that and stuff for like 10$
Blind people will be happy when they see this!
I made this same thing 3 years ago but with a cane and it costed me less than 50 dollars. Btw I’m 15 and you can check one of my other inventions on my channel
Smart stick
That's pretty cool but what if it's mistaken for a camera
Wait so when the cane goes in front of the shoes it doesn’t vibrate?
Signs hanging from buildings....
I'M bout to end this man's career
Question and I'm curious, how does a blind person uses a smartphone?
