I feel like a lot of people are very harsh to this adaptation. Perhaps unfairly. It looks really good. And it stays very true to the manga. Nothing about it is really unacceptable. It's just not as good as the old 90s classic, but that doesn't make it bad by any stretch. There has to be some middle ground between Actual Masterpiece of 90s Anime and This Show is A Dumpster Fire and A Betrayal Of The Fans. I give the remake a solid B-, worth watching if you hadn't seen it before but by no means a must-watch. And who knows? It might get some people into a good series who never grew up with the original. That alone makes it okay by me.
After watching the animes that are airing these days i was feeling so hyped for this remake, but this feels souless. the life action is the real remake after wrecking berserk... i dont know why i expected more
Definitely great action although the appearance seems less gritty for the moment and the atmosphere seems too bright to match the edge each one has out against each other. Awesome scene and Kenshin showing his skills to grow even greater in his sword mastery
i think the old one is much better, there is more than artstyle, i just compared the videos, although the old art style was way exaggerated but the mood, the tension was there but this battle feels empty. just watching some technical work. thats all...
The original anime is by far superior to this remake. The art style is much better, the ost from the original anime is perfection. The remake combat is more fluid but it doesn't make it better. The 90s animes are simply unmatched.
I dislike the voice actor for Kenshin in this one his voice sounds funny. Missed the old voice actor of Kenshin who I think suits Himura Kenshin better.
The fighting scenes artwork is more colorful and HD but lacks the dramatic timing and grittiness of the originals. And the music has no substance. The original anime fights and music were like synced. Climax of the song when it was the climax of the fight, etc
*sigh* Sadly, the updated art style does not make up for all the other deficiencies. The tension, the unpredictability, the anticipation, all of it is gone. Now it feels like it wants to get through the events as soon as possible, instead of feeling like it cares how it presents itself.
The remake has an epic musical theme, but it is literally ONE for all the fight scenes. And when it is repeated over and over again, it becomes sickening. Old anime had a huge variety of awesome theme songs.
Same here. He already knows the Double Kodachi style at this point because he was taught by the previous Okashira. So him using one Kodachi seems to be a handicap. In universe, its explained that he switches to the style later after re training himself for six months. How he acquired the longer sheath and the concealed second (and slightly shorter) blade is never really touched upon. But based on Okina's reaction during their fight, he does know that Aoshi is an expert at both the one and two handed Kodachi styles plus kempo.
@@ASteelWheel -- Thanks. I remembers in the original anime, and manga, Aoshi knew a Double Kodachi style, but couldn't remember if there was a gap for him to switch styles.
@@2005zhane the gap was just 6 months I think? I mean he kind of comes down of the mountain he was hiding in just as the government has Saito track and test Kenshin. In-universe, its explained that this took place about half a year after Kenshin and his friends stormed Kanryu's mansion. Saito gives him the details and it takes them half a day to finish talking and he unsuccessfully convinces Aoshi to go to Kyoto. Sojiro was listening in and uses what he learns to bait Aoshi by having the 4 giant goons of Shishio attack Aoshi and he somewhat successfully gets Aoshi to go to Kyoto.
It seems I'm not alone, the animation is better, but the sound design is lacking. Hot take but anime osts should stop focusing on making long extensive suits for characters, and instead make short bite sized music loops that can be listened to within a minute, 2 minutes at most. However I do understand why some anime can't do that, because anime makes most of its money via merchandise, DVD/Blu Ray sales second.

i hope the anime remake will give Kenshin's master Sejiro Hiko more exposure and fighting time because im a big fan of his Master
This remake will never be as good or as iconic as the original.
without the award winning soundtrack... the fight is kinda ... hmm.. missing the feeling

@Ofek. nah live action did it justice
This fight looks really good. I'm curious about how the Kyoto arc fights are gonna be.

After seeing a couple clips of this series now, I will say it: Give me the original series, with these animators. That is all.

Better animation thats all.... I prefer old one
Aoshi Shinomori. My favourite character.

Truer words have never been spoken, I have the dvd collection sitting in my cupboard.
What? The art style and music (for this scene) is way more entertaining than the original

I want to see how the can top battle animations between kenshi vs shihio.
Ohh boy… to be able to beat 90 animation in that battle will be Glorious.

I agree
Much worse than the original one.
It’s more manga accurate Wowzers….
@clearknight316 no it's not 🤣🤣🤣
@@barrysaxton31 yes it dumbass. The manga during those arcs was way more fast paced then the 90s version
Yo the sound design is quite fire!
👍🏼
I can't wait to see the look on Aoshi's face when Kenshin kicks his but for real in the Kyoto Arc.
The animation and fight scenes are amazing on this version.
But i hope they won't ruin Sojiro's scenes
The blade clash sfx sounds off.

Can you give me the link or the name of the theme? I haven't watched the new anime yet.
I hope they make new various themes for s2
@@naveengta Sorry, I tried to find it myself, but I couldn’t find the name of this theme song.
Who did this? Is amazing! 😍
This looks fun
Sokisoki uahhh
It's look like he fighting some Isekai Protag. Old Vs New.
i prefer the live action but still this is good fight scene in anime
The only way this dude lasted that long is because kenshin is always holding back.
This fight remastered. Im down!
orignal anime had more heart i was just watching the remake for better animation. Ill always love the manga though
I'm curious on why Aoshi didn't have his second blade.

It's a soulless slap-dash remake... like everything is anymore.
something is off with this remake
I think it's better. Original author had added many new sceanes in this remake, and those were really great.
It’s the music
And the emotion
Lo nerfiaron a shenchi es más devil
euh... Is It really a remake? It's not the manga style at all!
Kenshin ultra nerfed.
Aoshi es mejor

Kenshin > demon slayer
always has been
Fax
Maybe the 90's Kenshin...
All day
They're both good in their own ways.
Demon slayer way better
Original series trashes boruto and mha
Japonese verson is horrible, Kenshin is always saying "gozaru". I hate when this is said in One Piece too.
Wow imagine hating another country's humble form of speech for no reason and not think that that doesn't qualify as somewhat racist
