Projects like this scare me because it's either I strictly follow a pattern or ditch the crochet project I'm making. But right now, I wanna be brave. Thank you for this guide! Really want to prove to myself that I can do a freehanded crochet project.
Bro so friggin cool!!! It looks like a mixture of cobwebs and bubble structure. I want to get into freehanding so I'll definitely be coming back to this video!!
I am currently thanking every God in existence I came across this video bc I've been trying to figure out a way to crochet Bang Chan's mesh top from the rock star era for like a year! Thank you so so much! (also you did a perfect job explaining every step, I'm truly so grateful)
Im glad you enjoyed it! I am actually making another tutorial for a similar jumper but more similar to the one you are on about (more like chunky and layered) so defiantly keep your eye out for that :)
HoW? This is the exact top that was in my mind! Ive bought a shimmery pink yarn to make it with and was just going to fudge the entire thing when this popped up! Its fate! Thank you! Ive not tried to freehand anything like this before, im excited to get started.💗🖤
i actually cant explain how good this video is like ive been trying to figure out how to freehand distressing/cutouts in crochet since ive started and this is the first video ive seen on what i was looking for and it makes so much senseee... your channel is godsent
This is so bloody cool!! I always wanted to try freehand crochet, but just didn't really know how to start and this is so helpful!! Cant wait to try it! 😊
OHMYGOD YOURE LITERALLY A GODSEND THANK YOU SO SOOOOO MUCH!!!!! ive been looking everywhere. ive been trying to find knitting tutorial to no avail. Tytytytyty 🤩🥰 (try my hand at crochet 🤞🏾)
Actually that could be nice idea to make it more into organised spider web instead of caffeine spider version Hmmmm I can consider making it for myself when I will finish crocheting hats and figure it out why I was making hats in such quantities.
Yes, i would say this jumper shouldn’t be the first freehand piece you try. If i were you i would become comfortable with freehand crocheting first (maybe try to freehand a normal jumper) then come back to it after you have made a few smaller projects :) hope this helps
😂😂 no need to worry, it is as secure as any other crochet jumper. Its washed fine and has handled getting snagged on my piercings (as all crochet stuff does) and ive worn it a lot :)
For sure! I think this would also be a good scrap yarn project, I’m going to trial that at some point to get rid of some of my scrap yarn because I have quite a collection 😂
I’m getting suuuuper frustrated because I am doing it and being cautious about not adding or removing stitches for the tightness… and it just always flares out in the next row! I don’t understand how to freehand and keep to the tightness for the circumference the same
If your project is flaring your rows must be increasing in size somehow. Id just use less ch stitches in between the stitches you put in your row below. This project can be tricky if you are not used free hand crocheting. I am thinking to do this distressed stitch in a tutorial as embroidery for those who find this stitch hard as it creates a similar effect, but is easier to manage :) i also have another video just on how to distress crochet that might help
@@divynecrochet update!! I tried a couple more times and decided to try a smaller circumference to practice and has worked and easier to maintain it… idk why hahaha but finally working ❤️
ok but how do you ACTUALLY keep the same size along the project? i really don't understand, i'm trying so hard, i'm counting stiches, but it doesn workkkk 😩
If you are using a bigger hook size, small differences will go away once you stretch out your material. But if your rows are very different from each other, you either need to add more chains in between your stitches if your row is too tight, or spread where you are placing the stitches out more if your row is too loose. As I said you just need to take it bit by bit till you get the hang of it, you want to look at the row you are doing and look at the rows bellow and make them stretch to the same length. Hope this helps :)

You are welcome! Freehand crochet does take some time to get used to but once you get it it is really fun!

I have lol I made a spider web
Now this is ART.
Bro so friggin cool!!! It looks like a mixture of cobwebs and bubble structure. I want to get into freehanding so I'll definitely be coming back to this video!!

Thank you 🥰 thats very sweet of u
Uau!! Amei!!
Omg I love
So cool! What yarn material did you use?
Both are cotton :)
What kind of yarn blend did you use for stretch and comfort?
Its just 100% cotton :)
you saved my halloween costume!! lyyy
hello, can I ask you how the elements of the pattern are arranged in this jumper? How do I want to? Or is there a certain sequence?
Just how you want to, this is a freehand project so use the stitches i talked about in any order you want :)
I'm totally making one of these. What size yarn did you use and how much of it (roughly) for your size?
Thank you :) the black one is 4 ply (95g) and the white jumper is dk (130g)
@@divynecrochet great! I've got some stash yarn for both quantities. I think I'll have a bit of a play around.
Actually that could be nice idea to make it more into organised spider web instead of caffeine spider version Hmmmm I can consider making it for myself when I will finish crocheting hats and figure it out why I was making hats in such quantities.
Sounds like a good idea! Like using a pattern repeat instead of distressed
Огонь!!!
Is it okay to make this in a non sleeved version? If love to make this as a gift for my cousin
Yes this would be so cool! I’ve never made one before, I imagine you might have to change some of the pattern though :)
@@divynecrochet thank you! Ill prob have to test some things first
❤
I would love to try freehand crochet so badly but this is so confusing😖😖 I’m fairly new to crochet

this looks one metal hook or splinter away from destruction, but i'd be lying if i said i don't wanna make it or wear it
😂😂 no need to worry, it is as secure as any other crochet jumper. Its washed fine and has handled getting snagged on my piercings (as all crochet stuff does) and ive worn it a lot :)
@@divynecrochet i'm glad to hear that :)
Around how many grams did you end up using for yours?
For the black jumper (4ply yarn) I used 95g and the white jumper (dk yarn) I used 130g :)
@@divynecrochet thank you so much!! This is such a perfect yarn buster project for my black yarn 💖
For sure! I think this would also be a good scrap yarn project, I’m going to trial that at some point to get rid of some of my scrap yarn because I have quite a collection 😂

Does anyone actually have a pattern made? I cant free hand😂
I might actually work on a distressed repeat stitch 👀
