Looks very fancy, but it is so easy. Thank you Jayda. I have learned a lot from you over the years. Thank you also Mr Institches for all the hard work you do for the channel.
Hi Susan! Start with a small sampler and work your way up 💗 Working small is quicker, leaves less room for errors and helps to make us feel more confident!
I saw it a few years ago and wanted to try it. My sister-in-law sent me a huge set of these hooks as a Christmas gift last year, knowing I love to crochet, as she sent me regular hooks and yarns years prior. I was so happy. Then Jayda started posting these tutorials this year and it was perfect timing! I love them and Jayda does a fantastic job at teaching how to do it.
This stitch is very beautiful and I am thinking I would like a whole blanket from this stitch, but that will be next year to go along with whatever wonderful Idea you come up with for next year. I truly enjoy watching you. You are so upbeat and you clarify everything so well. Thank you for another great tutorial and have a great week.
Thank you once more my dear Jayda! You are a wonderful teacher! As if you are in our mind. Anticipating the mistake and making sure that we won’t make it! Lot’s of thanks to mr Stiches, too! You are both a beautiful team! And we love 💕 you!😊!
You look *ADORABLE*!!!! WOW! I can see making a bunch of these and joining them into a beautiful blanket! I see it in all pastels. And if you marled the yarn... *chefs kiss!!!!!!!! "Done" 🤣🤣
@@JaydaInStitches Yes. I started it and zipped right through! Some of the others I kept putting down after a few rows and going back to another project. This one I wanted to keep going! I can't wait to lay them all out together to see which month's square was my favorite to look at vs. favorite to make. Not sure if they are one in the same! 😊
I sat at my laptop, eagerly awaiting the new square...... yesterday.... then I realised it was only Thursday ! (face-palm) . This stitch looks great - it reminds me of the X and O stitch from the Victorian sampler blanket. Can't wait to get started now.
I am officially caught up!! Finished the November square today!! Whoot! Whoot! Hard to pick a favourite, I’m really enjoy this project! Looking forward to the December square and joining them! Thank you Jayda, you are a great teacher! 😊
My favorite and fastest row is the one you yarn over and go through 2 loops because it's like doing 2 stitches at once. I believe those are the even numbered rows. =)
Hi Jayda! I love this stitch, I am so excited to get working on it. The October square went so fast that it seemed like November we never going to get here. This project for me is a work of patience as I am so excited to get to the end to see how all the squares look together. But on the flip side, it helps me deal with boredom when I am making larger items sooooo it's a win win. Have a wonder rest of your day.
This stitch looks very pretty! I started making the cowl scarf with the scarfie yarn. It’s so soft! I will start this now since the cowl is for a Christmas gift! Thank you once again
Looking forward to doing this square jayda it looks so pretty , also I’m half way through crocheting the hat you are wearing hope mine looks as cute as yours 😊Amanda xx💖💕
My beautiful mom was admitted to the hospital mid October. She passed away Nov 4th. 😢 we have had the services now. And I'm now working on my November square. She had some of my crochet and knitted work at home. We celebrated her 90th in March of this year 2022. She loved all three Afghans I have made for her, this one Tunisian 2022 was going to be her Christmas present. I now have to finish this blanket with tears but my dad still lives he is 91. This will be his Christmas present. He is very sad and I hope this blanket will bring hom some comfort since it was intentionally for her. I hope it doesn't make him sadder. I'm needing a little advice from my crocheting friends.😥
Mary, we are so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. That does make finishing this year's blanket bittersweet. I have a feeling your father would appreciate both the blanket and all the love that has gone into making it 💗
This months square is SO pretty and looks really easy 🤓=❤️. Anxious to find my Tunisian hook (that I'm sure has a partially finished square on it🤦)& get going on this one 😍😁. Thanks again 😃
It’s important to avoid an extra yarn over before the last stitch! I was all the way done row three and didn’t have the right stitch count! Had to go back to row two (row 1 of the 2-row pattern) and COUNT! There was an extra yarn over!!! OOOOPSIE!!! 😜 😂 Got it, though, and am happy with the pattern. Thanks, Ms. Jayda! ❤️
I think the second of the row of pattern in this video is actually "1 simple, 1 knit", because the big space is created by the yarn over from previous row, and the space the hook went in looks like it's between the front and back bars of that stitch, hence a knit stitch. I think on a different channel, this pattern is called "the arrow head stitch"
Hi! The hook goes between stitches vs between the front and back bars (Tunisian Full vs Tunisian Knit) then is followed by a Simple Stitch. A Knit stitch would pull up what looks like a knit stitch (or upside down horseshoe) and the Full stitch creates a longer stitch (without the horseshoe look). 😊
Thanks for replying. I think the different terms were used in the other video I watched because she treated the space created by yarn over as a stitch, so it’s insert hook between front and back bars, just the bars don’t look the same as normal stitches. I guess people call the same stitch different names all the time. It’s just that I just made one square of Arrowhead stitch and I thought this would be different, but it turned out the same as my existing square. Appreciated the discussion, thanks!
😂I think I created my own pattern . I had to come back to see how to work this again. I will have to come back and rework my pattern again later. The triple crochet was throwing me for a loop. Looked good but not what we were going for now was it? 😮
Hi Jayda ! thank you for this tutorial it was very helpful! Could this stitch be done with more than 38 stitches ? I’m trying to envision it if we wanted to make something longer than the tunisian hook can it be done?
Hi Sandy, yes! I think we mention the foundation chain formula at the beginning of the foundation chain part of the square (just after the sample size bit). Basically any even number 😁
I'm doing the individual squares for this project so they all lay flat, size relatively the same and store nicely until they're stitched together. Then, once the blanket is all put together, I'm going to block the whole thing again 😊
What a wonderful pattern! ❤🔥 And so easy rows to follow. I'm so happy that it's a fast square to make. I'm only half-way through the previous square. Will the border for the whole blanket be released early in December?
Hi Laura, Tunisian or Afghan hooks (and cro-hooks, the double ended hook type that I'm using) can be found in most places that sell crochet hooks (online too).
Hi Jeanne, I'm using a cro-hook because it's the right side for this project and you can use either a traditional Afghan hook or a cro-hook like me 😊 Cro-hooks allow you to use yarn off both ends and also work across long stretches or in circles.
Hi Dana, I'm using the steam block technique: ruclips.net/video/HUlrCf9IDFI/видео.html but you could also use Wash and Block: ruclips.net/video/lZuIiDHdpT8/видео.html
This block restored confidence in my abilty to crochet (without pulling out the rest of my hair!! ;) Thank you!! (no knits or purls!)
Hi Robin, that's GREAT! (also, very nice for your hair too 😊)

Thank you so much Win! 😊
I find that the simple/full row is the fastest. I really like this square. Thanks for sharing!!! Have a great day!!!❤❤❤
Hi Traci, me too!
So pretty - you do a wonderful job teaching this stitch. Now all I need is confidence in doing it.
Oh, yes! You are so right! Me, too!

It was an easy pattern. Only one more for this year. Hope you give us a supply list in December for next year's calendar blanket.

Lol, since we didn't use any treble or triple crochet in this pattern, I'm guessing you're must be very interesting indeed 😁
Hi Jayda. I’m loving this square but mine is leaning to the right. Am i doing something wrong? I’m hoping I can straighten it up with blocking.
Hi Sue, nope, it leans, mine does too (check out the end of my row 32!) Blocking fixes it 😊
Hi Jayda ! thank you for this tutorial it was very helpful!
Is it best to block the blanket when it's all done or block the individual pieces?
I'm doing the individual squares for this project so they all lay flat, size relatively the same and store nicely until they're stitched together. Then, once the blanket is all put together, I'm going to block the whole thing again 😊
@@JaydaInStitches Thank you. Will there be a video on blocking or have you done one already?

What a wonderful pattern! ❤🔥 And so easy rows to follow. I'm so happy that it's a fast square to make. I'm only half-way through the previous square. Will the border for the whole blanket be released early in December?
Hi Jane! We're going to speed up the end of the blanket as best we can 💗
Ooooh. Mine isn’t lacy. I guess that’s tight tension.
Hi Shannon! You might want to try a larger hook size for this one if you're feeling a little tight, that should help 💗
Where do you get the long hook?
Hi Laura, Tunisian or Afghan hooks (and cro-hooks, the double ended hook type that I'm using) can be found in most places that sell crochet hooks (online too).
I have not seen a Tunisian hook like that the ones I have look like a knitting needle with a hook at the pointy end
Why is there a hook at both ends
Hi Jeanne, I'm using a cro-hook because it's the right side for this project and you can use either a traditional Afghan hook or a cro-hook like me 😊 Cro-hooks allow you to use yarn off both ends and also work across long stretches or in circles.
