I’ve just got halfway through the first episode. I’m already baffled by the amount of times he’s been exposed to sunlight without so much as a “bright lights, bright lights”. Surely it should kill him? And why is he called Gizmo? Surely it was Billy’s father that gave him that name? I can’t bear to watch any more of it.

I think the point is to sell it to kids and general audiences that are familiar with the previous films. I agree it breaks canon
