Hey man, love the content. I’m really new to fighting games and these look a little complex for me. Is there some tips or combos for inexperienced Ky players?
Absolutely. First off the the Roman cancel are giving you troubles. Make sure you have a button set to it in button settings. If its less about the roman cancels and more about the special moves inputs go to mission mode and listed at the bottom of the 3 and 4 star levels you will some very easy to execute combos. Lastly on Mon, Wed, Fri I stream on twitch and would be happy to answer any questions you have in person.
I'm too a beginner (first fighting game excepted Smash) and I suggest to go to the missions and try to complete every combo missions (the last of each chapter, at least the roman cancel one and the wall break) each time you launch the game, it gonna be tough at the beginning but it helped me a lot for fights and finding new combos
If you're struggling with combos, don't be afraid to end strings with stun edge whether you hit or not. Even on block, midscreen, it should be ok. If you're in the corner, try to end in dire eclat. Also try to understand how are moves flowing, the gatling system.

Sweet vid! I was looking for a more optimal Dust combo and I actually didn’t realize Ky could still jump cancel from his 2H that’s good to know. Thanks for the tech!
@@professorlapis8305 Finally got a chance to get to it. to be clear the 2h is not a jump cancelable move but counter hit allows you to jump and make the combo happen. Thew height you hit them at matters a lot.
this just popped up in my feed. Im a ky main for now, learning him. This video is super accrate. The 2 CH's i get most are 2H(anti air) and 214k. I had no idea how to really convert. Also an RC combo for a wake up DP in the corner with a side switch is super helpfull. IDK if this is usefull for pros, but if you're learning ky you WILL hit a point where you NEED these combos. I could not have hit rank 10 without them. (was hardstuck R9)
I think I found a more consistent reversal DP Side Switch combo. 623HS, DRCD, Run Under, (slight delay for both hits of 2H), 2HS, 214K, 2HS, 214S, 623HS. It does 186 on normal hit, 192 on counter hit.
If I'm not mistaken, going for c.S > 2HS right after the run under, and ending with 6H > 214S gets you a more consistent and more damaging version of this (191 on normal hit, 197 on counter hit on Ky). Maybe my timing was a bit off, but I didn't get wallbreak everytime with your version. Anyway thx for the advice, I spent some time labing around it, and I really needed to implement sideswitch combos to my kit ;)
Oh ! And you can end with 623H instead of 214S, then break the wall with 214S. This is a bit tougher to get consistently but will give you 1 more damage and let you apply Shock State for oki.
They're pretty high up when it hits. couple that with add stun from the counter hit. and you have enough time to recover from 2H and just jump normally. Im not jump cancelling at all.
I'd also try to learn to hitconfirm your common pokes into Ride the Lightning, which wallbreaks from roughly midscreen just on its own or goes corner to corner if you're farther back. Wallbreak gives you Positive Bonus, Positive Bonus gives you your meter back, then you do it to em again and they're dead.
Inputting down down twice before you roman cancel will move your character during the roman cancel. We call this roman cancel drift and works going up down left or right. This is how I get to the floor quickly. The mechanic is gone over in mission mode as well
In the first Combo Ino is Sliding into Ky is all. Your sprint will accomplish the same effect. The Close Slash just has to be real close is all. Theres bunch of different ways to get the effect and you can slightly alter the route to fit the situation.
I need a guide about how to counter him, playing vs him as Potemkin is a pain, you can't punish anything if he makes the foudre arc (the overhead kick) and dire eclair (the slash that pushes you back and can only be countered if you are ram or instant block it) It's funny cause i can block on reaction Leo's overhead attack while he is on back stance (that is 18 frames) yet i can't block Ky's 27 frame overhead, i guess it's cause Leo's animation in that attack is much more clear.
trying to do the last combo , i fail when i have to do the last standing HS , is there a perfect timing to do ? also i feel like i'm getting closer to the wall much faster compare to the video , so i don't know if it impacts the whole process

Depends on the spacing when it makes contact. I've seen it go into his overdrive ride the lightnig and. Foudre arc if the angle is right. If all else fails dire esclat or slash stun edge should work consistently. Tried not to use the notation so sorry if I spell is moves incorrectly.
In the first clip my close slash is a counter hit which makes damages the wall health more than a normal slash would Try turning on forced counter hit in training settings and start the combo from the position on screen.

If your talking about the charges dust route. During that sequence there are no gatling restrictions. The only thing you can't do is press the same button twice. That will cause the finishing blow
For the first combo, how do you get the wall splat? I’m doing the same exact thing and she hits the wall the same amount of times but I don’t get the splat
Make sure it starts on the right hand side of the stage. The initial Close Slash is also Counter hit. Make sure both of these happen and you should be fine. 👍
@@Ne-Vii the walls health isn't shown but it only goes down once you pass the middle of stage andbits safebto assume the same counter hits do more damage they also do more wall damage.
After you hit the charged dust you hold up. After that the trick is to realize you can go heavy slash into slash which is breaking normal galling rules. Then the rest is just following what I do in the video. Combo notation in description. 👍
Imo, don't dragon install, at least for now. Right after breaking that wall, you get near to 0 tension from the positive bonus, and you can get more damage by just doing rtl. Either I'm dumb, or I just don't see any benefit from di as it is implemented right now. My personal thoughts, you can do whatever you please :)
It increases SE and SD damage quite a lot and their chip percentage as well. It makes Vapor Thrust less damaging but more comboable, for example I messed in training for a bit and made up this meterless corner wall break combo: c.S 6H VT 5K VT 5K 6H

And after that you realize KY is actual badass who can rival and beat sol badguy, even sol badguy realize KY actually holding back and hide his inner monster when fighting sol

After a counter 2HS while the enemy is jumping you can go for another 2HS , 214K and 236HS for mix ups

when i do the dragon install combo, the last HS doesnt connect and i dont know why
If all else fails replace the last HS with Close SLash and you should get more consistency.

Roman cancel after the dp on third combo land me to the air. How do u stay on the floor after doing a dp and the roman cancel?

Dragon install doesn't give you meter on wall break so you should just do another super

The timing for last HS is very particular. I'd replace it with 2HS or Close slash since you say your getting closer for consistency purposes.

In training settings this called combo recipe l. Turn it on and you will get same effect.

DI is for swagging on the opponent and style points, RTL is for having a chance at winning l o l
You do it just to perform the deepest possible dab on your opponent. That's it. That's why you use it.
