My doubts about Dragon Balls ability to evolve the Ki 'magic system' with more depth is that they already tried and did absolutely nothing with it, specifically the "God Ki". The most intersting thing they did with god ki is Ssj Blue and ... thats it. Beyond that God ki is only mentioned as a bragging right " OH MY GOD. THIS MORTAL HAS GOD KI ?!?! AAAHHHHHH ?!?!?!"
Omg you said what I been thinking for the longest. Ki (especially God Ki) should be able to do far more than just hit people 'really hard'. Frieza when we first saw him on Namek used Ki similar to how the Force from Star Wars was used. He could create large whirlpools in water with it, he could lift mountains. I know that doesn't sound like much, but it least we saw a character do something *(Anything)* with their ki beyond just standard punches and energy blasts. And don't get me started on God Ki. That wasted concept is why we can't have nice things. *Because the writers are NEVER going to fully expand upon it's full capabilities and potential* I always liked Dragon Ball for how creative it was, but nowadays, the writing and fight scenes aren't so creative anymore.
I heard there currently weren't any plans to continue super's anime. not concrete plans at least, apparently toei doesn't wanna have to make a bunch of filler so they want the manga to get WAY far ahead before they continue. which rlly confuses me bc I thought the manga was meant to promote the anime, they never had a problem w/ the anime being ahead before
On the magic system part, I actually don't think they should change Ki or expand it necessarily because at least with Z, due power scaling being linear, whenever they try to do that it ends up just confusing people on how strong or how effective something is, because the writers tend to keep it consistent with how the transformations work (even if it shouldn't be, like Ultra Instinct). Where as in Naruto, scaling isnt linear and objective. Scaling is more about who can do the most with their chakra in the moment of an attack or defense, like a giant buff but the characters themselves aren't by default stronger than each other in the same way Dragonball characters are. With Dragonball, power is just based on stacking. Its why the scaling of Super Saiyan God and SSB were so all over the place, because the audience and writers are just used to the linear measurement. We assume every character should be as strong as or stronger than Goku, but when a character who isnt implied to be, shows up and beats him up in that form, it just stops suspension of disbelief. Like the TOP. What they should do instead was just keep Ki the same but, use other energies outside of it to add onto what characters can do in addition to their base ki scaling. The problem with God ki, is that its not treated as a buff to their own ki, its just a recolor of the same thing. This is why Majin Buu, and Janemba were refreshing. Because they are also part magic and magic is its own set of energy outside of Ki for that to work, while their own ki scales them against the characters who just use Ki.
Blue and God were all over the place because the writers are morons and suits don't know what they are doing but want to push their own ideas and the VA have way more power then they should have. They already have something in place and could have worked from there. Right now GOku and Vegeta are weaker then everyone else because they NEED god ki to keep up. So anyone who gets god ki will get a total booost that puts them beyond them. Blue has been completely downgraded to junk form, UI will NEVER make any sense because the creators don't know a damned thing about dragon ball or basic martial arts, and ultra ego makes even less sense. And tying power to changes in forms was stupid. They could have had every race have different ways of dealing with ki. Saiyajins have large ki pools and get stronger from fighting or pushing themselves. They have relatively small spiritual ki pools and can use it to stack on top of their considerable ki pools. Namekians have huge spiritual ki pools and few namekians have the ability to transform their spiritual ki pools into normal ki. Training for them has more to do with harnessing spiritual ki and transfomring it into normal ki as evidenced by meditation. Piccolo not INSTANTLY sensing god ki and being shown to dwarf both goku and vegeta in terms of god ki amount was a misstep. As a matter of fact, it should have been shown that shin vastly out pulls goku and vegeta in terms of spiritual ki. Humans are highly talented and adapted at efficient ki use but are ultimately hampered by their smaller ki pools and no connection to spiritual ki. They are the most talented normal ki users in the universe and create unbelievably complex and powerful abilities with ease and can efficiently handle their tiny amount of spiritual ki.. For a human to stand next to the saiyajins they would have to use their natual ability to use ki and the multiplicative affect any ki abgility they use has. Master roshi's idiotic power up in the ToP while the other humans were trash unless enhanced or liked by the writers/suits was terrible. Master Roshi learning the basics of godki/spiritual ki and it having a massive boost for normal humans in terms of fighting ability and power boost for humans who have masterd ki control would make sense. God Ki/spiritual ki be a form of ki that everyone has in various amounts and is more powerful then...normal ki. Like nitro versus gasoline. There is also the possibility to add in time it would take to store god/spiritual ki.
The reason why DBZ was so successful was because they were able to focus the series a lot on Gohan's growing while keeping Goku the main character, I think they should've done that with Goten and Trunks, It would made the series more interesting and the story could keep the important story bits as it was but by focusing more on Goten and Trunks things would be so much more interesting.
Saying Goten should be Goku's succesor, when Uub was LITERALLY written as Goku's succesor year's ago is crazy, also the complex magic system thing FUNDAMENTALY doesn't work with Dragon Ball since Db is a story that has been presented with a SIMPLE P.S and it's pretty weird how you don't mention Magic (like the one Uub HAS), God Ki (even if they did nothing with it) or a lot of characters that have weird abilities that are never explored. (Hit and guldo time abilities, Hearts and U2 gravity powers or just tech and how it's used in the story) That being said I do agree with the fact that Dragon Ball as a franchise NEED'S to let Goku go as a protagonist, and some other thing you talked about.
The main reason I would pick Goten over Uub is because of his similarities to Goku. The series is holding on to Goku as much as it can right now, so if we can start small changing protagonists, Goten would feel like much less radical a departure than Uub. I am also biased, I like Goten a lot more than I like Uub.
I would like to say, I thought the ideas of spirit fission and the new magic morrow brought to the table were really good steps in the right direction. They were basically introducing us to new systems that were essentially anti ki.
They are repeating the problems of not only GT, but Super as well. This is my problem with Dragon Ball after Z ended. We are not allowed to grow beyond Goku and Vegeta. All they had to do was make a show around the next generation. Trunks, Goten, Pan, Uub, Bra and Marron aka the next generation of Z-Fighters while, Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, and Vegeta are mentor figures. But no, we can't move on. We aren't allowed to let go of Goku and Vegeta.
I think the problem is that Dragonball has already written itself into a corner. The characters have been written so that they just don't match the title of protagonist for the show the only proper character I can think of is Future Trunks, but that line has already been crossed and burned, along with his entire interesting timeline. We have become so used to Goku as our protagonist that more than half of the DB fanbase would probably just hate whatever new protagonist Toryiama may try to give because none of the characters enjoy fighting and seeking greater strength like Goku does. Unfortunately that is what Dragonball has already become about now, becoming stronger to beat the next bad guy, repeat. Strike one. Secondly, they have already lost nearly all chance to expand on ki as well, God Ki for example is just normal ki but stronger, not detectable by beings without it, and USED TO have to be contained carefully by its user to use its full power, which has not been explored further either, it's nothing else but a bragging right. That's strike two.
They should end the series probably after 28th Tenkaichi Budokai or after Black Freeza since the series has been around for almost 40 years and they should end it by then. If they don't then they can use Uub as a protag, Toriyama didn't want Gohan as protag since he didn't fit the character of a MC, however we don't really know much about Uub's character ever since EoZ
The "writers" and suieduits in shuiesha destroyed any chance of any other character having any ability to go forth. They RUINED trunks with the terrible future trunks timeline. Hell "Black" was supposed to be Future Goten. But they pushed it to be future goku and the story is so idiotic convoluted and destroyed DB time travel and multiversal concepts that Trunks is permanently shelved. Goten and Kid Trunks were tossed to the side for more wakka wakka goku and muh pride vegeta bull when they could have had a natural way for the boys to have their own adventures and gain their own cast of characters. Even have a spin off. Gohan was ruined by two things. The terrible Editorial decicisions behind the great saiyaman debacle. And the constant attempts to make him goku 2 an actual hero edition. When he worked better as adult Gohan. The child who saw some shit and grew up to be someone who hates fighting but hates people who disturb the hard won peace more.

I find it odd that certain characters are described as having energies tied to their morality/conduct Evil ki and Good ki. What if good ki is textured like water, diffuse and hard see or weild but saturates material substances quickly While Evil ki is hard brittle and sharp but quick to train with but lacks many defensive options

As a Goten fan i couldn't agree more when it comes to who should replace Goku, with Goten we would maintain a sense of familiarity since hes still share some traits with his father, but he still has much to explore, like how his path as a warrior differs from the other Z fighters, or how he feel about being in Goku and Gohan's shadows. In regards to Overhaul the ki system, even if only slightly i think it might be too jarring, and i would personally much rather see them expand on what we already know, like what more precise ki control could look like, like further elaboration on ki weapons like, Goku Black's ki scythe, or maybe we could learn more about how mortal ki and god ki interact, we could see how combining the two energies would affect attacks, or maybe they will explain why SSB and Rosèe aren't the same thing.
Goku Black's ki scythe is actually what gave me the idea to pull from nen. I'm not too far into HunterXHunter personally yet, but the ideas of using ki as a "conjurer" type was essentially what gave me the idea.
From all options for a new protagonist, you forgot the best one: Uub The original manga ended with Goku passing the torch to Uub, even giving him his Flying Nimbus in the Kazenban version of the last chapter, he is *the chosen successor of Goku* . The fact that he is not a saiyan, but a being reincarnated from a magic demon with godly potential inside, by itself would make him take a different road than his master and with that, it would be possible to expand the power system of the verse if needed. Gohan, Trunks, Goten, Pan, none of them could go to such a different road like Uub can, while still being similar to Goku in a few ways.

When dragonball multiverse AF (both versions), deliverance and dragonball kakumei do such a great job at telling amazing stories within the universe of dragonball then we know that there is a ton more than can be done and it just needs proper writing.
I remember hearing from a RUclipsr that Boruto should have been Naruto’s grandson, after Naruto is long gone. So they can have news stories but not ruin old characters. Maybe do that with Dragon Ball have a new series with almost everyone dead from the original show but the new characters, get to live in the amazing world of Dragon. So this can make it to where the new characters can have there stories without ruining old Dragon Ball stories or Characters. But, idk I ain’t a good writer
Boruto is an interesting case, I don't think it handles its legacy characters as poorly as some of the other series I've seen, but I can agree it would probably be better to give the series' a bit more distance. Giving it a good timeskip probably would keep them focusing on the new case, I just hope a theoretical show like this wouldn't make me feel about Dragon Ball how my friends feel about Korra as Avatar fans lmao
I've said for YEARS that Goten is the perfect character to take over as the new protagonist of the DB series. He is a literal prodigy that accidentally achieved legendary ssj status at the age of 7 before he even learned to fly. Just like gohan he has unbelievable untapped potential that can make him the strongest character. But unlike Gohan, Goten would willingly try to achieve his ultimate potential. And the biggest difference from Goten and Gohan, and the best difference is how polar Goten is to his brother character wise. Gohan has spent his whole life being pushed into battle while never really wanting to, as for Goten he has spent his whole life being held back from fighting. Just like his father Goten naturally loves squaring up and matching his skill set and power against all comers, he loves the smoke. Gotens development is easily an awesome 250 episode series at the least, fighting side by side w Trunks and the crew. Akira has been sitting on this gold mind for decades and has never even given Goten a 2nd look. So frustrating!!!
I agree, another thing I'd agreed and expand on is that Dragon Ball as a series feels like this untapped goldmine of ideas. I love what it's had, but I feel like they've introduced characters, abilities, concepts and designs that could have been weaved much deeper into the story or incorporated in the ongoing story in a better way and they just go for something much less interesting from hindsight.
Dragon Ball has done the successor idea, but only really stuck with it in the video games. Beat from Dragon Ball Heroes, Tekka from Fusions, the Warriors from Dragon Ball Online, and arguably the TimePatrollers in Xenoverse and Shallot in Legends, though calling the latter 2 successors isn't exactly accurate.
The Time Patrollers are interesting, my knowledge really only comes from playing XV2, but from that they feel a bit too far removed from the main continuity to be the continuation of it. As for the others I guess I'm not too terribly familiar with them.

I agree with Goten getting some spotlight and possibly developing into a new protagonist but i really disagree with them messing with Ki. Magic already exists in the dragonball universe and Ki isn't even considered Magic, Ki is just simply energy. So relating ki to magic is just fundamentally wrong to do. If you had to do something with Ki to spice it up then introduce a new Ki system like what Dragonball Super did with God Ki, which was just the same as normal Ki except way more focused and powerful and unable to be sensed by people who don't have it which was highly unique. Not to mention the new moves it brought along with it such as Hakai
I dont think toriyama knew in the 80s that dragon Ball would become a world phenomenon. As for continuing the story with a new protagonist i dont think it will happen because goku is dragon ball especially when you look at toriyama being influenced by journey to the west and Goku being a son wukong stand in. I just like to see daima go back to its roots with being a adventure world building story that has fighting in it like og dragon Ball. I know fighting and power scaling became a big part of people discussing dragon Ball z and people primarily liking dragon ball for that fact. I guess what im trying to say is dragon ball is more than just power scaling and transformations, those were just a kind of a means to an end for what story toriyama was imagining to put on paper to advance and evolve a story.
You have a character in dragon ball that filled out what you looking for that character is Uub. Since he is a reincarnation of Buu he can add more depth into Ki by adding magic into the mix and also expanding combat for future fights and generations of character. It's like you don't even know who Uub is when making this video.
Pan would make a great protagonist due to the connection to goku, gohan, and piccolo. As well has her potential and age (remember Goten is now 16ish and pan is 5ish meaning more time/phases of development.) One way to expand Ki is to use Ki blades. I can only think of 3 characters you use them in the whole series and that is the way to few.
the only thing I can think is maybe bc pan's a girl they wouldn't want her as the protag of a shonen series...but if they paired her w/ goten or somebody it could be fine
You make great point. In Most Shonen manga series the main leads are mostly young or teenage boys due to that being the demographics of the readers. Though there are some female shonen protagonist. I also believe Pan being the lead would be more profitable then goten or someone else. Money talks BS walks after all.

Pan is a good idea, she's already close with all the Z fighters because she's Gohan's daughter, so I don't think it could be a terrible idea to let her take the lead. It would definitely be different though, I suppose I'd have a better idea once I get around to watching GT.

We just need stories without Corporations getting involved. The issue is that they make these shows and stories MOSTLY for profit, and you're not gonna get good story telling from a bunch of people seeking money. Sure, you can appreciate what they poop out to us, but what made Dragon Ball and Z good is that there was a single writer working on it, and respecting his characters and his story compared to now where the characters are literally just made to generate a profit, it isn't made for us to connect or root for them, you do that on your own, but they are literally rehashing the same shows or concepts for profit, and the art of story telling is almost out of the door. We need to support more original stories compared to company produced content.
The problem with having everyone be a threat is the fact that the whole power lvl system gets😮 thrown out the window. Arguably one of the greatest side tropes in anime is power lvl systems, and it came directly from dbz. I think the way you fix dbz is buy time with the universes that were not in the top. Have strong ass villans pop up there. At this point frieza is made as the final super villan who keeps getting stronger, like a rival. Have frieza control all the universes and hes headhunting gods. Since angels cant fight, if hes stronger than the GoD he has no worry. Have beerus be the strongest GoD so frieza attacks universe 7 last and goku and vegeta are trying to train as much as possible to defend universe 7. They can have vegeta kill frieza
while goten would be a nice fit for a new main character, I would go for Pan instead. it's far easier for her to carry Goku's legacy as a fighter. she takes training a lot more seriously than goten. Pan is what Gohan would had been if he hadn't focused on being a schoolar. both have the same teacher, Piccolo, but Pan wants to improve and Gohan wanted to go back to his mom and books.

Ki usage depends on person to person magician use it differently fighter's use it differently. Db never explained all those cause that's in guidebook and daizenshu where extended materials and information is given . And magician are much better at manipulating the ki itself while fighter's basically control the amount of it used .

Uub is one my friends and I have talked about a lot since that's essentially the direction End of Z hinted at when Goku took off to train him, but something about Uub taking over just doesn't sit right with me and I think it's because he's just too different from Goku too soon. Gotenks being a gag character got old fast though, they did him dirty in Super Hero.
Dragon ball legit can not exist without goku he’s an integral part of the world and what he stands for toryiama has straight up said he doesn’t see someone else taking the main lead because goku is baked into all the themes of the show

I LOVE THE WHOLE CAST FOR MANY REASONS and especially the OG Goku,but he's really close to hitting the unbreakable ceiling of power...which was one of many reasons why I still despize Zeno's introduction...since he's the end goal and having him kept secret and only having Whis and Beerus stay misterious...COULD have given the cast s much to do and to explore and etc. to get to the endpoint more naturally instead of RUSHED like in Super... BTW. I LOVE UI AND EGO AS WELL as a concept,but am dissapointed at how the cast....e. Goku and Vegeta were just forced to rush the acquirement of the forms instead of having them both go through much more..possibly needing a lot more time to even adapt at God form first,before going blue right after oand etc. Just saying that I'm also sad at how they just skipped God and went blue all the time instead of maybe doing something like the manga did with the exchange in forms...and also having god be faster could have been an justifycation of the switching if TOEI hadn't wanted to implement the healing ability from the B.O.G. movie... I think dragon Ball heroes could have been the way out. If it was being written well with focus on character development and more indepth fight choreo that uses characters available movesets to create more interesting battle dynamics, but instead it comes off as a shoddy fanfic.

A friend of mine often says he likes Broly's transformations more because they feel a lot more primal. I think if they were to re-introduce SSJ4 and maybe more into the canon, Broly would be a great way to introduce them.

Good video but I highly disagree with your take on “ki”. Ki s NOT a magic system. Ki cannot be compared to other anime’s take on energy because dragon ball has the most realistic definition of what ki is. EVERYBODY has ki. It is not an ability only some possess.
I think since Toriyama is already quite old I dont see a reason to change much about the Dragonball Franchise. He probably only has like 5 or 10 years left of being a mangaka so it would be nice if he could somehow find a way to have Dragonball have a nice satisfying ending so we dont get another Berserk or hxh. Just get goku to visit some other universes for 2 or 3 arcs to fight people there or visit universe 6 saiyan and then make him slowly as strong as the angels or whatever goal he wants goku to reach and somehow finish it. Cell: Goku lost, Gohan, the son beat the big bad with a new transformation yes but it wasnt Goku Buu: SPIRIT BOMB So where are these asspull transformations you speak of?

I'm going to be honest with you. Ultra Instinct is conceptually idiotic and he's been doing "ultra instinct" since the piccolo daimo arc. With it being demonstrated perfectly in his first fight against the berter and jaice. How he got it is idiotic and who ever wrote it has fuck all idea of how anything works in dragon ball. The form went from not being a new form and just muh skill when it demonstrates higher then normal speed and auto dodge mixed with spidey sense. Which just conceptually BREAKS all martial artistry this show will ever have on any level. It shows a total misunderstanding of the basics of martial arts and even worse how Dragon ball anything works. I mean...he got the form by being HURT by the spirit bomb and absorbing it somehow. That's idiotic. That's not how any of that works and if you think about it. Him being hurt by the genkidama outright states that Goku is evil.
Superman. Batman. Iron man. X men. Fantastic 4. Spider man. Flash. All of Marvel comics and DC. The issue is while a loud part of the fandom's want changes and to finally move on whenever the tried sales were high for a short time then tanked. All entertainment has this issue and very few has made it work to move forward without wrecking things. DB had a solid ending. DBZ had two different stopping points. Even GT had a rather solid ending. However every time it comes people demand more. More! More!! More!!! And so Toriyama goes "ugh, alright.." When he never wanted to. In short we need to get rid of all current people working on any plot points for DB as a whole for freshness. As for your idea.... You want to turn Ki, the very foundation of it all to introduce brand new things that we have never seen despite seeing not only legit gods but all the most powerful in the whole multiverse. It ruins the flavor, brings into question the forever why of never even having a hint before which is a major plothole and those are always bad, and honestly? We have magic in there already, Ki and God Ki. Bring the magic in as it is already there and established yo a degree. Bibidi, Babidi, Buu, Dabura with his spit, Piccolo at times, the dragon balls themselves and even older character like Baba. Build up the magic lore, characters and power then either have a young character that we known (Goten does work) find it and become obsessed with it. Searching for masters, rivals and training it to new heights. End stage could be fantastic armies of all new creatures different but built from magic like Buu. The War Of Magics or whatever. Ki becomes a useful secondary ability to protect yourself directly. Imagine if Babidi was as skilled and powerful a fighter as Vegeta on top of then magics we known that already exists in the show. He would have been an absolute beast. That is how to me you make the franchise move on. Not introduce a whole new thing buy grab a rarely used but still super powerful less talked about thing like magic and bring it to the main front. Heck the youngster can feel, rightfully, they will never reach Goku, Vegeta or the others so instead decide to make their own path instead of being in their shadows. It makes sense, the magic exists and the characters even exist already for of to work.
Goten was allways useless, also there's nothing wrong with ki please just stop. All of those anime you quote already use different variations of ki, that comes from fist of the north star, you don't make any sens to turn dragonball into something else, it doesn't need it. It's not the concept, the issue are the producers/writters...

The Dragonball Super manga is horrendous. Toyotaro’s writing pales in comparison to Akira Toriyama’s. Hopefully his last 2 arcs won’t be adapted. Ideally, he’d be fired and replaced with a better writer, with his version of Super retconned.

Dragon ball tried passing the torch, but the failed miserably. Adult Gohan and Goten and trunks are not Protagonist material. Toriyama tried making the next generation the lead but that part of the Buu arc is so boring. DB at this point only sells cuz of Goku and Vegeta, even tho I think that's what ruins the show. But I think DB needs a very strong origin story for the next gen. Even killing Goku and Vegeta in the process if needed, but DB would never do that at this point

They should have gone the Xenoverse route where its multiversal utilizing all of the existing timelines. So we would have, a main timeline, and a GT divergent timeline where there'd be multiple versions of each character. There are 3 existing timelines for example in 2 out of 3 Zamasu is dead yet in another Zamasu is very much alive. In the deleted timeline Goku died of the heart virus the Andriggitys bodied everyone then Trunks came back clapped them and Cell but then the whole Goku black/Zamasu thing happens and the timeline is erased so we have two Trunks in one timeline the main timeline created by Cell when he killed Future trunks in the unseen timeline and stole his time machine to travel back creating a divergent timeline that effects both the past and present and make a divergent timeline at both the point of departure and arrival, the way Trunks did when he traveled, what him leaving Bulma alone wont affect the future? And he changed the past by beating Goku to Frieza because he didn't know about instant transmission, one could argue thats 2 more divergent timelines right there one where Goku used instant transmission to get to earth and defeated Frieza instead of Trunks, and Trunks stayed behind to protect his mother and went back at a later date to warn them about the androids and give him the heart medicine. So there's a lot they can do with the timelines and the multiverse combined. There's 3 Trunks, 3 Pans, 3 Bulma's, 3 Vegetas, 3 Gohans, 2 Gokus so on and so forth and still a Zamasu running around somehwere in all the different timelines and thats with the exception of Zamasu thats Universe 7 alone. Then theres imagine a timeline where a GT cannon SSJ4 Goku fought Beerus or in the Tourney of power, or where someone other than 17 won and the deleted universes didn't get restored. Christ they could even pull El Hermano out of the bag, and instead of having him be Jiren's non cannoncal evil brother (he doesnt have a brother his whole race was exterminated and planet destroyed thats his backstory) but have him be Jiren from another timeline where he won the tournament of power and got his mysterious wish (probably to restore his home and people tbh) and has jumped timelines to whoop his main timelines counterparts ass for losing and showing him their planet restored trying to turn and recruit him and Goku and Vegeta have to team up with the main timeline aka "good" Jiren to stop him. Jiren is such an annoyingly OP but also wasted character and it'd be cool to see some arcs that center around other characters even ones that arent even necessarily "main characters" that the multiverse and divergent GT timeline have introduced us to whilst not completely leaving behind the main cast, like its Jiren's struggle but the Z homies got his back because if he goes down the whole universe is toast. Or an arc that opens up with a frantic Kale all banged, bruised and dusty running and flying for her life while carrying an unconscious Caulifla in her arms because Broly or a version of Vegeta from another timeline where he's still a straight demon ass villain and is as strong as ever came out the cut and we see Cabba get boomed/deleted trying to hold him off, all because they thought they knew this dude and shit was sweet only to find out this aint your grandpas Vegeta or Frieza he's coming for your ass and they need to call in to universes 7 and what 5? For backup. It'd be cool to see, especially the bad guys turned good, fight evil versions of themselves from other timelines that are disgusted with their failures. You have to remember there are theoretically timelines where the real pure Majinn Buu, the black star dragons, bibidi and babidi, Baby all, the androids from the movies, Garlic Jr whos completely immortal like Zamasu and is just locked in the dead zone all these niggas are potentially still alive and out there and in Garlic Jr's case hes still alive in every timeline. Just because they never showed up and made their moves in a particular timeline, doesnt mean they dont exist in it. Once you understand DragonBall time, the multiple divergent timelines, you start to understand the movie cannon and realize they really don't conflict with the main Cannon because there is no main cannon because there are still at least 3 existing timelines and 12 universes. 12 universe's x 3 timelines at least theres a lot they can do with DragonBall. And seeing What looked like bibidi or babidis face in the Daima Trailers makes me think we might actually see some of that angle of multiverse x # of timelines. Because again theres another babidi etc. In another timeline and a universal counterpart in each universe in each timeline like how Kale is U6 Broleesha. There are 3 types of DragonBall cannon, manga, anime , and OVA but there's really only one because the multiverse x number of timelines equation explains the contradictions. Thats how you end up with hey how is the sqaud fighting Bojack and his crew with this "Trunks" guy they've never met before, Gohans at least 12 and SSJ2 when they should be on planet namek....thats because thats a different cast, and a different series of events in a different timeline. This has been explained multiple times by many people and Laughingstock media has a great video on the timelines. I just don't want it to end up like Heroes where they just have random ass cool fights and no real plot, and stupid shit like UI Goku beats SSJ4 Goku which is cannonically impossible bit whatever they have a lot to work with lets hope they dont fumble the bag.

Omg you said what I been thinking for the longest. Ki (especially God Ki) should be able to do far more than just hit people 'really hard'. Frieza when we first saw him on Namek used Ki similar to how the Force from Star Wars was used. He could create large whirlpools in water with it, he could lift mountains. I know that doesn't sound like much, but it least we saw a character do something *(Anything)* with their ki beyond just standard punches and energy blasts.
And don't get me started on God Ki. That wasted concept is why we can't have nice things. *Because the writers are NEVER going to fully expand upon it's full capabilities and potential*

On the magic system part, I actually don't think they should change Ki or expand it necessarily because at least with Z, due power scaling being linear, whenever they try to do that it ends up just confusing people on how strong or how effective something is, because the writers tend to keep it consistent with how the transformations work (even if it shouldn't be, like Ultra Instinct). Where as in Naruto, scaling isnt linear and objective. Scaling is more about who can do the most with their chakra in the moment of an attack or defense, like a giant buff but the characters themselves aren't by default stronger than each other in the same way Dragonball characters are.
With Dragonball, power is just based on stacking. Its why the scaling of Super Saiyan God and SSB were so all over the place, because the audience and writers are just used to the linear measurement. We assume every character should be as strong as or stronger than Goku, but when a character who isnt implied to be, shows up and beats him up in that form, it just stops suspension of disbelief. Like the TOP. What they should do instead was just keep Ki the same but, use other energies outside of it to add onto what characters can do in addition to their base ki scaling. The problem with God ki, is that its not treated as a buff to their own ki, its just a recolor of the same thing. This is why Majin Buu, and Janemba were refreshing. Because they are also part magic and magic is its own set of energy outside of Ki for that to work, while their own ki scales them against the characters who just use Ki.

Blue and God were all over the place because the writers are morons and suits don't know what they are doing but want to push their own ideas and the VA have way more power then they should have.
They already have something in place and could have worked from there. Right now GOku and Vegeta are weaker then everyone else because they NEED god ki to keep up. So anyone who gets god ki will get a total booost that puts them beyond them.
Blue has been completely downgraded to junk form, UI will NEVER make any sense because the creators don't know a damned thing about dragon ball or basic martial arts, and ultra ego makes even less sense.
And tying power to changes in forms was stupid.
They could have had every race have different ways of dealing with ki.
Saiyajins have large ki pools and get stronger from fighting or pushing themselves. They have relatively small spiritual ki pools and can use it to stack on top of their considerable ki pools.
Namekians have huge spiritual ki pools and few namekians have the ability to transform their spiritual ki pools into normal ki. Training for them has more to do with harnessing spiritual ki and transfomring it into normal ki as evidenced by meditation. Piccolo not INSTANTLY sensing god ki and being shown to dwarf both goku and vegeta in terms of god ki amount was a misstep.
As a matter of fact, it should have been shown that shin vastly out pulls goku and vegeta in terms of spiritual ki.
Humans are highly talented and adapted at efficient ki use but are ultimately hampered by their smaller ki pools and no connection to spiritual ki. They are the most talented normal ki users in the universe and create unbelievably complex and powerful abilities with ease and can efficiently handle their tiny amount of spiritual ki.. For a human to stand next to the saiyajins they would have to use their natual ability to use ki and the multiplicative affect any ki abgility they use has.
Master roshi's idiotic power up in the ToP while the other humans were trash unless enhanced or liked by the writers/suits was terrible.
Master Roshi learning the basics of godki/spiritual ki and it having a massive boost for normal humans in terms of fighting ability and power boost for humans who have masterd ki control would make sense.
God Ki/spiritual ki be a form of ki that everyone has in various amounts and is more powerful then...normal ki. Like nitro versus gasoline. There is also the possibility to add in time it would take to store god/spiritual ki.
The reason why DBZ was so successful was because they were able to focus the series a lot on Gohan's growing while keeping Goku the main character, I think they should've done that with Goten and Trunks, It would made the series more interesting and the story could keep the important story bits as it was but by focusing more on Goten and Trunks things would be so much more interesting.
Saying Goten should be Goku's succesor, when Uub was LITERALLY written as Goku's succesor year's ago is crazy, also the complex magic system thing FUNDAMENTALY doesn't work with Dragon Ball since Db is a story that has been presented with a SIMPLE P.S and it's pretty weird how you don't mention Magic (like the one Uub HAS), God Ki (even if they did nothing with it) or a lot of characters that have weird abilities that are never explored. (Hit and guldo time abilities, Hearts and U2 gravity powers or just tech and how it's used in the story)
That being said I do agree with the fact that Dragon Ball as a franchise NEED'S to let Goku go as a protagonist, and some other thing you talked about.
Majin Buu has Lots of Magic Attacks etc. In Dragonball Multiverse it has Many Beings with Magical Powers( Xxi Defeated Vegito)
The main reason I would pick Goten over Uub is because of his similarities to Goku. The series is holding on to Goku as much as it can right now, so if we can start small changing protagonists, Goten would feel like much less radical a departure than Uub.
I am also biased, I like Goten a lot more than I like Uub.

I would like to say, I thought the ideas of spirit fission and the new magic morrow brought to the table were really good steps in the right direction. They were basically introducing us to new systems that were essentially anti ki.
I think that’s why the first half of the Moro arc was so good, but this is dragon ball super and all that matters is if your power level is high

But no, we can't move on. We aren't allowed to let go of Goku and Vegeta.
I think the problem is that Dragonball has already written itself into a corner.
The characters have been written so that they just don't match the title of protagonist for the show the only proper character I can think of is Future Trunks, but that line has already been crossed and burned, along with his entire interesting timeline. We have become so used to Goku as our protagonist that more than half of the DB fanbase would probably just hate whatever new protagonist Toryiama may try to give because none of the characters enjoy fighting and seeking greater strength like Goku does. Unfortunately that is what Dragonball has already become about now, becoming stronger to beat the next bad guy, repeat. Strike one.
Secondly, they have already lost nearly all chance to expand on ki as well, God Ki for example is just normal ki but stronger, not detectable by beings without it, and USED TO have to be contained carefully by its user to use its full power, which has not been explored further either, it's nothing else but a bragging right. That's strike two.
They should end the series probably after 28th Tenkaichi Budokai or after Black Freeza since the series has been around for almost 40 years and they should end it by then. If they don't then they can use Uub as a protag, Toriyama didn't want Gohan as protag since he didn't fit the character of a MC, however we don't really know much about Uub's character ever since EoZ
The "writers" and suieduits in shuiesha destroyed any chance of any other character having any ability to go forth. They RUINED trunks with the terrible future trunks timeline. Hell "Black" was supposed to be Future Goten. But they pushed it to be future goku and the story is so idiotic convoluted and destroyed DB time travel and multiversal concepts that Trunks is permanently shelved.
Goten and Kid Trunks were tossed to the side for more wakka wakka goku and muh pride vegeta bull when they could have had a natural way for the boys to have their own adventures and gain their own cast of characters.

Gohan was ruined by two things. The terrible Editorial decicisions behind the great saiyaman debacle. And the constant attempts to make him goku 2 an actual hero edition.

As a Goten fan i couldn't agree more when it comes to who should replace Goku, with Goten we would maintain a sense of familiarity since hes still share some traits with his father, but he still has much to explore, like how his path as a warrior differs from the other Z fighters, or how he feel about being in Goku and Gohan's shadows.
In regards to Overhaul the ki system, even if only slightly i think it might be too jarring, and i would personally much rather see them expand on what we already know, like what more precise ki control could look like, like further elaboration on ki weapons like, Goku Black's ki scythe, or maybe we could learn more about how mortal ki and god ki interact, we could see how combining the two energies would affect attacks, or maybe they will explain why SSB and Rosèe aren't the same thing.
Goku Black's ki scythe is actually what gave me the idea to pull from nen. I'm not too far into HunterXHunter personally yet, but the ideas of using ki as a "conjurer" type was essentially what gave me the idea.

Uub
The original manga ended with Goku passing the torch to Uub, even giving him his Flying Nimbus in the Kazenban version of the last chapter, he is *the chosen successor of Goku* . The fact that he is not a saiyan, but a being reincarnated from a magic demon with godly potential inside, by itself would make him take a different road than his master and with that, it would be possible to expand the power system of the verse if needed. Gohan, Trunks, Goten, Pan, none of them could go to such a different road like Uub can, while still being similar to Goku in a few ways.
My issue with this you have four saiyans you could use trunks Goten pan and bulla I don't understand the dragon ball gt idea of de aging the character to a child state

I will never accept the claims that dragonball has written itself into a corner, nor that they have no ways to progress the story. When dragonball multiverse AF (both versions), deliverance and dragonball kakumei do such a great job at telling amazing stories within the universe of dragonball then we know that there is a ton more than can be done and it just needs proper writing.
I don't think there's no ways, but I think they need to get creative sooner rather than later.
I remember hearing from a RUclipsr that Boruto should have been Naruto’s grandson, after Naruto is long gone. So they can have news stories but not ruin old characters.
Maybe do that with Dragon Ball have a new series with almost everyone dead from the original show but the new characters, get to live in the amazing world of Dragon. So this can make it to where the new characters can have there stories without ruining old Dragon Ball stories or Characters.

Boruto is an interesting case, I don't think it handles its legacy characters as poorly as some of the other series I've seen, but I can agree it would probably be better to give the series' a bit more distance.
Giving it a good timeskip probably would keep them focusing on the new case, I just hope a theoretical show like this wouldn't make me feel about Dragon Ball how my friends feel about Korra as Avatar fans lmao
I've said for YEARS that Goten is the perfect character to take over as the new protagonist of the DB series. He is a literal prodigy that accidentally achieved legendary ssj status at the age of 7 before he even learned to fly. Just like gohan he has unbelievable untapped potential that can make him the strongest character. But unlike Gohan, Goten would willingly try to achieve his ultimate potential. And the biggest difference from Goten and Gohan, and the best difference is how polar Goten is to his brother character wise. Gohan has spent his whole life being pushed into battle while never really wanting to, as for Goten he has spent his whole life being held back from fighting. Just like his father Goten naturally loves squaring up and matching his skill set and power against all comers, he loves the smoke. Gotens development is easily an awesome 250 episode series at the least, fighting side by side w Trunks and the crew. Akira has been sitting on this gold mind for decades and has never even given Goten a 2nd look. So frustrating!!!
I agree, another thing I'd agreed and expand on is that Dragon Ball as a series feels like this untapped goldmine of ideas. I love what it's had, but I feel like they've introduced characters, abilities, concepts and designs that could have been weaved much deeper into the story or incorporated in the ongoing story in a better way and they just go for something much less interesting from hindsight.
Dragon Ball has done the successor idea, but only really stuck with it in the video games. Beat from Dragon Ball Heroes, Tekka from Fusions, the Warriors from Dragon Ball Online, and arguably the TimePatrollers in Xenoverse and Shallot in Legends, though calling the latter 2 successors isn't exactly accurate.

The Time Patrollers are interesting, my knowledge really only comes from playing XV2, but from that they feel a bit too far removed from the main continuity to be the continuation of it. As for the others I guess I'm not too terribly familiar with them.

I agree with Goten getting some spotlight and possibly developing into a new protagonist but i really disagree with them messing with Ki.
Magic already exists in the dragonball universe and Ki isn't even considered Magic, Ki is just simply energy. So relating ki to magic is just fundamentally wrong to do.
If you had to do something with Ki to spice it up then introduce a new Ki system like what Dragonball Super did with God Ki, which was just the same as normal Ki except way more focused and powerful and unable to be sensed by people who don't have it which was highly unique. Not to mention the new moves it brought along with it such as Hakai
I dont think toriyama knew in the 80s that dragon Ball would become a world phenomenon. As for continuing the story with a new protagonist i dont think it will happen because goku is dragon ball especially when you look at toriyama being influenced by journey to the west and Goku being a son wukong stand in. I just like to see daima go back to its roots with being a adventure world building story that has fighting in it like og dragon Ball. I know fighting and power scaling became a big part of people discussing dragon Ball z and people primarily liking dragon ball for that fact. I guess what im trying to say is dragon ball is more than just power scaling and transformations, those were just a kind of a means to an end for what story toriyama was imagining to put on paper to advance and evolve a story.
You have a character in dragon ball that filled out what you looking for that character is Uub. Since he is a reincarnation of Buu he can add more depth into Ki by adding magic into the mix and also expanding combat for future fights and generations of character. It's like you don't even know who Uub is when making this video.
Dragonball Multiverse Also utilized Ubb in Recent Chapters and had him as a Student of Zen Buu.
Pan would make a great protagonist due to the connection to goku, gohan, and piccolo. As well has her potential and age (remember Goten is now 16ish and pan is 5ish meaning more time/phases of development.)
One way to expand Ki is to use Ki blades. I can only think of 3 characters you use them in the whole series and that is the way to few.

You make great point. In Most Shonen manga series the main leads are mostly young or teenage boys due to that being the demographics of the readers.
Though there are some female shonen protagonist. I also believe Pan being the lead would be more profitable then goten or someone else.

Pan is a good idea, she's already close with all the Z fighters because she's Gohan's daughter, so I don't think it could be a terrible idea to let her take the lead. It would definitely be different though, I suppose I'd have a better idea once I get around to watching GT.

We just need stories without Corporations getting involved. The issue is that they make these shows and stories MOSTLY for profit, and you're not gonna get good story telling from a bunch of people seeking money. Sure, you can appreciate what they poop out to us, but what made Dragon Ball and Z good is that there was a single writer working on it, and respecting his characters and his story compared to now where the characters are literally just made to generate a profit, it isn't made for us to connect or root for them, you do that on your own, but they are literally rehashing the same shows or concepts for profit, and the art of story telling is almost out of the door. We need to support more original stories compared to company produced content.
Dragon Ball is already a thing that was good long time ago, but still releases today as a shell of its former self. Super killed its legacy for good.
The problem with having everyone be a threat is the fact that the whole power lvl system gets😮 thrown out the window. Arguably one of the greatest side tropes in anime is power lvl systems, and it came directly from dbz. I think the way you fix dbz is buy time with the universes that were not in the top. Have strong ass villans pop up there. At this point frieza is made as the final super villan who keeps getting stronger, like a rival. Have frieza control all the universes and hes headhunting gods. Since angels cant fight, if hes stronger than the GoD he has no worry. Have beerus be the strongest GoD so frieza attacks universe 7 last and goku and vegeta are trying to train as much as possible to defend universe 7. They can have vegeta kill frieza

Pan is what Gohan would had been if he hadn't focused on being a schoolar. both have the same teacher, Piccolo, but Pan wants to improve and Gohan wanted to go back to his mom and books.

Ki usage depends on person to person magician use it differently fighter's use it differently.
Db never explained all those cause that's in guidebook and daizenshu where extended materials and information is given . And magician are much better at manipulating the ki itself while fighter's basically control the amount of it used .

Uub is one my friends and I have talked about a lot since that's essentially the direction End of Z hinted at when Goku took off to train him, but something about Uub taking over just doesn't sit right with me and I think it's because he's just too different from Goku too soon.

Trunks and Goten NEED to get up to date instead of just staying on SSJ1 or being dependant on GOTENKS all the time...they could also maybe uncover new techniques or ways of using KI or sth...
I LOVE THE WHOLE CAST FOR MANY REASONS and especially the OG Goku,but he's really close to hitting the unbreakable ceiling of power...which was one of many reasons why I still despize Zeno's introduction...since he's the end goal and having him kept secret and only having Whis and Beerus stay misterious...COULD have given the cast s much to do and to explore and etc. to get to the endpoint more naturally instead of RUSHED like in Super...
BTW. I LOVE UI AND EGO AS WELL as a concept,but am dissapointed at how the cast....e. Goku and Vegeta were just forced to rush the acquirement of the forms instead of having them both go through much more..possibly needing a lot more time to even adapt at God form first,before going blue right after oand etc.

I think dragon Ball heroes could have been the way out. If it was being written well with focus on character development and more indepth fight choreo that uses characters available movesets to create more interesting battle dynamics, but instead it comes off as a shoddy fanfic.

A friend of mine often says he likes Broly's transformations more because they feel a lot more primal. I think if they were to re-introduce SSJ4 and maybe more into the canon, Broly would be a great way to introduce them.

Good video but I highly disagree with your take on “ki”. Ki s NOT a magic system. Ki cannot be compared to other anime’s take on energy because dragon ball has the most realistic definition of what ki is. EVERYBODY has ki. It is not an ability only some possess.

I think since Toriyama is already quite old I dont see a reason to change much about the Dragonball Franchise. He probably only has like 5 or 10 years left of being a mangaka so it would be nice if he could somehow find a way to have Dragonball have a nice satisfying ending so we dont get another Berserk or hxh. Just get goku to visit some other universes for 2 or 3 arcs to fight people there or visit universe 6 saiyan and then make him slowly as strong as the angels or whatever goal he wants goku to reach and somehow finish it. He thought about changing focus to gohan after the Cell Saga. Back then it might have been a good idea but I think its to late now.

I'm going to be honest with you.
Ultra Instinct is conceptually idiotic and he's been doing "ultra instinct" since the piccolo daimo arc. With it being demonstrated perfectly in his first fight against the berter and jaice.
How he got it is idiotic and who ever wrote it has fuck all idea of how anything works in dragon ball. The form went from not being a new form and just muh skill when it demonstrates higher then normal speed and auto dodge mixed with spidey sense.
Which just conceptually BREAKS all martial artistry this show will ever have on any level. It shows a total misunderstanding of the basics of martial arts and even worse how Dragon ball anything works.
I mean...he got the form by being HURT by the spirit bomb and absorbing it somehow. That's idiotic. That's not how any of that works and if you think about it. Him being hurt by the genkidama outright states that Goku is evil.
Superman. Batman. Iron man. X men. Fantastic 4. Spider man. Flash. All of Marvel comics and DC.
The issue is while a loud part of the fandom's want changes and to finally move on whenever the tried sales were high for a short time then tanked.
All entertainment has this issue and very few has made it work to move forward without wrecking things.
DB had a solid ending. DBZ had two different stopping points. Even GT had a rather solid ending.
However every time it comes people demand more. More! More!! More!!! And so Toriyama goes "ugh, alright.." When he never wanted to.
In short we need to get rid of all current people working on any plot points for DB as a whole for freshness.
As for your idea.... You want to turn Ki, the very foundation of it all to introduce brand new things that we have never seen despite seeing not only legit gods but all the most powerful in the whole multiverse. It ruins the flavor, brings into question the forever why of never even having a hint before which is a major plothole and those are always bad, and honestly? We have magic in there already, Ki and God Ki.
Bring the magic in as it is already there and established yo a degree. Bibidi, Babidi, Buu, Dabura with his spit, Piccolo at times, the dragon balls themselves and even older character like Baba.
Build up the magic lore, characters and power then either have a young character that we known (Goten does work) find it and become obsessed with it. Searching for masters, rivals and training it to new heights.
End stage could be fantastic armies of all new creatures different but built from magic like Buu. The War Of Magics or whatever.
Ki becomes a useful secondary ability to protect yourself directly. Imagine if Babidi was as skilled and powerful a fighter as Vegeta on top of then magics we known that already exists in the show.
He would have been an absolute beast.
That is how to me you make the franchise move on. Not introduce a whole new thing buy grab a rarely used but still super powerful less talked about thing like magic and bring it to the main front.
Heck the youngster can feel, rightfully, they will never reach Goku, Vegeta or the others so instead decide to make their own path instead of being in their shadows. It makes sense, the magic exists and the characters even exist already for of to work.

The Dragonball Super manga is horrendous. Toyotaro’s writing pales in comparison to Akira Toriyama’s. Hopefully his last 2 arcs won’t be adapted. Ideally, he’d be fired and replaced with a better writer, with his version of Super retconned.

@@s0apadopa They only list Toriyama as writer to acknowledge he’s the creator of the series and for promotion sake. Toyotaro actually writes the Dragonball Super manga. You can even see him saying so in the interviews. Moreover, the characters Moro and Granolah were his ideas.

Dragon ball tried passing the torch, but the failed miserably. Adult Gohan and Goten and trunks are not Protagonist material. Toriyama tried making the next generation the lead but that part of the Buu arc is so boring. DB at this point only sells cuz of Goku and Vegeta, even tho I think that's what ruins the show. But I think DB needs a very strong origin story for the next gen. Even killing Goku and Vegeta in the process if needed, but DB would never do that at this point

They should have gone the Xenoverse route where its multiversal utilizing all of the existing timelines. So we would have, a main timeline, and a GT divergent timeline where there'd be multiple versions of each character. There are 3 existing timelines for example in 2 out of 3 Zamasu is dead yet in another Zamasu is very much alive. In the deleted timeline Goku died of the heart virus the Andriggitys bodied everyone then Trunks came back clapped them and Cell but then the whole Goku black/Zamasu thing happens and the timeline is erased so we have two Trunks in one timeline the main timeline created by Cell when he killed Future trunks in the unseen timeline and stole his time machine to travel back creating a divergent timeline that effects both the past and present and make a divergent timeline at both the point of departure and arrival, the way Trunks did when he traveled, what him leaving Bulma alone wont affect the future? And he changed the past by beating Goku to Frieza because he didn't know about instant transmission, one could argue thats 2 more divergent timelines right there one where Goku used instant transmission to get to earth and defeated Frieza instead of Trunks, and Trunks stayed behind to protect his mother and went back at a later date to warn them about the androids and give him the heart medicine. So there's a lot they can do with the timelines and the multiverse combined. There's 3 Trunks, 3 Pans, 3 Bulma's, 3 Vegetas, 3 Gohans, 2 Gokus so on and so forth and still a Zamasu running around somehwere in all the different timelines and thats with the exception of Zamasu thats Universe 7 alone. Then theres imagine a timeline where a GT cannon SSJ4 Goku fought Beerus or in the Tourney of power, or where someone other than 17 won and the deleted universes didn't get restored. Christ they could even pull El Hermano out of the bag, and instead of having him be Jiren's non cannoncal evil brother (he doesnt have a brother his whole race was exterminated and planet destroyed thats his backstory) but have him be Jiren from another timeline where he won the tournament of power and got his mysterious wish (probably to restore his home and people tbh) and has jumped timelines to whoop his main timelines counterparts ass for losing and showing him their planet restored trying to turn and recruit him and Goku and Vegeta have to team up with the main timeline aka "good" Jiren to stop him. Jiren is such an annoyingly OP but also wasted character and it'd be cool to see some arcs that center around other characters even ones that arent even necessarily "main characters" that the multiverse and divergent GT timeline have introduced us to whilst not completely leaving behind the main cast, like its Jiren's struggle but the Z homies got his back because if he goes down the whole universe is toast. Or an arc that opens up with a frantic Kale all banged, bruised and dusty running and flying for her life while carrying an unconscious Caulifla in her arms because Broly or a version of Vegeta from another timeline where he's still a straight demon ass villain and is as strong as ever came out the cut and we see Cabba get boomed/deleted trying to hold him off, all because they thought they knew this dude and shit was sweet only to find out this aint your grandpas Vegeta or Frieza he's coming for your ass and they need to call in to universes 7 and what 5? For backup. It'd be cool to see, especially the bad guys turned good, fight evil versions of themselves from other timelines that are disgusted with their failures. You have to remember there are theoretically timelines where the real pure Majinn Buu, the black star dragons, bibidi and babidi, Baby all, the androids from the movies, Garlic Jr whos completely immortal like Zamasu and is just locked in the dead zone all these niggas are potentially still alive and out there and in Garlic Jr's case hes still alive in every timeline. Just because they never showed up and made their moves in a particular timeline, doesnt mean they dont exist in it. Once you understand DragonBall time, the multiple divergent timelines, you start to understand the movie cannon and realize they really don't conflict with the main Cannon because there is no main cannon because there are still at least 3 existing timelines and 12 universes.
12 universe's x 3 timelines at least theres a lot they can do with DragonBall. And seeing What looked like bibidi or babidis face in the Daima Trailers makes me think we might actually see some of that angle of multiverse x # of timelines. Because again theres another babidi etc. In another timeline and a universal counterpart in each universe in each timeline like how Kale is U6 Broleesha. There are 3 types of DragonBall cannon, manga, anime , and OVA but there's really only one because the multiverse x number of timelines equation explains the contradictions. Thats how you end up with hey how is the sqaud fighting Bojack and his crew with this "Trunks" guy they've never met before, Gohans at least 12 and SSJ2 when they should be on planet namek....thats because thats a different cast, and a different series of events in a different timeline. This has been explained multiple times by many people and Laughingstock media has a great video on the timelines. I just don't want it to end up like Heroes where they just have random ass cool fights and no real plot, and stupid shit like UI Goku beats SSJ4 Goku which is cannonically impossible bit whatever they have a lot to work with lets hope they dont fumble the bag.
