I flew on Etihad Airways new A350-1000 inaugural flight from Abu Dhabi to Paris on 31 March 2022. The Etihad A350-1000 has 44 Business Class suites and 327 economy class seats. A total of 5 A350-1000 will be entering service with Etihad this year.
There are the usual celebrations at the gate before takeoff, aviation enthusiasts and media were busy taking photos and videos of the new plane. The pilot gave the flight briefing and showed the latest touch screen technology on the A350-1000 cockpit display. Enjoy the views from the cockpit during takeoff.
After takeoff, I explored the Economy Class cabin. The first 5 rows in Economy have extra space as Economy Space. There are tablet holders and a bluetooth enabled headset connection. I checked out all the seat functions in the new Etihad Business Class suite. It has a sliding door to enhance privacy.
During the flight, I interviewed Etihad Aviation Group CEO Tony Douglas about the A350 operation and the future of the Etihad A380. The new Etihad A350-1000 will be deployed to Mumbai, Delhi, Jeddah, Cairo and Istanbul before entering long haul service to New York and Chicago in July.
I give my verdict and recommendation on the Etihad A350 at the end of the video.

The A350 has become one of my favorite aircraft over the last couple of years and I’m very happy to see that Etihad has also added this beauty to its fleet. Pity they don’t intend to fly it to Europe, but understandable. 36.000ft cruising altitude seems rather low for the A350 by the way, often see them at or above 40.000ft. Anyway, thanks for another great trip report Sam!👍🏻

I met one of Etihad’s fight attendants in Thailand as she was on her layover and we were speaking about Sam because I follow this page and watch all sams videos, unfortunately she’s told me that Sam can be rude to the flight attendants and they get really uncomfortable with that. Sam I love your videos my friend but please keep the respect levels to all flight attendants equally, other than that keep doing you, very proud.

I really enjoyed this video. As an A350 lover, the A350-1000 *(aka A35K)* is my favorite A350 model, it has almost the same length as the 777-300ER (B77W/B773), and it is also fuel-efficient like the Triple 7 too!! 😇

The A350-1000 Is just as long as the B777-300ER ( both are 74m long ) And it Is far more efficient.

One of the more attractive liveries in the skies today.
The Super Diamond seats are, in my opinion, the most practical and comfortable business class seats. I'm happy to see Etihad got rid of the business class seats they had. I only flew one flight with Etihad (Abu Dahabi to Zurich) on a 787 and HATED the seat so much that I've never booked a flight with Etihad since.

@@franklinloo2160 The Super Diamond seat Etihad is switching to now, is very good. It can be found on many other airlines. The former seat looked pretty, but was very impractical and uncomfortable. I flew on an Etihad 787-9 from Abu Dhabi to Zurich in 2019 on an overnight flight. The seat had no leg rest, only a recline feature. So, the only two options were to either be fully flat (for which the seat was very narrow in the foot well) or to sit upright. It was the worst "sleep" I have ever gotten on a plane. I like to have my feet up a bit and be slightly reclined while watching TV, and I like to sleep on aircraft in a zero G position. The best sleep I ever got on a plane was in an Air Canada Super Diamond seat, also on a 787-9, from Toronto to Dubai. I slept all the way from Newfoundland to Bulgaria.

The A350 is one beautiful aircraft!
Sam, I know you wanted that galley to be smaller than the 787. I did too. lol. But, unfortunately, there is little good news for Boing in this video. The A350-1000 holds 372 people at 9 across in economy, and from the video, even those seats look really comfortable. Boing 777x will hold more, but at 10 across, so it seems. Will not be fun. Of course, between now and the time Boing 777x gets flying commercial, if ever, things will change. What hasn't changed is that airlines are buying more A350s than 777x.

Erm No, they have the A350 as they troed to CANCEL their entire order a few years ago and were stuck with five A350's. They didnt 'choose them' as such, but were stuck with them as they really wanted just 787's

I’m still yet to travel on an a350 but the etihad livery looks beautiful on the a350 and I had the chance to fly on etihads a380 in the past which was one if not the best experience I’ve ever had and I except nothing less from etihads a350 great video

my favorite is 747-8 and it is big and strong same as same And the business class from Etihad A350-1000 is like nearly close to British Airways A350-1000 club suite and also 777-300er and 787-10 as well
to be fair my friend from Prague Czech he loved Aviation and even I do,To my story shared with sam Hanoi And Ho Chi Minh in vietnam where i started My Aviation when i have a first flight vietnam airlines with boeing 777-200er when i was a youngster and has been retired so sad and i liked to say to thank you to SAM who shared with us loved you sam

excellent flight I flew on this last week to London
The business class layout is quite quirky... i'd still use that though :). As for the economy class, it's fantastic for travelling cheaply but in some style and comfort 👌🏻

I trust the A350 is a Great product as the cabin width is just nice for a 9 abreast sitting comfort. The 787 is a tight squeeze for 9 abreast but 8 would be better. As for 777X, 10 abreast is a squeeze, 9 would be losing money for the airline. Therefore A350 is a winner.
