Hi Dimitri, I am coming up to 12mth ownership of my Haval H6 and 10000km still love the car. I must be one of the lucky ones I have never had a problem connecting my phone works every time I have an oppo find x2. As far as the indicator cameras mine has it have a look here to see if you can turn it on Go into “Vehicle Settings” on infotainment screen Then select “Parking” Then select “AVM Status” Then turn on “Turn Indicating Auto On” Thanks for the update.
Thanks mate, appreciate the advice. Re. my Android Auto (which might be different to Apple Carplay implementation), I'll post a video about the add-on system that I've started using now and it (honestly) solved all my problems in this department...
My Haval H6 is already 10k kilometers, and I still love it. I feel the intelligent cruise control makes long trips much less tiring than having to control every aspect of driving myself. In vacations, we usually take it for 500-kilometer trips or longer, even 1 thousand, and it is, by far, less tiring than the same trip in my old Changan CS35 MT. I love the size of the trunk, I mean, it fits all my stuff when going out for vacations. It is a little bit scary, anyway, how easily it builds up speed. If you don't look at the speedometer you can't simply tell what speed you're driving at. It is so smooth that you can't even feel small bumps on the road.
It's great value for money, I still believe that. Just a few annoyances here and there and very high depreciation if you want to sell privately after a year of ownership. Ouch, it'll hurt! 😉
mine is close to 20 000, and I am loving it, yes the ELK is annoying when there is no line its just beeeps and beeeps, out of curiosity. on the parking settings, you should see a parking assist while indicating, that will turn on the 360 cam when you indicate and slow down. Its super hidden, not even my Havel count figure it out. android auto took me 5 cables to figrure out and its now stable haha, Thanks for your videos. And I love the car.
Thanks for your review. If you do one after 10,000 km I will watch. I don't have a problem with my H6 Ultra and Apple Carplay and Waze. Centre screen is very very good for this. Did have problems with iphone in my previous car until I got the iphone cable portal cleaned. That fixed it. Have always agreed about the sunroofs!
Sunroof is useless! 😂 Maybe it's my cables, I'm not sure. In the next video I'll talk about wireless system I've been testing and I really like it so far
hi i bought the same car as you have also exactly the same colour car as yours yesterday .picking up on friday. they sold me for $32900 including free car mats free windo tinted, white number plate, and full petrol tank on pick up, plus all those warranty.
Hi Dimitri, I got Lux 3 weeks ago and loves it.. Jumping from corolla sedan into this car was like I got into truck.. It is well build and of good quality. Only thing Im still struggling is when taking off turbo charger kick in and I find it soo hard to keep on speed limit.. Might get used to it later as I use car.. I did switch off main ELK off but still comes on when cruise controll is in use.. I just ignore warning bip and keep driving my way.. I got 2k kms on mine as was demo model but definetly drives well.. On freeway at 100kmh looks like its standing in place, handling very well.. Definetly good car for city or county roads.. Will reccomend to other people as well..
H6 is a great car, as I said many times. It's the switch to novated lease and sale after 1 year that hit me hard in terms of depreciation. But if you plan to drive this car into the ground, I'd say the value is still unbeatable.
Hi Dimitri and everybody else, I have a 2023 H6GT ultra, I have had the usual trouble with connection of my phone to the android auto USB port. the problem appears to be a sensitivity to USB cables. Some work properly some dont, it pays to try a few. I now have bought a Carsifi wireless android connector, The unit plugs into your USB port and wirelessly connects to your phone where ever it is in the car, I just lay mine on the charge pad, when I first got it I used the supplied cable, even "it" did not connect properly, so I tried another cable I had sitting around at home and it has worked perfectly since then. the only time I get a drop out is when I am near somewhere with a strong radio transmission ie: Perth airport or major road works. All manual and verbal commands to the phone work, calls, messaging, Waze, Google Maps, Spotify etc. Its around $130 AUD, just "google" it. Cheers Brian in Western Australia
Thanks Brian, good timing mate as I'm literally about to review a different wireless Android system that I've installed and it works very well so far. Good on you, I'm done with cables too!
@@ValueCarsAU Thanks Dimitri, I currently have the programing button on the steering wheel, the one marked as a * set to operate race mode but I am wondering if it could be assigned to the ELK, which would be a more useful one click shortcut to kill ELK, I will give it a try today. Tried it, no luck, even in the sub menus 🤧
The 360° camera that turns on automatically comes in the Deluxe version (Super, I think it is in the Australian market). It even turns on at a certain angle of the steering wheel, without necessarily switching the turning lights on. That feature can be enabled or disabled in the setup screen.
Had mine for 8months and 20k kilometers. Not a single issue with chassis, engine, transmission... The only one i have is that, after updating my phone software, multimedia in Haval H6 starts bugging (buttons not showing, but they are there and you can tap on them..or google maps gets stuck until you unlock your phone). It happens both with Samsung and Xiaomi. Overall, comfy car, ideal for long distances...in the urban environment its a bit bulky and fuel consumption cant go below 14liters :) 8.5/10, would gladly recommend it to anyone who are traveling a lot Vehicle: Haval H6 2.0T 4x4 with Supreme Package
I've also noticed that Android Auto when connected from my Xiaomi becomes weird, like you said, sometimes acting very erratic, e.g. I could even disable Bluetooth connectivity (thinking it would reset it), but the phone just turns Bluetooth back on by itself! It's weird stuff, but nothing too critical.
I have Haval H6 Ultra Hybrid which also has reached 5000km. I'm, not a fan of the widgets/menus in the head unit, too easy to accidentally drill in and open sub-menus. Screen real estate is wasted in UI design and the head unit and driver instrumentation font are too small. I'm getting awesome performance and fuel economy. I did 6l/100km over 920km with 54L this fortnight AROUND town on 91 RON! I'm very happy with the car. I am starting to think I'd go for a Tank 300 Hybrid for better seats and more dash buttons so not dependent on the media centre for basic AC/Seat Heating functions. I have an old Prado for offroad, maybe I could have gone to one car with Tank 300 instead of H6.
Great review Sir. Didn't know anything about these Havals until now. Always a tad sceptical about Korean cars, but your review was encouraging. Bob. New Zealand.
Just bought a Haval H6 Lux and I agree with most of what you have said. I find the lack of a sat-nav a bit irksome and the lack of a 12v cigarette socket in the rear (although there is a space for it) is also annoying if you want to run a car fridge to the wholesaler etc etc . Otherwise, a great car!!
Thank you for your reviews. I have watched a few. We are on a hunt for a new family car. We have 3 kids. Putting aside most of the needs and wants we are looking for in a car, What i have struggled to find in any review videos within the cars we're looking at, is the car seat in the middle to show the room on the sides. I have a 13, 11, and 3 year old. So the 3 year old sits in the middle. So, I'm trying to make sure the kids have the room in the back with the carseat in the middle. We do get the kids to sit in the back most of the time when looking at cars but its not ideal to carry the car seat around too 😅
Hey welcome to the channel. With three kids and one is a teenager, I'd say you need plenty of room at the back AND room for storage if you plan to travel all 5 of you somewhere... So, I wouldn't recommend a standard 5 seater SUV and you're be better off researching 7 seaters (just to have more room at the back and fold the rear row for extra storage), or take a look at a family wagon such as Subaru Outback or even something like Honda ZR-V. Your standard 5 Seater SUV like Haval H6 might fit the budget, but I think it would get a little packed if you travel with the whole family on a regular basis.
I have done 7000km in my Haval H6 Lux and so far had no problem with the Android Auto satnav connection. I hope I never do as I use it often when travelling. I enjoy Spotify while driving on long trips and that works well also. Reasonably comfortable ride with good peripheral vision. The seats get very hot in the Summer climate, so probably seat covers are essential. Would be a good selling point if they were fitted standard. So far so good. Good value for money.
Agree, good value for money for sure. ADAS software can be tuned better as ELK wrestling me back into the lane was and remains my main complaint about H6.
Hi Dimitri. Great video again. Glad your'e still enjoying your H6. We are in to our 4th week of ownership and love it so far. My wife drives it most of the time and it did take her awhile to get used to the different transmission operation style. I must admit it was new to me as well. I'm used to the torque converter doing the job. I think she has finally got the idea now. If not, we'll be up for a repair job one day! I showed her how to disable the ELK assist before she starts her journey. Well, take care of yourself. I hope your TANK sits in your driveway soon. Cheers, Chris. Sunny Coast.👍🙂
Hey mate thank you for your support and kind wishes, I frankly still don't know if I'll sell it or hold on to it as the offers I've been getting are just laughable, plus as I said I don't dislike this car, I could hang on to it
I pick up a 2021 H6 lux next week, i intend to remove the centre column and re-plug the usb wires into the opposite sockets so the drivers socket is the correct one for my phone connectivity. A couple hours work for a few years of pleasure.
@@ValueCarsAU the thing that'll take longest is the removal, swapping the ports will take 30 seconds. I'll tell you how i go. If it's easy I'll write the steps up for anyone who wants to do the same
Thank you for the honest review. My question is : Is it better to buy a petrol car or the Hybrid version of this model ? H6 Haval Lux Hybrid version ???
If you can afford a +$10k price tag for a hybrid, AND plan to drive the car for a long time (so that the saving pays for higher upfront cost) then hydrid is prob better. Otherwise I'd just stick to plain and simple petrol
Really enjoyed listening to your thoughts on this vehicle after 6 months. I hope more people will do the same as their ownership moves forward into the 10s and 20,000km and beyond. So many reviews are based on the car while its new, not too many when they've been driven for a while. Very entertaining video mate
I have similar problem with apple CarPlay connection, but it can be easily fixed. Press and hold the mute and home button on your steering wheel for 10 seconds, and that will reboot your infotainment, and your android auto or CarPlay will work again!
You are wrong about the 360 camera not turning on automatically in the Haval H6 Lux when you turn a corner, you can opt for it to turn on automatically in the 'drive' option. Mine comes on all the time and especially when I am on a side road or turn a corner.
Hi Dimitri, I am new to viewing your videos and enjoy your content. Can you tell me if you have tested the Haval H6 GT? I am thinking of getting one and would really value your point of view on that SUV.
Nope haven't tried BYD and haven't heard much good stuff about those cars either. But should try for sure just need to research where the closest dealership is
@@michaeldower7 I watch John Cadogan. Yes the MG4 is miles better. However Dimitri focus' on Chinese brands so might want to do it for an episode. Salesman in Greenwood plaza at North Sydnet train station at the moment. "Test drive now" it says.

This is for you or anyone else watching who has had long-term use of their Haval. I am just waiting on the shipment to Trinidad before i get mine but I would like some feedback for persons who have been driving the haval H6 HEV, particularly the Ultra longterm and consistently.
@@ValueCarsAU the Motorola does occasionally reboot but it picks up from where it was at,other than that it's flawless, great honest video by the way, I was willing to except the poor resale value and save up front, to me it's the same end result, I luv my H6 ultra hybrid and will keep it for at least 7 years
Can you talk about why you chose the Lux over the Premium? I'm looking at getting an H6 now thanks to yours videos but can't justify an extra $3000 for the Lux. What are your thoughts? These are the extra things you get: Front LED Fog Lamps Roof Rails Heated Comfort-Tek Seats 6-way Power Adjustable Driver's Seat Electronic Anti-glare Rear View Mirror Intelligent Cruise Control with Traffic Jam Assist 360 Around View Camera Which do you think are things I should consider?
Very nice video, thanks for the honest review! I am considering to buy the H6, can you please answer me the following questions. Does the car interior rattles in any point, or any weird sound occur while driving? Also are there any issues (rattles, wierd noises) with the suspension, because i have read that this is the weak point of the car? And how is the overall build quality? I am asking this, because currently i drive Renault Mwgane 4, and is such a poor build car, that i cannot imagine it is exited like that from the factory. The whole interior rattles, the suspension sqweeks, issue with paint etc, and the car have only 24k km. I consider replaceing the megane with the h6.
@@ValueCarsAU Great, thanks for the answer. A new one, as Henry Ford once said "The best car is the new car", but this is applicable to all other brands except Renault.
My experience was good with both, but I guess as with any brand it depends on your luck and where you go. I haven't generally heard anything bad about HAVAL customer service so far, unless you go to the dodgy end of town, eg Lansvale GWM and HAVAL dealership, but I have a different video about that
I'm thinking of buying a H6 Vanta. How do you find the brakes in the Haval? I have test driven one and found the brakes a bit questionable I'd you need to brake suddenly.
Can you provide more info on the engine and the reliability of it? For example are they using an engine from another manufacturer or is this purely a new Chinese made engine? And talking about the Rav4, is the engine as reliable as a Toyota? I haven’t found any info on that. Thank you!
You might want to do further research if you're interested in the in-depth technical specs mate, I'm just an owner sharing more of an experience feedback than insights into tech. Not than kind of channel, sorry.
Hi Dimitri, I'm trying to find out if there is a better tyre for the front of H6 hybrid ultra. Just way to much wheel spin. Thought you might have some info on this. I've only had it for 2.5 months so far. Cheers Cameron
H6 hybrid ultra does not come as AWD so only front wheel drive. I know there are lots of brands out there. Was just hoping that someone may have already done some testing and had a resolution to this issue.@@ValueCarsAU
I'd say that Haval H6 is a solid vehicle, which I unfortunately can't say about Omoda 5 - but please keep in mind that I haven't owned an Omoda for a long period of time, I've only test-driven (a few) of them. Haval has been disassembled by Russians and in China - I've watched those videos before buying, and while the car is far from perfect, it's very solid and has a solid history of auto manufacturing behind it. I can't say I found anything similar about Chery/Omoda. They *might* be good, but you and I have no data to support it. Please make your decision based on this (and always - ALWAYS - test drive the cars before making your choice. Preferably in both dry and wet weather conditions.
Voice control in H6? Not aware of it. Chery Omoda has it, but I think it kinda sucks, i.e. is not very responsive/accurate in recognition of what you're saying.
Can you tell me if you experienced any issues with the Bluetooth microphone? Im constantly being told i sound far away or that it cuts in and out and can only hear every 2nd or 3rd word. Only 1200km in and I'm ready to trade it back in for a loss its that frustrating 😒
hmm I'm not sure unfortunately and I don't have the car anymore to check - maybe someone else will help you. I've had the car for a year and - not that I made that many phone calls using car system, but I appreciate that it's a very common use case - I didn't notice any particular issues on the odd occasion when I did take a call or two.
@@ValueCarsAU In Q4 I will be buying the H6 Hybrid or the Chery Tiggo 8 PHEV (they say arriving late Q3 or Q4) as a 2nd car. Currently own a RAV4 Cruiser hybrid. It's a good car but I think it's overrated.
I have Haval H6 Hybrid. I can say the hybrid drives very nicely and is very economical while having good responsive torque. No complaints here. You get better economy around town which is amazing.
@@cybermatstrikes7557 I haven't test driven the H6 hybrid but I know it allows for much more EV mode driving than the RAV4 given the much larger battery (and Lithium ion as opposed to the Toyota nickle hydride). What's your thought about the H6 8-speaker sound system ?
@@nostradamus2642 it does use EV a lot around town which is why I've achieved a urban fuel economy is better than highway kms. Torque is good. I don't know why people would consider a full EV currently as this is a better solution at a very compelling price point. The sound system is ok but it could do with a sub. Keen to listen to infinity sound in Tank300. It works and sounds good but not great.
I find the 360 camera under utilized, it should have allowed when indicating at higher speeds even for zst. Yes zst 360 is not at high resolution but does the job. I don’t need a sat nav if there is CarPlay.
At least the RAV 4 and Mazda will be sellable in 10 years for a reasonable price. If a backpacker wants a cheap car to drive across Australia, yes a good choice over the old rusty L300 or Hiace.
You're not wrong that backpackers and people who are after reasonably resellable 10+ year old cars will look at Toyotas rather than this. But if you live NOW and want quality and pleasure of driving around NOW, at a much lower price point, it's not even a competition.

How is the transmission compare to hybrid? Bit concern of DCT
Really enjoyed listening to your thoughts on this vehicle after 6 months. I hope more people will do the same as their ownership moves forward into the 10s and 20,000km and beyond. So many reviews are based on the car while its new, not too many when they've been driven for a while. Very entertaining video mate
Glad to hear you enjoyed it and thank you for your positive comment!
I have similar problem with apple CarPlay connection, but it can be easily fixed. Press and hold the mute and home button on your steering wheel for 10 seconds, and that will reboot your infotainment, and your android auto or CarPlay will work again!
Good advice, thanks mate
You are wrong about the 360 camera not turning on automatically in the Haval H6 Lux when you turn a corner, you can opt for it to turn on automatically in the 'drive' option. Mine comes on all the time and especially when I am on a side road or turn a corner.
Good to know!
I believe there's a physical button you can press to activate the 360 camera, at least there's one in Jolion.
Hmm not sure about physical button, but will check anyway! 😉
@@ValueCarsAU it’s the second last button next to rear window heating button.
Good review Dimitri but I love a sunroof, how else do you want to maintain an even colour on that dome and get some vitamin B?....
haha best point about vitamin D (I think you meant D not B mate 😉)
Hi Dimitri, I am new to viewing your videos and enjoy your content. Can you tell me if you have tested the Haval H6 GT? I am thinking of getting one and would really value your point of view on that SUV.
Hey just check out the videos on my channel and you should have no problems finding my review and thoughts on H6 GT! 😉👌
Good video. Glad it still holds up for you and you still like it. I can't remember if you have test driven the BYD Atto 3.
My haval h6 6 which is ultra does have a feature of 360 deg camera when one puts indicator on.(i do not use that function as i have eyes lol)
Looks like I must have just the setting turned off
I own a haval h6 I had the same problem with android auto When I went for periodic maintenance, I informed the engineer in charge of that, and he re-downloaded the software for the car and the problem is gone
Another video is coming shortly about how I went around this problem ENTIRELY
This is for you or anyone else watching who has had long-term use of their Haval. I am just waiting on the shipment to Trinidad before i get mine but I would like some feedback for persons who have been driving the haval H6 HEV, particularly the Ultra longterm and consistently.
I'm sure you'll enjoy your new H6 when it arrives! 😉👌
Your videos are keeping me going as I wait for my H6 GT haha!
Good choice, hopefully you won't need to wait too much longer!
Thank you for the review. How about the realistic fuel consumption ltrs/100kms?
I'd say it's around 8-9 in the city with the air con on
Salaamo-alykum brother, thanks for the video.
You're welcome here brother, thank you for the comment
motorolla MA1 transforms the wired android in wireless, works very well
Anything that enables wireless connection is a good idea in most cars, good on you mate
These are the extra things you get:
Front LED Fog Lamps
Roof Rails
Heated Comfort-Tek Seats
6-way Power Adjustable Driver's Seat
Electronic Anti-glare Rear View Mirror
Intelligent Cruise Control with Traffic Jam Assist
360 Around View Camera
Which do you think are things I should consider?
I thought I spoke enough about why I chose Lux over the top of the range
@@ValueCarsAU maybe the new types are different. For the new ones, premium is below lux.
Nothing rattles, at least for me at about 7000 kms at this point. Great car. Are you considering to buy new or "almost new" second hand?
@@ValueCarsAU Great, thanks for the answer. A new one, as Henry Ford once said "The best car is the new car", but this is applicable to all other brands except Renault.
Totally agree about the Sun roof they are a waste of money for Australia cars
Haval H6 .class active is good
Sunroof is a sucker catcher in AU! 🤣
Dimitri wait for you for testing Tank 300, good video, thank you!
I've published a couple of videos, have you seen those?
@@ValueCarsAU yes,but I want to watch your testing!
good review mate. hows the reliability? any issues? becuase its made in china just a bit worries. thanks
Reliability was fine in my experience. Every car can have issues. Do some research on Range Rover or Volkswagen.
How's the dealership after sales experience ?
My experience was good with both, but I guess as with any brand it depends on your luck and where you go. I haven't generally heard anything bad about HAVAL customer service so far, unless you go to the dodgy end of town, eg Lansvale GWM and HAVAL dealership, but I have a different video about that
I'm thinking of buying a H6 Vanta. How do you find the brakes in the Haval? I have test driven one and found the brakes a bit questionable I'd you need to brake suddenly.
Hmmm I haven't tried braking suddenly (especially from a higher speed), but over the year of ownership noticed zero issues with brakes.
Hi! Just wondering have you driven this car on motorway ? And if yes is is stable enough ? Or how is it ? Thank you
Of course I have, long trip from Sydney to Gold Coast and back. Drives absolutely fine.
Hi Dimitri, I'm trying to find out if there is a better tyre for the front of H6 hybrid ultra. Just way to much wheel spin. Thought you might have some info on this. I've only had it for 2.5 months so far. Cheers Cameron
Is your H6 AWD? Lots of tyre brands to choose from, if you want to spend money, I guess
H6 hybrid ultra does not come as AWD so only front wheel drive. I know there are lots of brands out there. Was just hoping that someone may have already done some testing and had a resolution to this issue.@@ValueCarsAU
Would this be a better buy than the chery omoda 5 ?
Preferably in both dry and wet weather conditions.
you forget to tell the horse power that you would get at this price on c segment suv in the market.
Look8ng at buying a H6 Demo for 31990, thoughts on a demo model?
As always - depends on the number of Kms and condition of the car, as with any used car sale.
@@ValueCarsAU 310ks only, basically brand new
My USB disconnection issue was resolved after I replaced a proper better quality USB cable.
Yep, or just get a wireless Android Auto solution like I did - works much better with no cables to worry about.
In China, the voice control is so great, nobody uses the screen. Just talk to it. Australia version doesn't have voice control?
Voice control in H6? Not aware of it. Chery Omoda has it, but I think it kinda sucks, i.e. is not very responsive/accurate in recognition of what you're saying.
Sun roof over rated yes sir agree
Sunroof is for gullible suckers 😂
All the reviewers of the H6 Hybrid say it drives substantially better than the petrol H6. The H6 hybrid behaves more like a PHEV than a Toyota hybrid.
We'd have to take their word for it as I still haven't driven an H6 hybrid
Hi Dimitri great informative video can you take a look and review Mahindra Scorpio and XUV 700 they are great value cars too
Yep, the first look at Scorpio coming next weekend!
Another great video, thank you. How about the Mahindra Xuv700 AX7 that's recently released at the same price $36k?
I'd be happy to - honestly - take a look at it if there was a dealership anywhere close to where I live
A review on Skoda Kamiq would be good
Never say never, but Skodas are not high on my list of interests
If no 95 fuel can use 98 but becomes expensive.
If no 95 fuel, I'd just use 91 once or twice and then go back to 95 - nothing is gonna happen... 98 is WAY too expensive.
Great Solid Car this deviates from some other conventions brand!
Not sure I understood what you're saying. What deviates from what conventions?
have you test driven the MG zst EV yet?
I drove MG HS PHEV, not ZST EV.... Should try and get that done soon, but personally wasn't too interested, I'll be honest
How do you compare your Haval H6 to your MG HS
I mean your previous MG
I like H6 a lot more, and posted a few videos in the past about it - check my channel if interested
Can you retro fit a cd player in these?
With enough desire, skill and/or money to throw at it you could fit virtually anything anywhere... 🙄🤣
Does anyone know when will the Phev H6 release?
I have no idea and frankly thought they already have released. Maybe not, I'm not sure.
@@ValueCarsAU As I know that China mainland has released the H6 Phev small battery version. Tailand has released the long distance version.
The emergency lane keeping can actually be turn off
Not permanently.
I find the 360 camera under utilized, it should have allowed when indicating at higher speeds even for zst.
Yes zst 360 is not at high resolution but does the job.
I don’t need a sat nav if there is CarPlay.
I find camera being the best and most utilised stock electronics feature I've been using in this car while I had it
At least the RAV 4 and Mazda will be sellable in 10 years for a reasonable price.
I have 29800kms on my ultra lol
Good for you? 🤷
@@ValueCarsAU I should’ve clarified no issues even at that point 😅
Show proof 😂
