I'd love to hear what we got wrong, we really want to learn fast and put out some good games! I know I got the number of shots for my dreadnought and my razorback wrong but if there's anything else please say!
First off I wanna say your looking really good Duncan. But on the game you guys didn't do too bad if it's one of your first 8th edition games. My advice is too keep your codexes on you they are good reference and are better then the data sheets your using. Other then that just study up more. BTW the paint jobs are pretty good better them any of my armies. Good job I hope you guys do more of this stuff
maybe a gimble for the camera would be better but im guessing this is pre recorded
Honestly, I haven't played since 5th edition so I really don't care if you guys flub up as long as you keep it fast and fun. I look forward to more! Also, get someone in the office to play one of the eldar factions. :)
Tristan Sweatt they even said why they used the data sheets instead of the codex's that they have.
I'm not up to date on the rules but back when I played I don't recall someone been able to shoot as much as your lord and then charge into assault. So double check the rules there

Great start guys loving the painted armies and the table. Lewis don't forget about the Overlord's My Will be Done special rule to hand out a +1 to hit to a unit. Also Necrons should always be using the Command Point stratagem to auto pass morale to get those squads to roll their reanimations. Overall though very entertaining :D

I was just about to mention how he rests his chin on the table lmao.
The drednought has more shots than that with the 2 twin autocannons and so does the razorbacks assault cannons Duncan.

yeah I got those wrong! forgot the dreadnought has 2 twin autocannons and got the number of assualt cannon shots wrong

I'm pretty sure Ben's captain, lieutenant and ancient were too far away from most of his infantry to let him get those re-rolls and the attacks as they die. EDIT: Lewis, heavy weapons get -1 to hit if the unit moved, which it did. Those 3 hits should have only been 2 hits. Fun game though!
The camera angle at 6:25 is great. It shows a good overview of the battlefield. Good job to whoever set it up and good job to the editor(s) too.

Twin assault cannons have 12 shots
When you move with a heavy weapon it give you -1 to hit (Duncan's razorback turn one)
The character on the bike has toughness 5
but really lovely it :D
For a first game they arent making as many rule errors as i thought, they are getting the majority of all the to hit and to wound and charge stuff right.
the Amount of shots is something you can easily misremember if your new, and the -1 to hit for moving is easy to forget (especialy on a vehicle)

Funny thing is, there aren't any wolves on Fenris, the world of the Space Wolves (Which is a BAD imperial translation from the Great Crusade era). In fact, they are all decedents of the original colonists, some of whom devolved into wolf-like forms when the genetic implants and modifications designed to help them survive Fenris' Death Worldliness worked too well. So you see all those fur capes and stuff? That's HUMAN SKIN. I love my space Vikings.

That Triarch stalker (spider guy) has 1 twin heavy gauss cannon with a profile or heavy 2 means he only has 2 shots, not 4 shots. Still fun to watch though, keep it up.

You guys should collaborate with table top tactics! There a UK based 40k channel! They know a lot about 40k and have beautiful army's and I'm sure they'd be happy to do some cross promotion!

Camera was fine but the lighting seems a strange choice to me. You would be able to see the models a lot clearer with more and brighter lighting all round rather than making the room mostly dark.
Great to see you guys playing games so soon after the painting vids came out though.

might I suggest you guys watch some battle reports from MiniWarGaming, especially the ones Matt does. They're very professional and you might be able to pick up some hints and tips about how to film and stage your reports

Necrons were so broken in 7th edition, i had a lot of fun playing them, but i guess they got nerfed
well they dont have a codex yet, but there get back up rule is reaaaaaly nasty, as you test EVERY turn for every dead model, it can be really hard to deal with if you dont wipe a unit quickly

Just as a piece of advice, you guys should build line of sight blocking terrain! It could be a video, and it will make games Waaaaaay more interesting. Totally understand this is the first game for you guys and probably recorded a while back, but trust me gonna be sweet.

Tell Duncan to use magnets for his tank guns, so then hey won't come out during battle.
Brandon Harrison you don’t magnetise turret weapons, when you can swap the whole turret.
You can but put magnets on the guns but you would need a very small drill and very small magnets. ive messed up putting them in guns multiple times so i just put them in the whole turret

I could not be more pleased. Thank you all so much for working so hard to give us all this 40k content. Nothing beats painting up my Ad-mech force while watching you all paint and play games. I hope this series lasts and that others may find it as enjoyable as i do.

Absolutely this - or better yet the same camera mounted above the board and pointed straight down. Also if the table could be a bit more lit (maybe some softboxes above the board) that would be ideal
Even warhammer, lewis openly says "12 inch range, I'm sure things are in range" - clearly sees back wolves ARENT in range, then "I'm gonna attack your wolves" .....

I wanna say i have seen more rules mistakes in Warhammer only devoted channels here's a couple things i saw that where not played wrong but could use some clarification? I guess? also more comments = better algorithm to right so..
Rules
The "counter charge" is called a pile in and it is 3 inches you can do this with any unit that you are about to melee attack with.
Command points: you can use one command point per phase so once per shooting or once per battle shock (moral phase) but as Duncan said you cant re-roll any dice more than once.

I have been a fan of Arch Warhammer for his lore videos on both WH and WH 40k and I already then felt out of my dpeth. Now I'm reading the comment section and oh my god, I am WAY out of my league here!

I realize this is massively old content and also that yogscast down read comments, but I'd recommend emulating striking scorpion82s style when it comes to recording warhammer battles. If anyone enjoyed this and is interested in a much much more... experienced warhammer channel, I can't recommend SS82 enough.
