  • Siren starts at 1:18.
For the first Saturday test I met up with American Siren Productions and Midwest Trains and Sirens for the MOD at the high school in the western part of town. This Modulator was actually the only siren left unrecorded, and when tested it runs about 2 minutes of alert and one minute of attack/wail.
So 11:00am comes and nothing happened, so after about 5 minutes of waiting, a phone call was made to the EMA and at about 11:10am after a Fedex truck drives by, tones came through and the sirens went off.
So I actually bought a new camera to replace my broken SX540 HS and I had it filming here but it unfortunately shut itself down during the wait before the siren went off. I decided to film with my phone and I’m glad I did.
So while the Modulator was going off I was trying to decide if I wanted to go underneath it. I was literally thinking: “Should I go underneath it? Nah, stay here.” “Should I? Nope stay with the camera.” Should I? Screw it, I’m going!” I went ahead and hurried over to it and almost lost it jumping over the curb.
After we were done in Boonville we were going to book it to Alma for the noon blast but since we weren’t going to make it in time we chose something closer and went to Prairie Home for the Sentry 7V8-B.
Sirens in Cooper County are tested on the first Saturday of each month at 11:00am weather pending.
    As always, thanks for watching!
