This Buckeyes team will always be special to me. It was a paradigm shifter and the epitome of the “Next Man Up” mentality. It’s relevant today because so many players hit the transfer portal too soon.
Favorite memory from this team has to be the win at Michigan State. It was not only a statement win that proved they were for real that season but they also got revenge for the BIG Ten Championship loss that occurred a year earlier against Michigan State.
I was 8 when we won it was about midnight I remember and we went outside and shot fireworks off to celebrate we pissed off our neighbors but it’s still one of my favorite memories
Something not mentioned is that Ohio St. had to go through all 3 Heisman finalists that year. Melvin Gordon was the RB for Wisconsin, Amari Cooper was the WR for Alabama, and then the Heisman winner in Marcus Mariota.
if osu wins the natty that would be two 3 star recruited qbs to do so for osu. weird coincidence considering we really haven’t won sh*t with 5 and 4 star qbs
An 8 team CFP wouldve been great that year and I think the CFP wouldve been: 1. Alabama vs 8. Michigan St. 2. Oregon vs 7. Mississippi St. 3. Florida St vs 6. TCU 4. Ohio State vs 5. Baylor A CFP with Mariota, Jameis, Boykin, Jones, and Prescott wouldve been a movie
@Guccimanny like what poop the bed in big games?? They do that every year... Ostate they lost, Big Ten title game they lost, pretty sure they lose v Notre Dame
I would like to know why 12guage was a backup that man was a starter QB and way overlooked these coachs can't judge worth a shit but they get paid millions they should be glad Jones didnt transfer
JT Barrett, compared to Cardale Jones, was the better player if we're talking about consistency. I think JT might have even been the better QB in terms of upside, too. To be fair, I don't think the offensive coaching staff did any favors to JT or Cardale in that 2015. When we finally settled with JT the team took off to a new level. 12 gauge was the guy we needed for the 2014 postseason run, and he handled the pressure of that situation very well-- but at the end of the day, JT was just the better, more consistent QB.
@@baractusobamiuscaesar5540JT did not have the arm or size as much though. Better runner and maybe little more accurate, but Jones probably had more potential.
As much as Ohio st dominated that year. Man TCU making the playoff would have been wild cause they had some serious firepower. 😳 poor Ole Miss... they was given to the frogs and TCU crushed them on natuonal tv.😂
That year it should’ve been: Alabama, Oregon, Ohio State, and Baylor (since they beat TCU) Florida State should’ve never been in and were struggling all year TCU was dominant but losing to Baylor hurts them, otherwise, they would’ve been in over Ohio State
Everyone loves “head to head” until it comes to Baylor vs TCU. I never hear anyone argue it should be Baylor. Always TCU over OSU. Also I think FSU should’ve been left out. They had a worse regular season than the 2023 team that was left out
We spent LESS than Texas and other teams and most of that money went to returning starters. You mad? Because we did NOT spend the most in NIL, not in the slightest

The run through the heart of the south by zeke
Mine too.....Totally broke Bama's spirit.
@@jakemidkiff5720But they won 3 titles after even. Nearly won 4 if they had won in 2021 season.

Calling OSU a Cinderella team is wild.
Cardale Jones = the best
I will always remember when evan spencer threw that TD to Michael Thomas and that toe tap
I attended several games from that season, including MSU, PSU and all 3 post-season games by myself at the age of 65!
I mean, “cinderella” for OSU is not fair to start with lol. Back then my Penn State was still very struggling
An can't beat OState.
but Penn state never did anything like this what does it have to do with anythibg

The storyline itself is probably the best in the College Football Playoff era.

Then they benched him in 2015 for JT and we lost to MSU. Cardale was better for that team against better teams I think.

FSU was undefeated and the defending champs though.
The 59-0 Stomping of Wisconsin for the Big 10 Championship!!!! Absolutely the BEST CFP RUN!!! Thanks for this kick A$$ video!!!
I talk about this game all the time. Most fun I've ever had watching a buckeye game

They were never gonna leave the unbeaten defending national champs out lol.
Not the same team at all and ball knowers know that. Committee is way too PC for my liking. Ball dont lie. 59-20 dont lie
@@RadicallyOptimistic Oh I know, but at the time, there is no good justification to leave them out. Even now there isn't lol.

OSU went out a BOUGHT a football team.

Tf is this clown talking about??😂
12 gauge shocked the world!!! Too bad thet NFL didn't give him a chance to shine.
I don’t think he was a hard enough worker. Why he was backup to JT that season even.
