Hotels be charging 500 a night and not paying their staff fairly is the problem, this tipping culture in America is a joke. 🤦🏻♀️
Absolutely agree. Employers depend on customers tip to pay their employees, while they make bank
Yas! This!
Couldn’t agree more with you!!! No other country’s have this bizarre tipping culture we do. As someone who worked for tips while making $3.59 an hour in 2020….it’s such a dysfunctional lifestyle! And one slow day can ruin ur whole month. I hated it.
Just like everything else in life tipping favors the beautiful people and screws us ugos.
That's why we're usually in the back.
😂😂we don't tip until upper middle class chill bro
Seems like this Women takes pride in her work. It’s definitely not an easy job. Thanks for sharing your story
I was thinking the same thing, she sounds like an amazing housekeeper!! Really hope she gets a raise
I did. Sounds weird. But there was a group of military staying in our hotel. Super athletic and had beards and all. I remember I knew the guy at the bar was the room I cleaned. He had so much stuff in his room, all his military gear. He was kinda dirty and all, not in a laziness way but he was little sleep back and forth from his training. I told the other cleaner that I really want to organize his stuff. I cleaned everything as normal. But I organized his change, his cups, his different bags of gear in different areas. He had gaming system so I organized the wires. I even folded his clothes that I assumed were dirty. And I left a note. My uncle owned the hotel. And I even told my cousin, I am leaving note so if I’m fired for it thats fine. But I’m leaving note. My cousin said I say nothing. He has been very generous at bar and nice I see. When I saw cory after shift at bar I smiled and said hey from bar. I saw I like same drink as you. Gin and tonic. He knew. He said, I never knew someone would organize my coin change😂 we have been married 8 years now. He was handsome, had a journal, and bible with book mark. But also surrounded with alcohol. I just felt like the scene he left was what I felt and it was very intriguing to me. He had stayed in the hotel for 3 weeks before he had to live on the base hotel since it freed up space. We kept in contact forever. He eventually was back and got an apartment in town. He asked me to stay so I tell my parents and they let me stay. And we married 3 months later. And I finished pharmacy school year later so I could help provide finally.
My husband travels for work and has pretty much lived in hotels in the last 25 yrs. When we got together and I went on a job with him I realized he didn't tip. I told him to leave 10$ that day ( he was staying there for 5 months) and after that he had the BEST house keeping. So now he leaves 5$ a day. His room is overly cleaned...lol. So yes tip your housekeeper.
If I’m staying at a hotel for 5 months I’m cleaning after myself most days like an adult.
@christinakaos1805 Oh, he does. He is one of those who cleans before the maid comes. But they wanted that 5$ a day so he had fresh sheets every night and they would even empty his dishwasher if needed.
@@MrKaceymcarter why does he need fresh sheets every single day if he’s sleeping alone 😒. Do you change this kings sheets every night at home?? Still seems unnecessary
I am a housekeeper and this is sooooo true 😄
Dang, I feel bad. I am 37, have stayed at hotels a ton of times and have never left money in the room for them. I didn't know that was a thing to do. 😮
As somebody who doesn't travel very often, I didn't realize we were supposed to leave a tip for the housekeeper.
thank you for letting me know!
Joe’s face everytime Greg said something sexual/asked weird questions has me cryingggg🤣
Don't blame him 😂
LMAOOO it happened right after i read this comment i was laughing so much
I came here for this comment. "Big, Fat Dildos" 😂😂😂
I absolutely always clean the room before leaving. Towels go into a pile, all trash is emptied in each can is Tied up and in a pile. I never leave trash. I bunch up all the blankets and sheets, and I tip. The absolute least you can do is clean up- and leave a tip. Yes I always leave a note with the tip, thanking them. It’s likely the only tip they received that day.
Yep! Me too! Restaurants and hotels. I would be so embarrassed to leave a mess for anyone.
Same!
That is so nice of you!!
I clean a rental on the Oregon coast for the last 3 months and I've gotten two tips, one was $5 the other was $20. Both totally made my day!
Yesss I always keep the room clean but I'm also OCD and respectful as I treat others the way I would like to be treated!
Me too! If I eat a meal in the room, I throw my food trash away in a big trash container, not in the room.
My first job was a housekeeper at a casino hotel. My nightmare story: part of a normal cleaning is making sure all of the drawers and closets are clean as-well. I opened the closet and see a duffel bag on the floor, thinking shitheads left their clothes when they left I tossed the bag onto the bed, and it started to move! I freaked, and called my boss and he came in to the room and opened the bag, ( thinking it could be like an animal or something) the duffel was FULL of dildos. And one had turned on.
THAT is your nightmare story?? I was expecting to read that the bag had something in it that was living or half dead… now THAT would be a nightmare lol. I ain’t never been scared of dildos😭🤣
@@naomieadair5635girl stop lmfaoooo
I work as a housekeeper at a casino hotel now and there’s some nasty mfers that stay here 😭
That’s hysterical
A demon probably turned it on. Gross.
I am EMBARRASSED! I did not know I should tip my housekeeper but it makes total sense and I pride myself in being a great tipper wow I will make up for it!
Same! I tip a MINIMUM of 20% for bad service even so I’m also shocked by this. It’s never crossed my mind
Yes a lot of ppl don’t know that which is understandable bc the hotels don’t bring it up?… lol I guess a sign would help like tips welcome thankyou 😅😂
Tip culture
Wait .. how do you not know to tip a hotel cleaner??? It's like standard to leave a tip.
Same here. I feel bad listening to what she said and have never left a tip. Just never thought about it
Everything she said is exactly what you can expect to encounter while working in a hotel. I worked as a hotel housekeeper and as a desk clerk about 15 years ago, hotel work is the craziest job I’ve ever had. I still have stories to tell, to this day.
Amen! My mom was the general manager and front desk manager at a hotel here in Alaska for almost twenty years, not only does she have the most insane stories, but so do I growing up in that industry.
Do it girl !!! I would listen if u ever do ❤
TELL ALL of US!!!!!!!!!!!
That pay is absolutely ridiculous… please pay these people more for the work they do, they deserve it.
Love how this lady keeps laughing and both Greg and joes faces don’t even smirk
She sounds like she would be an valuable employee for anyone she will work for
Greg’s comments were killing me in this episode lmao.
“How big are we talkin’?”
While hotel housekeepers do have a lot of crazy stories, at some properties the front desk can be 10x crazier. We deal with criminal activity, identity fraud, fake credit cards, drug dealers, pimps, cheating spouses, human trafficking, mental illness, drug overdoses, domestic violence situations...etc. on a nearly daily basis. Not only do we SEE it but we have to interact first-hand with the people causing all these crazy situations. Especially overnight reception. I have hours worth of crazy stories...after I leave this position I would love to submit a story to a podcast like this.
did u email them
#Facts... I could write a book about working in Guest Services in hotels.
My 3 young children, my husband and I recently stayed at an airbnb fir the first time (highly reccomend if travelling with family btw. A hotel room is very small for 5 people for any length of time.) The owners rated us 5 stars and said that we kept it very clean and took care of garbage and loved hosting us. So that was nice. Not everyone treats places they stay like garbage. I feel so bad if one of my kids like spills something or makes a big crumby mess with a snack or something at a hotel. Like aww man... there's no vacuum or anything for me to clean this up!
I was a housekeeper for an extended stay hotel and walked in on the aftermath of a suicide by gun....i quit that day
I can only imagine how traumatic that would’ve been! I’m sorry you had to see that.
Head of maintenance for a short/extended stay hotel/motel. Housekeeping called me to reset a very crooked shower curtain rod pulled it down and at least 20 used needles with what i assume was heroin residue in every needle. Then blood spatter across the walls. Condoms shoved in pillow cases. And a glock with the serial number ground off inbetween the mattress and box spring. Same day i walked into a "hot room" which was code for bedbug infestation and the walls literally came alive when i opened the curtains. 2 days later i had to open the door for local pd because a 5 year old girl was found outside without clothing during an ice storm. In my experience if the owners last name is Patel. Do not stay there and do not work there.
I tip housekeeping staff at least $5 a day that I'm there, and I never leave a mess. I'm a slob at home, but in a hotel? Man...I'd be ashamed to leave a mess.
As an ex housekeeper Asst supervisor I can contest to everything she said. And then some. The sexual harassment was crazy. And based on the amount of labor is not well compensated. And the biggest advice I can give to patrons: DO NOT! DOOO NOOOTTT take baths (sit down baths). Not all cleaners have an eye for certain things and what I would find most, checking rooms is cleaners NOT cleaning the tub drains. Ppl will poo, get in the shower and wash the residue down the drain. And when we (good cleaners) go to clean it, we're wiping poo out of the drain. So PLEASE do not Sit in the tubs. And before you ask, I worked at a very well known international hotel chain.
I always take a liquid disinfectant with me when I stay in hotels.
Hey guys thanks for doing a show like this. This specific topic is thankless job that most of us know about but never think about the details. We never think about the people involved that help make our lives better, easier and simply more enjoyable without ever noticing or showing appreciation. This is something we all do but have the power as individuals to change. Shows like this help show the humanity in this world when so much of us go through it so blindly. Thank you.
I was a housekeeper briefly in college. One of the elderly housekeepers came out of a room holding a strange object that she was confused about. I had to be the one to tell her that what she was holding in her hands were anal beads that had been in someone’s ass. She was horrified. 😂 Also, more people should tip housekeepers! Especially if they trash the place.
yikes 😬
Omg 😂 I don't tip cheap hotels because I'm poor asf but I ALWAYS make sure to leave it as clean and tidy as possible because I have been a house cleaner before and I really don't know how ya'll are hotel cleaners.
Or maybe not trash the place. Usually if a place is trashed the hotel charges a cleaning fee
@@1991LMR so when you stay in an expensive hotel you tip? But you're poor as hell? Is an extra $10 really going to break your bank if you're already staying in a hotel?
@southphillylilly If I can tip, I will. My point is that I'm respectful of their time and work by not making their job harder and fixing up the room, not leaving it dirty etc
I was a janitor at my high school over the summer and we did deep cleaning jobs in prep for the new school year. I had to scrape boogers off of one of my high school teachers desk…🤢🤮 he would literally pick his nose and smear it under his desk…🤢🤮 much respect to anyone who has a cleaning job!
I’m overnight crew at a gym. The toilet in the free weights section is always destroyed cause of everyone having preworkout shits.
Women’s showers are always grosser than the men’s
@@La_br00tal_mija 🤢🤮 that’s nasty! lol I feel for you!
I’ve been a school janitor for 7 years. And most of the time, the staff are worse then the kids. Bleck!
I do have a lot of respect for people who work in the hospitality industry. In particular, working cleaning hotel rooms is an insanely gruelling job, as you have to make sure each one is up to standard in a very limited time, and you have dozens of them to do a day. At the same time, though, I feel sorry for the elderly couple who left that very personal item by mistake in the room. Obviously they would have been embarrassed enough, and I don't think there's a need to make fun of them on the internet about it and their age. Just because people are more advanced in aged doesn't mean they don't want to enjoy a healthy sex life, and they obviously weren't doing anything wrong.
I always tidy my room, clear cosmetics off the vanity area, strip the beds, leave used towels in the bath/shower and tie up the rubbish bag to make the job easier. I also take envelopes to leave a tip clearly marked for the housekeeper. It’s common courtesy and presumed everyone did that.
I always clean up behind myself before leaving a hotel room. I even wash out my makeup stains on the towels with soap/water and put them in a pile. These jobs are not easy as people think man. Why make things harder? Even at restaurants. I work as a hostess and yes, we’re aware that it’s our job to clean, but we highly appreciate when customers stack up their plates. ❤️
That's really interesting to hear. I'm a housekeeper in what we call camps in Canada but it's basically a less fancy hotel only for people who work in the oil field or the mines. Things like that. It's insane the kinds of things you see even in an environment where not just ANYBODY can stay there. And they typically stay for extended periods of time. So many horror stories and so many absolutely hilarious stories 😂
Please share
Spill the stories, please!!!
I worked hotel maintenance for 5 years. There was a room with an elderly couple and the man died from a diabetic coma. He was dead in thst bed for 2-3 days because his poor wife had dementia and kept telling house keeping "Bill is asleep." They never changed that matress out.. well not until we had a holiday Christmas party that work provided free rooms to employees for one night and I got stuck with that room. I told them no there's a bad smell from in there..
Joe losing it when Greg started asking about the dildos 🤣💀
Honestly never thought about or even heard of tipping housekeeping. Going forward I will do this differently.
i never thought about tipping the housekeepers- i for sure will from now on
I cleaned at the hyatt in Manhattan for 1 day and they told me if the bed sheets dont look wrinkled, dont change them. The MANAGER didnt use gloves to clean toilets, sinks and the rest of the room. I caught one girl wipe the counter, then with the same cloth, wipe a glass clean. So you can tell why that job lasted a day. Also the top bedding never gets washed unless theirs a stain
I was working at reception in a 5 * hotel in London, and the housekeping manager told me one day that her girls had to clean about 10 /13 rooms per shift so they saved time by using the same sponge to clean the glasses and the WC and the blanket it's not washed after each customer except if it's dirty. How disgusting ! Regarding tips for the maids, i always leave an enveloppe in the room with a thank you note.
I was serving breakfast at the hotel I used to work at and this guy (mid 20’s) in a hawain shirt was talking to me over the coffee bar trying to get to know me and ask what Imm doing later. Well, I was the administrator and said “payroll, enjoy your breakfast.”
At my hotel we also were not allowed to accept tips. We had recurring guests that knew this and would hide tips in pillow cases and between plates at breakfast
I have always since my early 20s tipped housekeeping in hotels, always. 10 to 15 dollars a day. I'm now 51. I know it's very hard work, and my mom worked as a housekeeper for 20 + years when she came to this country. I have so much respect for them.
This is why my hotel had a rule that you can't clean while the guest is present
OMG..people are wilder than animal
I'm a housekeeper too and we are not allowed to be in the rooms to clean when guests are in the room. The room has to be vacant of all guests before we can clean a stayover. But that's just my hotel.
I'm almost 30 and this episode taught me that I'm supposed to tip the house keeping...
Make a part 2 !!!
My first ever job was a family hotel in Florida on the beach. My first supervisor was an active drug user who was sneaking her husband out on bail for attempted murder into the hotel during work hours to do drugs with her in the rooms. It ended with him threatening to shoot up the hotel for being kicked out, and me getting escorted to my car after my shift. She was stealing all my tips.
My second supervisor was an active drug user and alcoholic on probation with an ankle monitor that had lost all her teeth to meth use. She stole my house keys from my cart on my shift (found in her work locker much later with GM later), would leave randomly on shifts and not come back, had anger outbursts that lead to screaming at employees, and she was stealing the tips. I ended up proving this with my dealer/user coworker who had recently gotten out of a 15 yr prison sentence for intent to sell who only helped so she could then go and steal the tips when the supervisor got fired.
I got paid 11 an hour
and I worked 10hr shifts regularly.
Still work in hotels, but at least I make $18 an hour now?
I’ve been a chambermaid in a few hotels one was a five star in Bristol England. Iv got alot of stories but one thing I will say is if you have a fabric head board don’t touch it with your head, hands anything. 100% it’s has ALOT of dried bodily fluids in it and they NEVER change them unless they’re broken.
Also I had the room of a rich glamorous woman who was staying a week. She had designer stuff everywhere. She also left a massive turd on the floor next to the toilet. Literally just left there in plain sight. So gross.
People who trash the rooms and leave no tip make me loose hope, i live paycheck to paycheck working housekeeping and most of the time the tips i get is what helps me eat when waiting for my next check, without that i have nothing.
for the most part, I was cracking up throughout the entire episode looooool
It took me three weeks to get up to speed when I started work as a chambermaid. Some women worked there specifically to lose weight. Most guests are nice, some were entitled and disgusting. The management were the worst part of it, expecting 5* cleaning in ridiculous amounts of time then having a go if you missed something. I turned round once and said ‘you either want a room ready fast or a clean room, which is it?’. Had run my a$$ off all morning on minimum wage in the heat, I wasn’t in the mood! That and always accusing us of stealing when guests has misplaced something 😡. A guy answered the door for his room service once with a full erection wearing just a small towel and grinned at me when he opened the door wide 🤮. Another lady period leaked all over the mattress but to her credit she was brave enough to tell us in person, apologised profusely and left us a large tip. I felt mortified on her behalf but respect where it’s due.
I started my own private house cleaning business after that job and much worse stories from that!
After working at a hotel housekeeper when i was younger i do a walk thru in all hotels we go to and never go barefoot and always always run hot water in the showers 1st.hahaha my had some terrible coworkers who where the worst housekeepers ever.. Thank goodness i found out everything before i quit that job and it was a 4 star hotel
I was a housekeeper at a motel in a small town when I was younger and omg do I have some stories! 😂 it the most disgusting and disturbing job ever
I worked as a housekeeper I’m a male I was 23/25 somewhere in Ohio. One of my workers one day was taking a big utility fan up some stairs fell back and had hit his head I called 911 and we got him the help he needed. He was the laundry guy he ended up quitting shortly after and I ended up taking his position. He thanked me he was a great guy we always had breakfast and stuff in the morning together. He also was a DNR so they couldn’t resuscitate. I also walked in on someone who had a couch on fire they were on meth. One of the front desk employees got shot overnight. I had a lady I worked with cannot remember her name. She was getting a ride from her brother to work and their car was shot up on the way to work she ran into the office crying explaining what happen she didn’t stay for work she went to the hospital 2 min from our hotel the car looked like Swiss cheese. I liked working in hotels but I don’t think I will ever do it again it’s like restaurant jobs you appreciate what they are and who does them but you yourself doesn’t want to be the one to do it.
it’d be a similar vibe in a hospital, you have no idea what’s happened in the bed before you’ve stayed in it.
i worked in emergency, and we had someone pass away, an hour later someone else was in the bed getting treated.
You have no idea, a single guy shit in 3 beds and wiped it on the walls... and shit in the dining room for breakfast, a party set a room on fire, we got it fixed and the next guy smashed threw the wall. One guy stayed for a few weeks and was found half way crawling in the door, when peeking in the room it was clear we needed to throw everything away including the carpet.
After seeing a video about germs in hotels, the 2 worst places were on the remote & the drinking glasses. Simple hacks: pack several ziplock bags to put the remote in so u don't have to touch it
And buy a folding cup to use in the bathroom for example instead of the one in the hotel room.
If you gotta tip house keepers , then EVERYONE better tip the ppl cleaning Nashville shores, any kind of park, etc. hotels aren’t the only place where people are cleaning up after the public
As a housekeeper. All I can ask to all the people out there is there’s a trash can. Use it. Who’s momma taught them to leave wrappers on the floor and counter. These are the people who should leave a tip. If you treat your housekeeper more like a maid tip them.
😂😂😂 this is a podcast I totally wanted to do. I work at a bank and whenever I have to sit for someone for long periods of time I always ask about their jobs. I’ve been able to speak to strippers, cam girls, cocktail waitresses, cirque de soleil performers, housekeepers, police officers, security guards, and bartenders to name the most interesting. Let me know if you need a field reporter from the city of sin. 😅
I like tucked sheets, but my husband doesn't He thinks his feet are colder when the sheet is tucked in which makes no sense, so when I change our sheets I tuck in my side and not his. He complains I steal the sheets which is untrue, it's jsut tucked in on my side so they drift that way lol.
I always clean my hotel room before I go lol
When I stay at a hotel. I always pick all the trash up and wipe down the table and side tables. All my towels get put in the bathtub folded. My down fall is I will remake my bed because I hate to leave it unmade. I know it's not helpful. I just can't help myself.
I also didn't realize that I should tip the house cleaner when I was already in my 30s. love how the guest takes pride in her work. 5 stars.
I have always tried to clean up after myself, or if I was staying with friends and now on my only family trips. I will strip all the linen off the bed and pillows, all towels on top (some a little wet) to insure they wash the linens for the next person, clear the refrigerator and stack our dirty cups from the hotel or casino floor.
Everyone should be mindful of workers. Clean up after yourself, tip well and be kind. Even though I know workers get paid for it. I just keep in mind that not everyone is the same and will leave their room filthy.
I work in customer service and some days you feel so used, underpaid and broken.
I offer my own one woman home cleaning service and I've never had naked people im usually alone in the home. But I've dealt with the ultimate filth. Being a housekeeper is by no means an easy job. Idk what I'd do if I had to deal with a naked person...best I got is I bring lysol just for spraying in someone's eyes if they attack me.
And it'd work too just saying😉
I cleaned a house for a family who seemed to leave random dirty nappies (diapers) around the place and 5 million half empty shampoo bottles in the shower that was filled with grime and hair. People are gross!
I commend you, I did that job for 3 months and after one job where the house was so incredibly dirty, I had to quit, I like cleaning my house, but other people are nasty
Lol why do I feel like Greg woke up and chose chaos today
This just proves how disgusting and inconsiderate people are and what's worse and they just don't care
Joes face to gregs s*x questions is hilarious considering how his videos back in the day were. He wouldve been the first one asking lmao
I worked at Motel 6. It was the worst job I ever had. Blood in the bathtub, dirty diapers on the bed, poop on the wall, and that was only 1 room. And we never washed the comforters.
When they thank the guest for coming on, you can always tell when the guest has more to say. I enjoyed the episode but this was a layup that missed the mark. Lately OPL feels rushed.
As a housekeeper I cleaned a room once and found the GIANT box to a NO JOKE leaf blower sized dildo 😂🤦🏻♀️ the thing was giant
god bless 😭
You should interview the bartender of a hotel. I worked at a hotel near SFO as a bartender and I could tell you stories for hours.
When I get to a hotel, I clean the entire room. Before I bring in my things, I disinfect the switches, knobs, counters. Some walls, especially the headboard. I clean the toilet and shower. I ask for extra sheets and then I cover them with my own sheets. I bring my own pillow. I wear sandals the entire time. Never put my luggage on the floor. Insane, I know. 😂 it takes about 30 min or so but worth it (I think!).
I'm a housekeeper and I tell you you're doing the right thing. I do the same when I travel because I've seen first hand that everything basicaly gets just wiped down in 15 minutes when it's high season and that's about it. I personally take pride in my work and try to desinfect surfaces and deep clean as much as I can. Most of my coworkers are just there to get the paycheck and don't care about anything else. You're not crazy for being so careful about everything... Oh, and bring your own cup😄
@@mufferducker822 omg! Thank you! Lol
Every time I get off of a plane, I am embarrassed for the “1st class” passengers who leave their seat area a total mess.
I was a housekeeper for 8 years! In all my years the craziest thing I had to do was pack up an entire apartments worth of stuff moved into a room (somehow?) And he was thrown in jail for beating his girlfriend that found where he was. They threw bloody towels in the tub overflowed all over the room and the mini fridge had blood leaking out as he shoved it so full. Glass everywhere, all sorts of blood and we had to pack it all up. Wack
I got a housekeeping job with my cousin an she had to train me (now in my area I live in some of the lower cost hotels have permanent residents)she told me that there was a customer that lives there permanently so we wouldn't need to clean it but once a week an u need to be prepared for what u see in his room (now this man's room had a jacuzzi) an he tips well too so any change on the tables counters or dressers u see u can have it he tells that to all the housekeepers that cleans his room
She told me 1 time she went to clean his room an she said it looked like he had a party champagne bottles an glasses all around the jacuzzi she then says here's the kicker the entire inside of the jacuzzi was covered in baby oil she said it took me several hrs just to clean the jacuzzi cause of all the slipping an sliding she was doing because of it she finally says but boy did I make bank that day cause I got over $200 in change an bills best tip I ever got working here
I told her I said I bet his a male escort she agreed
She didn’t really address the things that I thought she would. Seems like she just wanted to talk and share a few stories.
My best friend is a housekeeper. She said she’s found the craziest stuff from people who seemed so “normal” 😂. The craziest one to me is this lawyer booked a room for about a week and he wanted his room cleaned everyday. Every time she went to change his sheets , there would be shit stains. So one day he left out a huge dildo and it had shit on it.
My mom worked briefly as a housekeeper when I was a child. We eventually left the city, and she got a much better job. Anyway, I never heard stories as gross as the ones I've heard. But I did hear how nasty guests tend to leave their rooms. Since she had the experience of being a housekeeper, she strips the bed sand puts all the dirty towels in one pile and little things like that to make the housekeeper's life a little easier. Are they also on schedule? The guest didn't say anything about it, but my mom said she was. It would also be nice the hotels made it clear that housekeepers can receive tips. I didn't know that until today.
I volunteer to share all the things, working as a veterinary technician.... PET OWNERS ARE CRAZY and some wild cases
This sounds like a scary job honestly
I currently am a housekeeper and I’m a man. Been here for almost 4 months and the worst things I’ve seen are just really messy rooms with garbage, a whole trash can filled with used condoms, and seen a guest’s breasts by accident cus she open the door assuming I was a woman since I’m the only male housekeeper in the hotel. Oh and yes we barely get any tips. Most of the time I get no tips during the week but the most I got in a week was $40.
that stache tho boooiiiIIII
Definitely tipping more
Shes sooo sweet!! 😊😊 awww. 🔥💞
Unless you’re in Australia or Europe (in which case do not tip, especially in Australia bc it actually pisses them off if you can believe it😳😅) but if you’re in America then you should always tip anyone who serves you on a personal level (so that’s food/ accommodations etc)
Also, the painting is more Salvador Dali as it seems to be dripping..,😂
Honestly, when ever I book a hotel , if it has an app I try to decline housekeeping services , and I do clean up after myself. If I need something I go get it at the front desk . I’d rather have no one in my room . But this episode made me realize I may need to start bringing my own sheets or clean the sheets provided myself lol I never mind tipping , but considering how I try to move , I don’t see the need to tip because I try to do as much of it myself as possible. I guess it’s because I got into air bnb culture before I went to hotel culture . In the event I do use the service though, I will tip 😅
I started a home and office cleaning business 10 years ago and I have seen a lot. I have only been tipped twice. I started cleaning for VRBO’s at the Lake of the Ozarks and I would say that’s when I see the most wild stuff…and no offense to bikers, but I see the MOST wild stuff during bike week. I cleaned for a bachelor party and they left me Jell-O shots as a tip 🤦🏼♀️
Oh boy
So funny that literally second before she said someone answered the door naked I was wondering if they would ask her that or she did 😂.
Anyone who works house keeping is my hero. I have seen some shit because of housekeeping!!! That’s a job that needs therapy included in the insurance benifits!!
I'm a night auditor at a Hotel till I finish college and this lady isn't bullshitting
Damn, I was a housekeeper for four years. I was prideful of being a housekeeper but people were just dreadful. Especially during covid. People don't want to leave because they have nowhere to go but not enough to stay another night. You have shootings, human trafficking, which we took very seriously. Homicides and endless domestic violence, drug addicts, kidnappings, kids who are lost and can't find their parents because they're too doped up! Drug rings! So so much to deal with, and you don't get hazard pay for bodily fluids. The most miniscule thing you can do is don't forget your stupid sad boys toys and TIP. Much love for the ones who are in that line of work.
People put small cameras in the rooms to watch people.i alwaysss check my room.
I always leave a tip in the room. I just wish I was able to leave it on the card for the housekeeper, but many hotels say no. I don't often travel with cash and my currency is different.
What does she mean you don’t pee in the shower at home?
Hey I worked at a hotel in Antibes when I was twenty and on cleaning the room i emptied the waste bin and found a four carat diamond ring..
Just like when i go out to eat, when I go to a hotel as well, I think of the person that has to deal with my sh!t.. I will literally stack the tables plates and leave the table spotless and stuff. At a hotel, i pick up everyones trash, the bedspread I'll put back on the bed because we usually don't use the comforter because some places don't wash those after each guest, which is disgusting. But yeah, just do unto others... you know the saying..
I tip housekeepers when their service is atleast good. If their service isn't good and they weren't in the room the whole time I was there and I am using the same rag the whole 3 days I'm there and scrambling for more towels than i don't feel like a tip is deserved
I'm from Indiana...she said Culver Academy...I hope she still has a job! Lol
It would be helpful if they put the name of your housekeeper each day on your bill or even if they had a QR code for each of them! That way you know who to tip and also be convenient for us guest.
I do tip, and tipping is customary in most countries. Although I do tip, I can't wrap my head around why the customer gets a bad reputation when they don't tip. Why not criticize or blame the employer for not compensating their employees adequately? 😳😳
Like any other service job they should be compensated a living wage for what they do by the employer. There's nothing wrong with tipping but it should be for exceptional service. Hotels charge a lot for a night times the amount of rooms they have. They definitely can afford to pay their staff fairly. The United States really need to get their sht together. It's like a third world country in some respects.
I work at a campground with only 3 cabins and only my manager and I work there. So we switch off cleaning the cabins… only thing gross I’ve ever found was underwear in the sheets and white stains all over the sheets😅
