With the launch of the Audi Q3, the firm has entered the growing market for crossovers - cars which look like big, chunky off-roaders, but are as easy to drive and economical as a family hatchback. The Q3 is a direct rival for the BMW X1, MINI Countryman and Range Rover Evoque, and is built to Audi's usual high standards. Interior quality is excellent, and there's space for five inside

I have one of these - previously owned a X3 and i love it! Didn't regret switching to Audi for a second.
Thanks to this great review I will be getting my tomorrow just in time for the snow. I have tried the BMW X1 and in my opinion the Q3 is in a different league. I found the X1 cramped and uncomfortable. Until I can afford an RS6 the Q3 will do the job and do it well.

@@jairiangrowyourfood6659 Sorry for the late reply. A great car. I had the TDI 170 Quattro. I’ve now got a Volvo XC60 another lovely car but I do miss the Audi for the sheer fun factor.

So the Sportback is not going to be killed...great to know. Hadn´t noticed that thing with the lights on the bumper. That is why I love german cars, all these details show you that they are the only ones who know how to make cars and that people need to feel special and enjoy driving, to make it in a safe way. Hell, I remember the details my dad´s 1982 520i had, comparing them to japanese plastic boxes, lol...thank you for the comment.
Hi Matt how would you rate this with a Tiguan? I hv just test driven both today and I must say I was less than impress with the q3's lack of boot space cabin space and noisy cabin. The vw just seemed a lot family worthy.

The new A3 first comes out as the 3 door, then the sportback and sedan version. The parking lights on the boot go off, because they switch to lights found on the bumper (why have lights on when they're pointing to the sky ;-))
No mention of the hard touch plastics on the lower dashboard or that the design inside looks like 1990?

So how it's adjusting heating fan speed or temp, does it take 10 easy steps while not looking at the traffic ahead like in the larger Q5, or they got is easier on the Q3?

Why do the parking lights go off when the boot door is opened? Beautiful car, hadn´t driven an Audi before, but for budget reasons went from a 2008 E90 to a 2012 A3 Sportback. Like it a lot, although the change in feeling given by the steering is abysmal. Maybe I have to get used to it, but so far I like it a lot. And this comes from a BMW driver for 15 and more years, lol. If the new A3 comes as a sedan I am sold, but will miss the Sportback version.
When will you test the new audi a4 facelift? And thx for another great review.

i dont like that the rear lights are built into the boot cause say you've got a really big thing that won't fit in the boot and you have to have the boot half open ive seen people do that before, well u cant cause the lights wont work when the boot is open look at 1:53 ull see the lights turn off.

It's funny you should mention Saab's because the Cadillac BLS which was sold in the UK and Europe was based on a Saab 9-3. They also sell the CTS but neither cars sell well. Apparently Cadillac are planning on selling the new ATS here too and it looks pretty good although the lack of a diesel engine makes me think it might be another low seller as diesels are extremely popular over here
I've seen the interor. Honestly the built quality of the car is so amazing that even this boring interor feels special.

Q3 is only better than Evoque in gear box, Q3 has better throttle response.. Apart from that RR is beautiful.

@Mystyfication thats the leather/alcantara version. its free so don't moan about it. you can get textile or full leather all the way.

Try sitting in the middle rear. No place to put ur foot due to drive shaft going to rear wheel. Wish it was flat like the CRV

the sat mav sistem brocked i had problem with climet control and it was not a cheap version it was an 2.7 tdi quatro avant automatic i dont speack about fuell cuz you can imagine that never went under 14% liters even highways but that was not the problem i knew that will happen so i sold it and tried the mercedes e class witch i like better
i bought this car because in it has no downsides haha! most of the other cars reviewed has it downsides halfway through the video

You shouldn't say "all cars get climate control". Climate control was standard 10 years ago. You should be more specific, e.g. all cars get automatic climate control.
Well, you should compare Q3 to X3. Save your comments on the X1 when Q1 comes out.
I wouldn't see the point spending an extra £6k on a Q5. Theres only 10 inches in length between the two, 2 inches in height and 3 inches in width. The Q3 dash is more up-to-date and in my opinion a lot nicer. Also the Q3 is lighter and better economy. X1 is really bad compared to the Q3 but the X3... now thats a car you'd buy.
no, the Q3 is same size as X1. Q5 is compared with X3.

do they sell Caddys in England? I know they sell Corvettes over there under their own brand but does Caddy have a presence there at all? If so, it must be in such small numbers that a review seems a waste of time. Kind of like it would be to review Saab (even before it went under :P)

@Dragonashuu I had on sort of premiere of Q3. As you can see it's not big car, so middle seat is...well it's fine, but not very spacious.

For the most people America is a Single continent If you google it in english it will appear 7 as US-americans appear to know their country to be the entire world, but if you look at it in spanish most probably you'll get 6, I searched it up in french, and there it is explained that 6 different models that can apply, in 4 of them America is a single continent. Even though Mexico is in North America, therefore the Audi Q3 is available in AMERICA & NORTH America as well if you like so

Didn't expect it to be that good. But my god, how I hate that imitation of leather on the seats they use in most models now. A couple of years ago it hardly existed

Hmm, i guess. The Q3 is more for people who like to go "Ah, it's a nice relaxing drive". The X3, like other bmw, is for fun driving and practicality
@investor27 Nothing at all. It's a solid car that drives well, and has great features. It's just a little pricy to maintain, and I think the Q3 looks a little nicer.

@DukeofSerbia FWD is cheaper than FWD? Sorry i don't get it you... Anyway there's no way that AWD is more economic than FWD, i don't get why everyone hates on FWD so much, it's like AWD/RWD is the best and safest thing in the world. This thing got power, i don't care if it is not AWD or RWD.
That's because you have to compare the X3 to the Q5
