Exactly. Anything more than $8.6 million is more than the Bruins can afford without waiving someone, so I seriously doubt he's asking for anything more than that.

Yeah, Swayman isn't taking the Saros deal -- that was below market value, and he's clearly stated it's important to him not to ruin the goalie market for others.
Hellebuyck's cap hit is 8.5 million. Can he argue he's worth more than Hellebuyck?

As Lindgren goes, so go the Rangers. If he's out for a significant amount of time, NYR could struggle for a while.
He is a key guy, but the Rangers will be okay with their depth and young guys for the beginning of the season.

Habs used 4 different goalies for the 2 shutouts. Didn't give up a PP goal in 10 but Habs were 0/11 themselves on PP. Doesn't mean much but the Flyers in the first game, they didn't look very interested. Was really sad to watch.
Swayman is key in bruins wins... im sure there has to be some sort of middle ground... or im wrong...
As a Bruins fan I'm passed the annoyed phase and into the anger phase of no deal being done yet. Swayman is our future in goal and Sweeney screwed it up with not signing him before trading Ullmark. Just pay the man 8x8

I dunno. The Bruins have about 8mil in cap sapce, offer him 8 for 8. If he says no then he's basically just saying no to them in general? Like I know there's more to contracts and more ways to spend money creatively etc but they need a goalie and I dunno, is he good or not? It FEELS like it should be a very simple situation of they either have enough to sign him or he wants more than they can afford. If it's the latter then imo we should lay off the Bruins management who could be pretty reasonably frustrated, though yeah they certainly shouldn't have traded away their other option AND it seems like a lack of foresight if they didn't know that Swaman was gonna ask for that much...
who knows what the holdup with Swayman is... and no you probably would not want to mediate.. simply because you'd probably want to punch the agent in the mouth.

I always think of loving the winning when I think of Martin St Louis..so a good season on tap for Habs would be consistent with that. ✅

I saw the Highlights of the Canucks and Kraken game. Silovs made about 5 or 6 big saves. His biggest save had to be at the end of the 3rd when the Kraken pulled their goalie. Lekkerimaki has been amazing since the young stars classic when he had that break away after falling on one knee and almost scored was awesome.
How much different can it be from taking care of the cats..?

@@rammy3550 we always seem to shed goalies I would love to give a longer chance at the tank and bring in pre-injured ones. i have been on this rollercoaster since 91 there is no hope of getting off now. one of my sons is a Ducks fan (geez you try and raise em right and then THAT happens!) i thought he said once he liked Gibson.

If special teams are an indication of how good they are - they might overachieve this yr.

- a completely different lineup for PP #2, which is solid.

PK units might need some work, I wonder if they can opt for 3 Dmen & 1 quick forward on the penalty kill

@@cameronmccormick89 yea but that is what preseason is all about. My devils went 7-0 in preseason last year. Needless to say everyone knows how that worked out. So I don’t care if we lose them all. If we don’t have any injuries and lose them all it’s still a win in my book. Best to Montreal this season.

@@olgak57 I think a lot of it is also term, if he wants 8 years and they offer 3, even if the cap hit is what he wants, I doubt he's interested. Probably wants that stability.

He would still be a RFA next year I think. Swayman doesn't turn 27 until the end of November 2025 so I don't think he can become a UFA until the off-season 2026.
