A few corrections and things I missed: .Water droplets when coming out of water are visible on your for a brief moment while cloaked. .You can hear the spy's footsteps while cloaked .The loose cannon and force of nature also cause knockback while disguised
A few notes I have not seen in the comments. • Running out of cloak is louder than a voluntary decloak. • Jumping with the C&D wastes cloak as your up and down movement is also counted. • Spend some time on your favorite maps attempting jumps that slower classes would not be able to pull off, and observer what props are rarely checked. (Map knowledge) • If a prop is rarely checked and you are able to get on top of it, juke away from it while cloaking. Once cloaked jump onto it or slide behind it. On another note, I like to dmg surf as medic as well as spy. It is amazing how quickly Soldier mains get tilted that you are using their rockets to escape them.
Another thing with the Cloak and Dagger, if you want to travel further without needing to stop or if it is an emergency to move, but you don't have enough cloak to run away; just crouch. Crouching allows you to travel a lot further than if you simply just walked somewhere cloaked.
Another tip regarding the Cloak and Dagger is that increases to your walking speed of _any kind_ do not increase cloak drain. This means that, if you decide to use the Big Earner, you can use the watch a little more actively, as cloaking might take a little longer, but your movement speed after a stab will often be enough to help you get away.
One thing about the dead ringer is that people tend to chase you more if they see you have it out, you can use this to help out your local demoman and lure them into sticky traps, as the rush of chasing a spy down tends to distract enough for them not to notice
More huge tips. People do not look up, hiding on top of anything at all decreases your chances of being caught drastically. Crouching beside small elevations is also a good way to hide as people don't often see if coming. Finally, sometimes it can be a good idea to simply hide in the last spot your opponents expect. Sometimes I find success hiding in the middle of a room/area as people tend to check walls and corners (though this is heavily dependent on the situation). Also be sure to always look behind you before you cloak to ensure it is safe to do so and do your best to conceal your decloak in case you get unlucky and someone walks by. One of my most common spy deaths is someone just materializing behind me when I decloak

If you fake the death of an ally at the start of a team fight, you can decloak behind the front line and half the enemy team will turn around to shoot at you (you should be behind cover) and your team will have free reign to shoot them in the backside because they were distracted by the spy that isn't even going to bother engaging with them right now.

You can hear spies walk sounds even when they are cloaked so its best to crouch walk in quiet areas especially if you are being hunted. I've found countless spies by listening to their footsteps. Other than finding a safe path, do note that no teammates are directly behind you or make sure you don't end up in areas where enemies use to peek. To really play without chances of collision, hopping on rock props are still the best method to not getting spotted.
both positioning and timing are gained through experience and time spent playing the game, the best he could explain it as is "stay behind the enemy and hide either in plain sight or somewhere no one expects"
One thing to note is that you cannot cloak for the entire attack interval of your knife (which is 800 miliseconds), unlike your gun and your sapper, which you can cloak immediately after using. In certain situations, it might be more worth it to pop a cap into your target and cloak away, especially if they're at low enough health. The ambassador is perfect for picking off injured targets since it does the highest potential damage out of all the revolvers, without prior setup like sapping a building.

2:23 Did something like this when using the Cloak & Dagger... but it wasn't with an Engineer. It was a Sniper who, after a short bit, had a Medic joining him in the search. This was a 2fort server and, as a result, didn't amount to much of anything but it was endless fun seeing that Sniper try to pull every trick in the book, aside from switching to Jarate, to find me. Sweeping his laser dot to see if it got any bigger? Yep. Standing still and listening for footsteps? Yep. Because of these, I didn't need to spam voicelines anymore because this guy was in a constant state of searching. Eventually, I just hid out elsewhere and carried out other shenanigans, like chilling out on the central battlement room with the Boxtrot taunt. XD All that because I was previously screwing around with the Engineers by shooting their buildings and cloaking out of sight. Sadly for that server, I know of a sneaky spot to situate myself when a player comes around to attempt a chase.

A few things i get up to as the dead ringer is i dosguise as a friendly medic to make the enemy think they got a crucial med pick, and they're less likely to push us when they already got med down, meaning our medic can build up uber easier wothout fear of getting their shit rocked. Other spies can be hard to manage this wity if they're also going for the medic, but i mean, it protects medic from the other 7 classes that want him dead.
Merci for those absolutely magnificent videos amigo! It's sad that u don't have 10k yet, heck, even 100k! Your content is amazing and very entertaining, you are very cool!
Jon, I know you’re a passive spy(passive?) but can you please make tutorials about playing spy with an aggressive play style? Btw dead ringer is so bad for playing the normal passive play style so the dr really depends on how aggressive and how good you are at being aggressive. Also love the new vid
Since being an aggressive spy will make you get caught out a lot, you should just get better at trickstabbing or using your revolver. The dr is good for this playstyle because it makes it a lot easier to escape. The dr also has a loud decloak sound and therefore you should be cautious once you decide to decloak. Being an aggressive spy is stressful sometimes but just remember you are a spy, the weakest class in the game. Be aggressive, but remember to try and trick the opponent into getting into backstab range, via disguises/trickstabs.
And this is why I freaking love to play Spy. It is like playing your own game inside the game. While other classes have their own approach (scout multi jumping across the map, soldier/demo explosive jumping, literally walking in the open), Spy instead offers to play the small "infiltration" game each time you cloak. And such small intricate moments, when you are inches away from being discovered, threading the needle - what a rush! And when you are rewarded with exposed back of the enemy. And when you make a stylish getaway either by smart movement or by explosive surfing - this feels amazing! Truly, Spy gameplay is one of the most unique ones in a entire FPS genre. And that's coming not even from Spy main. I just appreciate the gameplay.

XD
All that because I was previously screwing around with the Engineers by shooting their buildings and cloaking out of sight. Sadly for that server, I know of a sneaky spot to situate myself when a player comes around to attempt a chase.
Love the video mate! High quality, entertaining, and well paced as always. Only thing I gotta say is, posture, man!! Get that slouch outta your back!!
HOW do you have only 10K subs??! This video is absolutely nuts, you must have put soooo much effort into this! Continue and you'll become a very big youtuber soon :)
Great ad part in the middle of the vid. Very convincing. Keep it up!
Terraria music... WTH???

8:18 I had PTSD from this BGM
This is such a genuinely amazing video. Informative and crazily well edited with great visuals for information, storytelling, and jokes.
The L'Etranger ad genuinely caught me off guard, well done.
Я даже не знаю, как это корректно перевести на английский, но друг, у тебя просто невероятный контент, я действительно удивлён видеть настолько мало людей подписаных на тебя. Продолжай в том же духе, у тебя явно талант :)

@@IJN_Kaga_CV-3 uh yea, completely forgot 'bout it :)
Don't worry, I learned an entirely new language in five minutes solely so I could read this comment.
I now have more work opportunities as an interpreter, thanks for that.

1:02 Holy shit is that a Ben 10 reference?
Yep, and it’s the perfect time for one.
The L'etranger ad actually caught me off guard and I was so ready to skip it before noticing the TF2 footage in the background and slowly realized it was an edit. Lazy hasn't been uploading as much, so you're the best we've got at the moment and so far, it's great. I've now subscribed and anticipating your next spy tips video. Keep up the good work.
I actually never knew you lose speed while backpedalling. That's an interesting thing to note.
Great video!
BTW the Ben 10 reference had me super hooked. That’s such a perfect parallel I never considered. Props to you m8 🙏

Cool video, really helpful! Thank you for this!
6:50 Your Ethernal Reward my beloved < 3
ethernal?
A few things i get up to as the dead ringer is i dosguise as a friendly medic to make the enemy think they got a crucial med pick, and they're less likely to push us when they already got med down, meaning our medic can build up uber easier wothout fear of getting their shit rocked. Other spies can be hard to manage this wity if they're also going for the medic, but i mean, it protects medic from the other 7 classes that want him dead.
0:45 I swear the demo’s walk cycle must be the outlast variant walk cycle.
Merci for those absolutely magnificent videos amigo! It's sad that u don't have 10k yet, heck, even 100k! Your content is amazing and very entertaining, you are very cool!
14:53 "Dropped the med"
Man, the animation just keeps on getting better
15:02 when the enemy demoman decloak
Be aggressive, but remember to try and trick the opponent into getting into backstab range, via disguises/trickstabs.
man the quality of these videos is absolutely unbelievable, amazing video man
10:12 in short... play chess with the enemy
And i still hear "Don't play TF2 like Chess"
5:20 Did... did that engie just phase shift?
Which engie
Little precision on detecting a faked dead ringer death : the ammo box looted will be empty, which is especially noticeable as engi looking for metal
3:20 TERRARIA SOUNDTRACK WOWZARS!
Entertaining, useful, and high quality
As an engineer and especially pyro main, this is very useful
As an I don't really know who I main I just play man, this is very *useful*
screw engie mains all they do is building their things and then make a ton of kills lmao
