- The Audi Q3 is a small crossover that competes with cars such as the Nissan Qashqai, BMW X1, Range Rover Evoque, MINI Countryman and Volkswagen Tiguan. Its conservative looks are little different to the rest of the Audi range, but - as with other Audis - they hide a classy, well built interior. The Q3 also offers more space inside than a Volkswagen Golf, despite being roughly the same size.

You don`t have to be firm with it, just have to push-and-hold. A safety feature, you know...
This drives very smoothly compared to the new X1 and GLA ... This was not even on our list, but after test-driving, couldn't fault it! GLA was amazing from the outside, but inside it felt very claustrophobic!! The X1 was also nice but you don't get choice of entry level petrols. The new 1.4 petrol in Q3 is really nice and gives almost the same mileage as the diesels!!! So do test drive it before deciding.
Wished they gave the interior a facelift too.. I really like the new grille and body-coloured panels though.
sabretoothz3 It's a fairly minor facelift, overall. Do you find the interior a bit bland?
Carbuyer Thanks for the reply! Fair enough, German cars tend to have fairly minor mid-life facelifts. Interiors are usually a strong point for Audi's though, so it was disappointing to see it not given the attention the exterior got. Compared with GLA and the new X1 it definitely looks drab and dated.

Hi there.!!! I do not understand why you say that the space is more like the golf. I have a golf 2007, wo years ago I bought a Q3 (i love it by the way) and I am pretty sure that your statement is not true!!
This review is too basic, get into some more detail as to how it drives (steering feedback, damping, body-roll, understeer).
I've driven one as a cortasy car and I have to say the ride is just aweful compared to my e60

Imran Mohammed An E60 isn't comparable to the Q3, they're in different classes. The body-roll is predictably going to be worse in the Q3, it's a bigger car. And a 4x4 wheel-drive version is only available in the 2.0. Will that help understeer? Unlikely, just look at the new R8.

It wouldn't end well for the audi if she reviewed its handling-steering...with that monumental understeer..
To release the boot, keep the button on the key pressed for a few seconds!

I'm not a fan of Audi's but at least on some of them the screen on the dash can be folded away unlike most cars.
The storage nets and auto tailgate are extras... Not included as standard in the SE trim!!

The Q3 design isnt good at all, what's happening Audi? It feels like they're going the wrong way. Even the interior looks plastic and cheap. Nah, shape up Audi. I actually would choose a VW or even Seat/Skoda over this (because of the price dif.).

Thing in the boot for?
AdvancedEliteGaming It covers up whatever you're transporting in the boot, so thieves can't see your laptop/gold bars when you're parked at the shops. It's good in a crash situation, so that luggage doesn't enter the cabin. But also, old people like to place a box of tissues and a straw hat on it, and rear passengers often use it to store bulky items of clothing that obscure the driver's view.

Utterly boring review and reviewer. The Mazda CX3 review makes that car much more desirable. Almost seems like a comparison between Q3 and CX3 to me - and the CX3 wins!
wrexel We've given them both 4.2 stars out of 5. They occupy slightly different places in the market, and aren't directly comparable, but the practical choice would be the (much cheaper) Mazda.
Carbuyer The problem you've got now is, because you do sponsored adverts for the VAG group, you can't do honest, critical reviews of their cars anymore and people are noticing how uncritical you've become when you do their products.....see how this sponsorship stuff is now effecting your channel.
Carbuyer Oooh, I take that back, she's actually critical at the end of this video!!! :). But, it has been noticed that your other VAG group reviews have lacked any negative points since the sponsorship thing started.
Carbuyer I've not driven the CX3 but I have driven the CX5 which I thought was as good as the Q3 - in fact in diesel form it was better. But the Q3 has this new petrol engine which is the first petrol engine I've preferred over a diesel. Even the Mazda salesman said that I'd probably find their petrol engines flat compared to the diesel I drive (Merc C220). The CX3 engines are nowhere near as powerful as those in the Q3. The more appropriate comparator is the CX5 not CX3.
There will be a time when it does not matter how they look, cos will all look the same just with different badges on them, it seems to be getting that way now if you check some models all the same stream lining.

That interior looks really cheap
as an audi fan i am unhappy with the direction theyre going in with the interior (particularly the dashboard layout/design) and the styling of the radiator grille

Q3 was (and still is) a disappointment from its launch date : it couldnt get the interior, nor the equipement any A3 can get (eg. Adaptive Cruise Control).
So yes it got 5 stars EuroNcap, but from 2011 (back when rating was different : electronic aids where not a criteria)
The only thing that's nice about it is the colour.
Audi styling has been, off lately. The A4 is fine, a bit techno future compared to the old Avant-garde metallic, formal suit look :(
Yes but its just fine. That's the problem. The new a4 looks like it debuted in 2010 and had a facelift..

I don't like the new Audi design language. It just looks a bit. Non-German really. The german cars have looked great, modern and classy but this just looks like a weird mix of too many angles that italians like to do with their super cars and some korean/japanese styling
the gearbox is probably a 7-speed, not a 6-speed

As to the Audi interior: if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Having experienced the Range Rover evoque and Range Rover sport over a few years we prefer the Audi and pleased to be back, as do our friends who’ve returned to Porsche from Range Rover.
150 horse power on a 1.4 petrol car? Jesus Christ how does that work?
That's generally in line with the HP/displacement ratio of most modern turbocharged cars. I recently drove a Peugeot RCZ R and was pretty amazed at how they got 270 hp out of a 1.6.

Paul Yeung I'm pretty sure its just a single turbo like the common VW 140ps 1.4l. The twinchared engine puts out ≈185ps

Audi cars look the same in the way that Fords look the same, ie similar designs across the range. Most manufacturers do that.

Paul Yeung Audi has never been a premium brand. Only Mercdes and BMW are considered premium of German cars. I really dont understand why on earth woul someone buy Audi? It's just more expencive VW.

This car does not seem price worthy. I would return at no question.
1. No sunglass compartment.
2. MMI console seems very compact (DVD slot uses unnecessary space), buttons are small, cheap and not easy to use.
3. Dashboard looks cheap for a 50k car. We expect more from AUDI. Interior materials are low end.
4. Trunk is comparatively small.
5. Did not experience any driving difference between D mode and S mode. S mode just makes unnecessary noise.
6. Staring wheel is lose. Does not feel same.

In what way? People buy them because they like the higher driving position, and ride comfort. At 46 with a bad back, i have a new 4x4 for that reason. Plus i live in an area prone to bad winters, so i wont get stuck. That is the point, hope it helps :)

High roof line? Makes me laugh. How could you possibly make such a statement when you are only 5 feet tall ?

About time Audi dropped that obsolete monstrous front grill. It has no practical purpose and it's still not a very nice design feature. Time to move on Audi.
