Many thanks for your very good, clear video. I was pleased to see that you offered written instructions to go with the video, but when I clicked onto this link, my Avast reported it had stopped a virus threat.
What type of yarn are you using, and where did you purchase it please. This is a great tutorial. I will make some for myself. THis is also special because everyone does fingerless, no one does gloves . Great tutorial. Thanks
+Marilyn Kolako Hi Marilyn Kolako, For more info about the project, please visit interunet.com/how-to-crochet-gloves-for-a-woman. I purchase it in my local craft store (michaels). Thanks for the comment. I appreciate it. Happy crocheting!
Yarn - Red Heart Shimmer / worsted - medium 4 / Net Weight - 100 g/ 280 yds (256 m) / 1/2 ball needed Hook - US F (3.75 mm) Hand Circumference - 7.9 inches (20 cm) . Link to the Written pattern is under the video.
Hi,I love your video that is very clear to me!I wondered how I could make this one for a kid, what do I have to measure,I am a beginner,a scarf is easy for everyone but when it comes to be the right measures it seems too hard for me:-(
Braveflowers Hi Braveflowers, It is up to you, but if you are a beginner, I would advise you to start with mittens first and then try gloves. To make the ribbing for the child's size gloves, you should work less rows (step2) until it will be long enough to wrap around the kid's wrist. To work the main part, it is necessary to pick up chains on the edge/border of the ribbing accordingly to the child's hand circumference. For example, my hand circumference is 7.9" and I chain about 5 chs in 1", so 7.9 x 5 = 39.5 chs. Then, I reduced the number by about 4% and got my 38 chs (interunet.com/how-to-crochet-gloves-for-a-woman). So, on the border of the ribbing, I picked up 38 chs. When it comes to picking up chains for the thumb and fingers, you need to do it also to their measurements accordingly. For beginners, it is better to try the gloves on from time to time to make sure that your measurements are correct and you keep the same gauge throughout. Happy crocheting!
I just found your video and I like it very much. I'm just starting in crocheting and I could use some help. Do you have any instructions on how to crochet the right hand glove, I'm not sure on how to place the thumb and fingers. Just reversing the pattern confuses me. Can you help?
I could follow the first part- the rib stitching but I needed more help with the second part. How many stitches should I have after round one second part? You mentioned picking up six or seven stitches - where? When? How many stitches should I have now? I now have two holes and a pinky finger. One hole is the thumb. What’s the first hole ? Mine is too long from the rib stitch to the start of pinky. I’ll try again
Hi Ann. Clay, For more info about the project, please visit interunet.com/how-to-crochet-gloves-for-a-woman. After the ribbing, I picked up 38 chs (step 4). For each thumb I picked up 6 chs (step 5). Happy crochet!
Thank you for video, this is my first time making gloves, how I make the fingers on the left hand side? Should I start pinky finger first or pointer finger first? how to do that?
Thank you SO MUCH. I looked every where for a video on how to crochet gloves but this is pure fate. Love it and what size yarn and needle did you use?😊 Thanks
Hi Mr&Mrs Hill-Henderson&Family, Please visit this webpage interunet.com/how-to-crochet-gloves-for-a-woman for more info about the project. I used less than one ball of yarn. Happy crochet!
Joy Ackerman Hi Joy Ackerman, I'm very glad that you are enjoying the video tutorial. For more info about the gloves, please visit interunet.com/how-to-crochet-gloves-for-a-woman. Thanks for the comment.
I've gone through this video plus your written instructions too but i couldn't find the instructions asto where to start the pinkie finger on the left hand glove. ive already started ribbing pls kindly let me know pls,pls pls. and anyways the video is excellent
+Rakhi Haldar Hi Rakhi Haldar, To know where to start your pinky or pointer finger, it is necessary to mark your sides in order to see better where your sides of each glove are. Then, use 5 chs from the front part of the glove and 5 chs from the back (palm of hand) part for each pinky and pointer finger. For the ring finger, use 4 chs from the front part and 5 chs from the back one. For the middle finger, use 5 chs from the front part and 4 chs from the back part. In order not to develop holes, it is necessary to pick up additional chains in between fingers.
+InterUnet Thank u so very very much for this detailed explanation, as i'm a beginner it proved to be of great help to me.thanks again for being so kind.
Hello. After doing wrist part. How many stiches do you pic up? I am sorry but I didn’t understand. & in caption it says City seven.. is it Thirty Seven ? Or Sixty Seven? Please confirm.
Can you explain to me (I am dyslexic so maybe this is why I don't get it) why there is a difference between the video and the written, I started with the video but because of connection problems went to the written which I have as saved pages there is a huge differences between the cuff rows and that's just the beginning... I am worried my gloves will be lopsided. The cuff in the video has 22 rows but the written has 23 to 24 which isn't a big deal until you take in mind that isn't the only difference...later step 4 the main part is 38 chain stitches apparently the video has a lot more then this...can you please give me an explanation as to why? As said before I am worried that it will be lopsided.
Karen R Hi Karen R, To pick up the 38 chs on the edge of the ribbing, you need to work [sc1 in/above one row, sc2 in the next row] to end of the round or work 3 chs on one rib (one rib is two rows). Happy crochet!
hi there, i apologise if this is an obvious question, I have watched multiple times and read the instructions and am still confused about the right hand thumb. the video demonstrates placing the left thumb seven stitches before the end of the round, however I do not see the the right and the math in the written instructions does not seem to add up. once you do fl/bl the pattern as indicated there are only 14 stitches remaining before the beginning of round 8, not 18 so I am very baffled. can anyone please help??
Hello, I bought some 100 % wool, from Ice Yarns. 100 grams. I used the 3.75 made 14 chains and then I tried a 4.25 they don't go around my wrist. I'm; afraid If I use a bigger hook, it wont' go with the yarn..the yarn tag suggerst 4.75 what do you suggest. Ready to get stated:)
+Marilyn Kolako Hi Marilyn Kolako, It is necessary to work ribbing rows as one flat piece until you crochet the desire length to fit around your wrist. You may work more chains than 14, but you do not have to adjust the initial foundation chain to your wrist accordingly. Please watch my other video how to crochet a ribbing - ruclips.net/video/T7_B3p7MjJg/видео.html. Then, on the edge of the ribbing, you will pick up stitches to your hand circumference accordingly. Happy crocheting!
Vercippu Hi Vercippu, It took me more than 40 minutes to crochet a glove, but I finished the project in one day. Hope it won't take you long to make the gloves also. Happy crocheting!
+joanne currie Hi joanne currie, For more info about the project, please visit interunet.com/how-to-crochet-gloves-for-a-woman (step 4). Happy crocheting!
Thank you for preparing this video!. I want to make them but I would like to know how much yarn did you use? and how can I make them bigger? (they are for a man). Thanks again!!
You're welcome, Melissa. I used about a half of the ball or 50 g (the link to the written instruction you may find in the description below the video). To make the ribbing wider, just crochet more rows until it covers the wrist. To make the main part of gloves bigger, I would measure the fullest part of a hand circumference (circumference around the knuckles). Then I would count how many stitches go into 1 cm or inch to know may gauge (tension). For instance, if the circumference around the knuckles is 22 cm and in 1 cm go 2 chain sts, you need to pick up about 44 sts on the ribbing edge. After you crochet a few rounds, it is necessary to try it on to make sure that your estimate is correct and the gloves are not too tight or loose.
I'm very hard of hearing and was able to follow along easily. Thank for counting stitches and using flowing movements. And for not splitting your tutorial into parts.
Anastasia Ye Hi Anastasia, Yes, you may crochet these gloves for the men as well, but I would advise to choose a different yarn. From the picture, it might not be that visible, but the yarn has a thread of metallic to give it some sparkle. That might not be desirable. Happy crocheting!
Unfortunately both the written pattern and the video fail to explain how to place the pinkie finger for right glove, and this will of course differ in the same way as the placement of the right and left thumbs. The pattern provides instructions for both left and right thumbs but that's as far as it goes. If you follow the same instructions for the pinkie finger for the left and right glove you will find when working your right glove that your pinkie finger is where the pointer finger should be. Which of course means that you don't get a full pattern for a pair of gloves. This is not explained in the video and is not made clear in the pattern either. However once you have placed the pinkie finger for right glove the instructions are the same as given for the other three fingers and this applies to either hand. In this instance when working the right glove from step 6, ignore the first 18 stitches and start with front loop sc for first 5 chain stitches and continue from there as stated in the pattern.
Ok so I need to make gloves bigger for my daughter how do I know what to do after cuff is made instead of 24 rows to 28 rows. I figure rhis changes positioning of fingers.
I'm no expert but I'd say move everything over by half the difference between the sizes. So you've gone from a cuff of 24 to 28, the difference is 4 so you should move the thumb/fingers over by 2 stchs. =) Again, im no expert but im guessing
Can someone tell me the length in inches/centimeters of the beginning 23 rows when completed because I forgot to count my rows and they are very hard to count when stitched this way. Thank you!
+Meghan Maldonado Hi Meghan Maldonado, You may count ribs - 24 row equal 12 ribs. That way you'll know when to join your very last row with the first one. Happy crochet!
Okay I just got done with wrist I'm on the part where u start picking up stitches and I'm so confused where to u start with the first one sorry this is my first time doing gloves
+Kristen Templeton Hi Kristen Templeton, Please watch the video starting from about 8:00 to see how I picked up chains on the ribbing's edge. It doesn't really matter which way you do it as long as you'll get 38 chs (interunet.com/how-to-crochet-gloves-for-a-woman) in total and the chains will have about even intervals in between. Happy crochet!
Gigiforeva Hi Gigiforeva, Yes, you may work more chains or adjust your gauge using a larger size hook, thicker yarn or combination of those. Happy crocheting!
Zoe Callow Hi Zoe, Please visit the written instruction interunet.com/how-to-crochet-gloves-for-a-woman. I picked up 38 chains on the edge of the ribbing (step 4). Happy crocheting!
Jenna Hunt Hi Jenna Hunt, Thanks for the good question. I did not give it much of a thought because I do not sell my crochet and knit items yet. I've seen others sell their crochet items for about $40 - 50 and up. So, If you want to sell it to someone, I would recommend you to search on the internet for the prices of similar items. Good luck!

Hi,I love your video that is very clear to me!I wondered how I could make this one for a kid, what do I have to measure,I am a beginner,a scarf is easy for everyone but when it comes to be the right measures it seems too hard for me:-(
Braveflowers
Hi Braveflowers,
It is up to you, but if you are a beginner, I would advise you to start with mittens first and then try gloves.

Теперь и у меня будут такие перчатки.Спасибо!
Are we allowed to sell tge finished product?
I'm very hard of hearing and was able to follow along easily. Thank for counting stitches and using flowing movements. And for not splitting your tutorial into parts.
Linda Scroggins
Hi Linda,
Thanks for the comment. Happy crochet!
What's the difference between women's and men's gloves? Can I make this for my brother?
Anastasia Ye
Hi Anastasia,
Yes, you may crochet these gloves for the men as well, but I would advise to choose a different yarn. From the picture, it might not be that visible, but the yarn has a thread of metallic to give it some sparkle. That might not be desirable. Happy crocheting!
thnkx for going slow
In the written pattern it says pick up 38 chain stitches while the video says 67or 57....sorry this is not clear. could you say which it is please.
do whichever one fits for you =)
Can someone tell me the length in inches/centimeters of the beginning 23 rows when completed because I forgot to count my rows and they are very hard to count when stitched this way. Thank you!
+Meghan Maldonado
Hi Meghan Maldonado,
You may count ribs - 24 row equal 12 ribs. That way you'll know when to join your very last row with the first one. Happy crochet!
*thanks a lot*
Podrían publicarlo en español? Please! Me encantan.
Okay I just got done with wrist I'm on the part where u start picking up stitches and I'm so confused where to u start with the first one sorry this is my first time doing gloves
+Kristen Templeton
Hi Kristen Templeton,
Please watch the video starting from about 8:00 to see how I picked up chains on the ribbing's edge. It doesn't really matter which way you do it as long as you'll get 38 chs (interunet.com/how-to-crochet-gloves-for-a-woman) in total and the chains will have about even intervals in between. Happy crochet!

Can I adjust it to make them bigger ?
Gigiforeva
Hi Gigiforeva,
Yes, you may work more chains or adjust your gauge using a larger size hook, thicker yarn or combination of those. Happy crocheting!
What yarn are you using? And what size hook?

I am finding it difficult to hear/understand if you are saying to pick up 27 or 37 stitches after the wristband?
Zoe Callow
Hi Zoe,
Please visit the written instruction interunet.com/how-to-crochet-gloves-for-a-woman. I picked up 38 chains on the edge of the ribbing (step 4). Happy crocheting!

Hi Bisi,
Thank you for the comment. Happy crochet!
ur welcome
can these gloves be made for men?
does it have to be a size f hook
what did she say when she was almost done making the chain
How much would you sell these for if you'd sell them
Jenna Hunt
Hi Jenna Hunt,
Thanks for the good question. I did not give it much of a thought because I do not sell my crochet and knit items yet. I've seen others sell their crochet items for about $40 - 50 and up. So, If you want to sell it to someone, I would recommend you to search on the internet for the prices of similar items. Good luck!
What size hook and yarn did you use?

Thank you I have to make me a pair. Very nice video
She used a "F" letter crochet hook.
F crochet hook, what in mm? Is it 3 or 4 mm? Because in my country there is no 3,75 mm...
The video shows
a 2.75mm (C-2)
but the written pattern says 3.75mm (F-5).
