Hi Clive, it was a great day out. Bobby loves these trips and all the attention he gets. They are fun to film and sunny days make it even more enjoyable All the best Rick
Hi Guys, lovely video. We visited a few weeks ago, it's a nice country railway. A few notes of interest for you. 92203 was bought straight out of service from BR , by the late artist David Shepherd and he named it Black Prince. It was based at Cranmore. The class 31 was 31207, and the class 37 was 37032. The "old" dmu is 101.692 that last worked on the Marple/Rose Hill line. I've sent it out from Marple station many times. The boiler with the chimney on is I think their B12 loco undergoing overhaul. Definitely right in sitting in a compartment, so comfy. Hope you had a great holiday, the weather looked good. Look forward to your next video. 😊
They have more model railways than 1:1! lol . 9F and Brush 2 are in my top ten favourite loco list. (I own a few myself). Not ventured that far before, so thanks for taking us.
Wow, a great video. I have been to Sherringham for work a few times and only have been to the station. Great food in the cafe. Must go on the train ride. Have to get there early to do the stops. At least you had good weather. Thanks for sharing your day out. Have fun. Paul and Iren. 🎉
Lovely little heritage railway the North Norfolk!! You get some lovely views from the train. Sherringham is a gorgeous little town and well worth a visit.
Congrats on another very cool and diverse video. Great look at the stations, close-ups of the locos and the stock inside and out, shots from your seats to the world outside- something I love. Then you find some cool layouts to look at. It reminds me of the stations in Germany, where each one had a cool little Märklin layout that you could run for a Euro. Some have been removed, but most main stations still have them. Anyhow, another fun way to start a day! Thanks!
Hi Anthony, nice to hear from you. I am glad you enjoyed our little jaunt. It's a very scenic railway isn't it and we highly recommend it. Many thanks for watching. All the best Rick
Looks like you both had a great day out on the North Norfolk ,it is a very special line with a incline from Sherringham to Holt making any loco work hard .
You don't have to go over the bridge, you can cross the line on the level near to the door of the souvenir shop. It is usually supervised. I always get off at Weybourne for tea, a Kit Kat and the railway bookshop! Lovely railway and lovely staff.
Hi Vickie, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. The tramcar looks nice and we too would love to experience it. We plan on filming some more heritage railways this year. All the best Rick
NICE looking Train Station to open up this video Rick!!!! O wow now this is so cool the Passenger Car and the great looking Locomotive too wow this is great!!!! + we all get a ride too fun!!! Off we go now, and you both look lie the clip in A Hard Day's Night lol. With the Beatles :). I know that this is common for you, but I just love it and a great looking Layout too wow. I need to come over and get that one :) LOL!!! OK not going to say anything about the N scale lol .... Ok I know I have sed this but wow this just great mate!!! Nice big Layout I do enjoy all of your videos Rick. BUT this one was just over the top. It was the best oen all the best to you and take care cheers mate!!!!
Hi Brad, glad you enjoyed it, these are actually the easiest videos to film even compared to the vlogs. To us it's like looking at old holiday videos! Hopefully we can do more in the near future but next up is a Toy Fair and I know how much you like those. I used to attend a lot of record fairs so it's nice to go along to yours with you. All the best Rick
It was great to have you come along with me mate. BUT O WOW ...!!!!! Now this will be a lot of fun to see, and I am definitely looking forward to that one wow :). Cheers mate!!!!
@@wellchuffedrailways Thanks you can drive that one to Holt and back but it's rather expensive, Ive been toying with the idea maybe a birthday presume from the missus take care.
Love the heritage lines and the way all the volunteers have passion into the smallest detail, plus a very scenic route and some model railways along, very nice. Also good try of you Rick, to get the display case in the lounge, unfortunately not tactical enough mate, you need better tactics😜 Nice video, cheers Danny
A bit of history on the Black Prince. Born in Swindon Works in 1959, she plied her trade - transporting heavy items on our railways. She was sold to a famous musician who loved steam locomotives in 1968 and was placed on the North Norfolk Railway in 1972. Just to give you her class, she’s a 9F heavy freight locomotive, used for transporting goods from the Midlands to the North on the West Coast Main Line.
Marvellous day out, thanks for sharing. I see Bobby insists on 1st Class travel. Why not. They were great model railway layouts and the real Colmans van was a stand-out. I may scratch-build a model sometime if I can find appropriate lettering decals.
Hi yes Bobby is an old hand at rail travel. He has no fear of locos steam or diesel although I think he prefers diesels! The Colman's van was great wasn't it and I hope someone models it in 00. Good luck with the scratch build. Thanks for watching Rick.
hi there. great video. the 9f is certainly a brute of a loco which replaced Big Bertha on the lickey incline when she got too old, the class 31 looks FAB in green colours,a lot were based at Stratford dept along with class 15 and 16 locos
Hi John, we also went to the railway in Sept 22 and met with the same issue. It's definitely a railway in which the weather makes a big difference thanks to the great views. All the best Rick
The British Railways totem is actually the one that was used from 1950-1965, when the totem was still the lion and the wheel, but in a rounded with what looked like a white railway line either side.
The North Norfolk is one of three heritage railways from which you actually get a view of the sea!! The others are the Ffestiniog Railway and the Folk’s Electric Railway in Brighton.
Thanks for having us join you on this journey. Bill and Janet from California, USA
Thanks for joining us, we were lucky the sun was shining. All the best Rick

Yes!! I HAVE been to the North Norfolk Railway many times in my life. It only comes third to my local heritage line, the Epping Ongar Railway.
Thanks for the info
Good video on the channel thanks lee

Another one to go on my bucket list. Really enjoyable visit with lots of interesting points. Thank you for sharing
Thanks very much Chris.

Certainly it's certainly a great railway and the two locos we ran behind were fantastic. Thanks for the tips for if we visit again. All the best Rick
The carriages are all beautifully kept and in wonderful condition for British Railways Mk 1 carriages!!
Lovely video guys, I must have another visit to North Norfolk, hoping to have a ride in the restored Wisbech tramcar when they next have it running..
Hi Vickie, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. The tramcar looks nice and we too would love to experience it. We plan on filming some more heritage railways this year. All the best Rick

Excellent the brush 2 was the first loco I got to drive as a secondman at Sheffield Midland in the late 70s hope you enjoyed your day.
Hi Tony, lucky many to drive that loco they are one of my favourites. Thanks for watching Rick
@@wellchuffedrailways Thanks you can drive that one to Holt and back but it's rather expensive, Ive been toying with the idea maybe a birthday presume from the missus take care.
The 9F is such a handsome loco, but the class 37 with split box code is superb.
Love the heritage lines and the way all the volunteers have passion into the smallest detail, plus a very scenic route and some model railways along, very nice.

Thanks Danny, it was a nice day out and exactly how you would expect an English Heritage railway to be. All the best Rick
great video

I think you'll find David Shepherd was a famous painter
So sure, yet so wrong!

Went there earlier in the year, excellent.
Great railway isn't it.

I was there about two weeks ago. Saw Black Prince and the class 14 diesel hydraulic.
The BR swishey arrows were nick named the “arrows of indecision”! Lol
Very apt lol 😅
Travelled on the line Sept 2022. Unfortunately there was a weight restriction issue and trains only went as far as Weybourne. Enjoyable all the same

The North Norfolk is one of three heritage railways from which you actually get a view of the sea!! The others are the Ffestiniog Railway and the Folk’s Electric Railway in Brighton.
You mean "Volks Electric Railway"
What about the Dartmouth Steam Railway, and also a distant view from the Talyllyn Railway?
There is a well preserved Birdseye' AF container wagon at the NNR. Certainly worth a look.
Ah - ha!
abso-bloody-lutely!
The monster of a locomotive is Black Prince. She’s one of a certain musician’s locomotives.
Very nice was this last years holiday or you slipped by again this year
Hi, this was filmed two weeks ago, hard to believe looking at the weather. 😂😂😂😂😂
JUst got a glimpse of it at 24:01 😀
