    for stuck lens filters i use a small somewhat thin mousepad i have laying around. It has this rubberized texture on the back that is perfect for that sort of stuff.

      Genius! Definitely going to try that next time. Way safer. Thanks for sharing!!

    I saw quite a good street light shot taken with this lens. The star bursts from the lights were very sharp which is not possible with all similar lenses.

      Thanks! Would love to get my hands on that lens eventually and do a comparison of the EF 135!

    I love it for walking around even though I have the zooms in that range. But this is small enough to carry in a light messenger bag and shoot any interesting scene you come across.

    Thanks for this review it was very helpful, I think it's still pretty good sharpness for a non-L lens, it's going to be my light landscape lens for when I already carry an big and heavy zoom like my 150-600mm, I already have a 16-35mm for serious landscape needs, but I wanted something very light to throw in the backpack and it seems perfect for that!

    Thanks for the review! How do you like it compared to the Sigma 28mm f/1.4 that you reviewed a few months ago?

    • @ShaneLongPhotography
      @ShaneLongPhotography  Год назад +5

      Thanks for asking! I like this one better for size. Its lighter and is easier on my shoulders after shooting weddings all day. I do think I liked 28mm better than 24 for context portraits. And I liked the 1.4 better than the 1.8 of this lens. But I ended up returning the Sigma 28 and going with the Canon 24 1.8 partly because I didn't have to adapt it and it was so much lighter. Does that help?

    For wedding photography, between the 24f1.8 and the 35f1.8, which lens would you use more often?

    • @ShaneLongPhotography
      @ShaneLongPhotography  Месяц назад +2

      I use the 35 more! You could add the 16mm and that would help with the wide shots!

    If you ever need to use vice grips or any other wrench to your lens ALWAYS use tissue.

    Some of these shots I would consider the 50mm being a better option

    Dope vid. What’s the difference between the 24 and 35? I have both.

    • @ShaneLongPhotography
      @ShaneLongPhotography  Год назад

      Thanks! Not a lot different other than one is has a wider field of view than the other and less background blur as a result.

    The sky is blue in 4:20 but white in the shots. Is it intentional for the wedding theme?

    • @ShaneLongPhotography
      @ShaneLongPhotography  Месяц назад +1

      Yeah that was intentional to put more focus on the couple than the sky. All just personal editing choices!

    • @GonzalezMethodistChurch
      @GonzalezMethodistChurch 12 дней назад

      @@ShaneLongPhotography I could see your R5s exposure indicator and you often overexposed by about a half stop which I'm sure was intentional as well. The photos speak for themselves and look great regardless. Do you just prefer a brighter photo? Just honestly trying to understand.

      All depends on what you are shooting! I personally use 35 a little more.

    Thanks for the review, I was wondering what happened to you 😂. I even check your IG😅. Would you recommend this lens for wedding photography if you're on a budget or maybe as a supplement to the 28-70?

    • @ShaneLongPhotography
      @ShaneLongPhotography  Год назад +1

      Haha! Yes, I am still alive. Just haven't added any new lenses to my kit for a long time so I haven't had anything to make a videos of! I am now using this lens all the time at weddings. It is good for getting ready rooms, large groom portraits, context photos, and for receptions! Here is a wedding I used it on recently. The cover photo was taken with the RF 24mm 1.8

    I picked up this lens and as much as I love the size and centre sharpness the huge barrel distortion restricts me in some scenarios. With the profile corrections on people on the outer thirds of the frame are well stretched.
    Have you ever tried adapting ef 24 1.4 L ?
    Thanks mate
