I'd like to join, but with a smaller blanket at the end. I did that with last years calender blanket too. Mine got the size of a tablerunner/pet blanket.
Is there a specific amount of stitches I need for this one? Can I do half of the stitches? And how many rows do I have to do then?

Rather than making a blanket, I’d like to make a “stitch sample” scarf/wrap.
I’m wondering what the stitch count should be… 🤔 (Greetings from Morro Bay, California.)

I have put down my crocheting for 5 years to raise a child that needs undivided attention and work a full time job! Now I’ve retired from work and my child isn’t so demanding of my time for he has discovered friends exist outside of just mom and dad!
So i went to you tube to learn to make “something” to crotchet. I found the mile a minute 2021 calendar afghan by this Jayda lady! It looked like alot of fun to learn so many stitches!
So i watched the tutorials by this Jayda lady and was completely wowed by what a great teacher she is!
So i had to see some more of her tutorials and was completely hooked on Jayda!
Jayda you are a spectacular teacher! So wonderful with the camera use, so that i can see your work very close and you speak very clearly with only enough repeatidness so that i can understand the point of the stitch.
Really Jayda your the Greatest teacher. I’m hooked on you!
Thank you so much for your time and attention to teach me and others.
You are very appreciated by me!

Using an online company, I made a crocheted Sampler Afghan last year using a monthly kit program. I really enjoyed that and love the afghan. During last year I ordered another afghan kit from the same company, this time I received 10 skeins of yarn (each a different color) all at the same time. However, the separately ordered pattern for the Tunisian Sampler never arrived. When I saw your 2022 Totally Tunisian Calendar Blanket I began immediately. I have so much yarn on these huge skeins that I have made 4 blocks for January. Each in a different color. I plan to do the same for each month. Hopefully I will have completed 4 different blankets by the end of the year. I am also hoping to learn the stitches well enough for my old brain to remember them, too!
Thank you for all the wonderful videos and patterns you provide. You are an excellent teacher and designer. Such a talented young woman. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, Peggy

I watched this video about 2 weeks ago and was determined to have a try at Tunisian crochet. A friend of mine does it and I was very impressed. I sent for long Tunisian crochet hooks from Amazon (a whole set and very reasonable price) They came yesterday and I put on this video again and started. I am thrilled with the result. I love to try new skills and apart from wanting to tuck the long hook under my arm ( my Grandma taught me to knit and always had the right hand needle under her arm, so I knit this way too) I got on well. I have developed carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands and this I have found is easier on my hands than knitting. I am trying to keep my hands supple and working. So thanks for the inspiration and the super clear instructions. Best wishes from the Lancashire in the North west of England.

Have some questions. I have an afghan hook but a different size so am going to give this a try with different dimensions. I plan to measure the starting chain, then add rows until roughly a square. Will that work as long as I start with the same number of chains and same number of rows usong the same weight yarn and same hook in each month's block? Or should I wait to order your size hook and go directly by your pattern? I'm really excited about learning different Tunisian stitches. I've done the simple stitch before but it was a long time ago and from your directions, I'm not sure I was doing it right! That was before RUclips so a really long time ago! Love your channel, and you and Mr. Institches' live videos as well as your great tutorials. I am always anxious for the next one. 💝

I have never done much Tunisian crochet - bits and snippets, but this looks like it will be so much fun! I found an old blanket crochet hook that I had from the 80's! Here we go! 💜

I've only dabbled in Tunisian, so this calendar blanket will get me more proficient. Your photography is so excellent, showing exactly where to put the hook, which I find hard with some Tunisian stitches. My first square could only be stretched to 11 inches but I'll just make them all that size.

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  2 года назад +1

Thank you so much Jolene 💗 Yes, 11 inches is just fine - consistency is the important part, we can always add more border rows to the blanket!

I absolutely love you Jayda and your videos! My mom as crochet for the longest, but she didn’t know how to teach me and she only knew the granny stitch. So, I set out to search RUclips and I found your page back in 2016. You have taught me to crochet. Your videos are so easy to follow and understand. Now my mom and I have a a beautiful thing in common and crochet together and share yarn and I even teach her what i learn from you. And when people ask me how I learn I recommend your page. So THANK YOU so much! Just wanted you to know what you do is more than just teaching a beautiful craft!

Thank you Jayda. As ever, your tutorials are really easy to follow. It's fun to learn a new style of crochet. I found the curling up irritating so while I was working on the square, I put a few quilt clips along the bottom row to keep the "burrito" out of the way as a temporary measure (it seems to work). After finishing the 2021 CAL, I started the Folk Art Calendar Blanket but just had to try the Tunisian crochet as soon as I saw it. I now have two crochet WIPs to add to my sewing WIPs!!

Jada, I am doing the Knit Stitch with a heavier yarn, for the fun of it. I went back to the size 4 yarn, which Now is so much easier to crochet, and I have learned to keep my tension much looser. I am already using a larger hook but was still too tight with my tension. By Jove! I think I've got it! You are a marvelous teacher, but experience is the best! Thank you for the tutorials that I constantly go back to! I made my own little pattern cards, but seeing you make them is tons better than my own written patterns. Hoorah for you!
