    The problem with medic is that the crusaders and the ubersaw provide so much more utility than any of his other picks.
    If there were more severe downsides for the ubersaw (such as less max health or damage vulnerability when active) then it would make the other picks more viable, especially if they received some buffs/changes. Same goes for the crusaders in making his other primaries more viable.

      100%, but tf2 at this point is just about messing around instead of trying to win

      What if the vitasaw's downside was given to the übersaw instead?

    i hold the belief that the amputator is a more viable pick than the ubersaw. the amputator allows you to basically turn yourself into a mobile dispenser when the need arises, while (somewhat) discouraging melee combat, something you shouldnt be doing much as a medic. the way the ubersaw functions encourages you to get into melee combat, which can more often than not lead to your death. i can understand why most people choose to use the ubersaw, but i believe the utility the amputator can bring to your medic gameplay outclasses it.

      Also the increased health regen is extremely good, and makes medic's survivability better. In casual I mostly use the Amputator.
      In mvm there's basically no need in any of the Amputator's benefits, and getting free 25% from sentry busters is too good, so I use ubersaw in mvm

      Amp taunt is good but it’s honestly more efficient to just heal everyone with the medigun. But I see your point

    • @piclebob
      @piclebob Месяц назад

      @@plumify100 the taunt healing is the same as the medigun, so it's very efficient if you're healing more than one person. the real problem is that the amputator builds uber very slowly

      I find the Amputator is the best partner to the Quick-Fix, and I'm _totally_ not biased because that's precisely what I use [okay, maybe a little biased]
      Quick-Fix's job is to better deal with spreading heals around for the whole team instead of just gluing yourself to one guy and making him a tank, and while the Amputator's taunt is tricky to use most of the time because it requires the same kind of situational awareness as taking a Sandvich break with Heavy, if you have the moment to use it, it can be good for giving a pick-me-up to several nearby teammates at once
      Plus the boosted regen is nice if you manage to barely slip out of a bad spot. Faster y'get patched up, faster y'can get back out there to heal your team
      And I guess it also helps that the other saws just don't matter that much for the Quick-Fix specifically
      The Ubersaw and Vitasaw's features barely do much for the Quick-Fix when it inherently builds up Uber so quickly as it is

    Flawless design of EVERY melee weapon, proceeds to agree how bad the vitasaw is, along how multipe of them are practically direct upgrades from stock

    Truly flawless design, so flawless 80% of medic players use the uber saw and thats it

    You used the old stats of the vita-saw it was changed, so when you hit someone, you get an organ. This organ is worth 15% über when you die. This can potentially scale to 60% with 4 hits. Although if you die with 40% and got 4 hits, you will respawn with only 40% instead of 60%. The downside stayed the same.

    • @plumify100
      @plumify100  Месяц назад

      That’s true, I forgot they buffed it lol. I mean, at that point if you’re relying on hits, it’s literally just an ubersaw downgrade

    I just hate when it's obvious a dev team got lazy with certain aspects of a game. The ubersaw has one of the best upsides in the game, just slap a meaningless 20% swing speed penalty so it's not a straight upgrade. The same with the solemn vowel which from what I remember literally had no downsides at one point until they gave it a 10% penalty. The vita saw is badly deigned because it gives you a mid benefit when you die, so they remove 10 of your health so you die more often, especially when you get close to someone to try to hit them with the weapon. You need to get 4 melee hits to get 60% of your uber after you die, while the ubersaw with 4 hits can get you an entire uber while you're alive. You shouldn't encourage dying as medic in any way and this weapon really fails. The only well designed/balanced medic melee is the amputator.

      Ubersaw has 20% slower swing speed, it the solomon vow that has a 10% slower swing speed (it didnt have that negative effect before when they add it , it was a direct upgrade from the stock)

    When i play medic i often manage to get ALOT of melee hits, however, i don't know if i get them because i get aggressive because i can see the enemy health (in melee i default to the solemn vow) or just because i'd get those hits either way.
    I dont really like using the ubersaw, it feels cheap to play with (for me) and i often find it annoying when enemy medics are using it. Yes, it somehow rewards you for getting out alive of melee combat, but i think not dying and saving your uber is already a good reward, and getting 25%~50% uber from it is way too much. Of course, you're the medic and you suck at fighting, but this is tf2, you can easily find someone not good and just get 50% uber out of them for free.
    And as for "you can get the 25% uber you needed and get out of there alive" feels like not being true to the medic gameplay, at least, for me, it feels weird that you can escape alive from alot of people because you managed to melee one. You can suck really bad and get yourself in an awful position, but bcus some overcofident scout tried to melee you, you can now escape all of their team.
    I don't judge people who use it, it's really powerful, kinda like the crossbow, people will (mostly) only use it, because its so good it overshadows the other weapons in slot.

    • @plumify100
      @plumify100  Месяц назад

      Well yeah, that’s why it’s so commonly used. It’s also the reason why I almost always use the solemn vow lmao
