A lot of this was really fanfic like, but I love the idea of light becoming the ruler of hell. His whole thing was disposing of criminals. A life where he punishes them for eternity seems fitting.
To me, Death Note should have ended after L died. There is an OVA with Light @ L’s funeral. In the end, it shows how the world continued between his death and the appearance of Near. If we just pretended Near and Mello never existed, that, my friends, would be what Light’s victory would look like.

ok i personally think light would never kill people just because they are lazy, thats completely out of his character and ideals. He only kills criminals and aims at the people who done really bad crimes first, such as rapists, drug dealers, etc, and that "Near is L's brother" kinda just came randomly which doesn't make sense, and Near can't be on par with L. He's inferior to L by a considerable amount. The "Improved Death Note" also just came out randomly since Ryuk said he will never, in no way actually help Light and is a spectator. Light becoming immortal is also kinda just strange, it's not possible for him to become immortal as a human but if he died, became a shinigami, and came back to earth it would make sense. Light also can not really "recruit shinigamis" since they are in hell, he doesn't really have any contact with hell and all shinigamis are bound by a vow and a law: That they will disintegrate when they help a human directly, so Light can't really recruit shinigamis. The Shinigami king is the one who set the law in the shinigamis in the first place that they can not collaborate with a human, so he can pretty much disintegrate every single shinigami if he wanted to, unless Light finds a way to remove this from the shinigamis kinda like how Nezuko was removed from Muzan's curse. There are a lot of plot holes but yea this is a nice video.
It took near the help of Mellow to find out Light was Kira confirmed (L knew but didn't confirm) and this ia directly stated so we are flat out sold that Near + Mellow = L so how would Near= L but at the same time Light could basically become immortal,if he somehow finessed a shinigami (let's just say it was one that came to the human world) and he made it so they would definitely protect him if he got hurt he could easily get them to write names for him adding to there life span then he could fake a situation where he looks like he might die and when the shinigami in question tries to save him he kills the person who fakes trying to kill him (who would probably be a criminal in disguise) Light would then get all of the shinigamis added up life but still that would be too complex and hard

I could actually see this happening after episode 25. I see this being over the course of another 50 to 70 episodes in the course of 5 to 10 years in universe instead of thousands of years. It would have really "animified" the story by you know: a fairly grounded story with our characters being regular human level, to an insane story where our characters become literal gods (not figuratively, but LITERAL GODS). I like this mostly because it finds a way to bring L back and have their conflict at the center again. It would also conclude with a pretty neutral ending with both sides not really winning or loosing. Although, these sequence of events would have to be accompanied with good writing (and i mean REALLY GOOD WRITING), since if the writing is "ok" or even kinda good, then there would be such a devisive fandom for it, with one side liking the batshit craziness, but not as much as the first 25 or 36 episodes, and the other side straight up hating these next 50 to 70 or so episodes. I personally think would have made a better continuation than what we got in my opinion. More episodes, actually getting to see how light's "New World" would have been like, L comes back, more light and L conflict, the Shinigami would have actually been more involved, overall expansion on the Death Note Universe, story ends with Light and L, and just overall more epic and grand in a story about devil like creatures dropping books of death into the human world.
Plot twist - in the original death note Light Yagami never dies. What happened was all in Light's mind. It was all light's analysis of what could happen when he goes to meet Near and he changes his plans accordingly (in season 2) 😉😉

( aslong he kill those people with great minds that has opposite ideals of him)
Tbh they can still continue the Death Note taking some of the stuff from this video or just make an entire different alternate series but continuing it with this story won't be bad either like Light becomes a God of Death after dying and he plans to kill and take over the king's place
