    I bought one in January. And I absolutely love it.
    5 star ANCAP rating, Longer warranty then RAV4 and zero wait time.
    I drove from Adelaide to the Barossa valley the other day. All kinds of road conditions and got 4.4 L/100k one way and 4.6/100k on the way back.

    To be honest, many people said this is a Chinese car, this is from China. If we put aside the political reasons, the price and quality of Haval are actually quite good. Haval only entered Australia few years, and many people still say that time will tell you the truth. In fact, as a brand of Great Wall car, Great Wall has been selling cars in Australia for over ten years. Haval offers a permanent warranty in China, even Japanese and Korean car manufacturers can do it. so....... let politics go to hell, money is our own.

    China accounts for 1/3 of the global automobile production and sales market, and it is the place with the most fierce competition among automobile companies all over the world. SUV produced by GWM has sold the most in the Chinese market in the past 10 years, and its quality is very reliable.

    Well done thanks for the vedio. I own a haval and I love what it offers. It is great value for what you get with the price. I have to it is totally different feeling when you sitting in a Rav 4 and haval h6 hybrid. H6 hybrid very spacious, all the high tech features which you probably need to pay double the price to get in Lexus. It drives smoothly. In a Rav 4 everything is so basic, boring and especially I didn't feel that i was sitting in a SUV. it is nothing different than a hatchback for me.

    Like many, I had my eyes firmly on a RAV4 hybrid (I’m in Mauritius where this is a relatively new offering) but prices for a used one were almost the same as a top spec H6 hev, and a brand new one about £3750 about AUS $ 7250 more for entry level, so it was out of the range I wanted to really spend, by coincidence a friend of ours had a Haval Jolion, and gave us a lift home, I was very impressed at the ride and interior, and my interest was very seriously piqued! I looked into the Jolion hev and the H6 hev and saw that reviews were pretty much uniformity positive, so when a large car show hit a few weeks ago, we headed down to the Haval stand, checked out the Jolion, (boot was a bit small) but took the H6 hev for a test drive, wow! I wasn’t used to the level of quality, and the drive experience, the quietness, I was seriously impressed, I took it through all manner of driving styles, tight car parks, motorway, roundabouts, it handled very well, and I had no issues as a first time automatic driver, or driving one larger than I was used to, the 360’ camera is so clear and high def, it makes parking a breeze, and if you want, you can let the car park itself!
    The boot is 100litres bigger than the RAV4, the front seats both electric and ventilated (I won’t need heated seats in Mauritius!) there’s plenty of room in the back, even for 6ft+ people like my son sat behind me (6 ft 2”) in the drivers seat, and the full length sunroof makes the cabin bright and airy, my youngest will love it, the usb ports in the back will also find favour with my kids, and I won’t have to worry about battery drain, or a flat battery ever again. I put a deposit down on it straight away, and a promotion gave me an extra discount of about £1700 about $3200 AUS!
    Hopefully picking it up this week, it comes with a 10 year warranty here

    I am shook that you have recommended a Chineese car and a Haval no less! In all seriousness though, this is one of the best alternatives to the Rav4 Hybrid. You can get it now(2 years for a car? If you really wait on that you have more money than sense for multiple reasons, inflation for one) unlike the Rav4 hybrid the H6 actually wants you to use the EV mode unlike the Rav4 where its unavailable most of the time. Finally as you said its got more kit for the money than the Rav4. My only qualm with it is that it doesnt have a spare, so that 5 year roadside assistance could be needed, the Rav gives you a spare.
    Above both of these as you rightly said, if you REALLY want to save fuel, spend more money and get the Outlander PHEV, it put PHEV's in the zeitgeist for a reason, its the epitome of what plug ins are about. Otherwise, get a efficient non hybrid like a Suzuki, theyre cheaper and more fun to drive.

    • @elitechampion
      @elitechampion 21 день назад

      No, plug in hybrids are not the way to go as you add an extra 500kg for no real benefit. I bought this car 6 months ago and it does 1100km (5.5L/100km) on one tank of fuel. If you charge in a plug in and pretend it's a full EV, you'll be charging it every day and carrying around an entire ICE engine for no reason. If you don't charge it every day, you've got the exact same range as the Haval H6 Ultra hybrid but it probably cost you an extra $10-20k, complete waste of money. Stick with a conventional hybrid car or upgrade to a fully EV car. Don't waste your money on a plug in hybrid with a mini battery that you have to charge non-stop.

      Thanks for the feedback. But financing is a difficult and complex topic. There are multiple offerings to suit different needs, but - typically - you should get a better deal financing through a dealership than, say, via a personal bank loan.
      The amount and interest rate determines your repayments. But make sure you do the work to compare rates and payments. There are tools online for this.
      Also, how about checking our CarExpert’s car finder tool. Search “help me CarExpert” and you will find a great way to find a car and finance solution for you.

    If I was in the market for a hybrid, the RAV 4 would be worth the wait. You might get a lot of tech in the HAVAL. , but its likely to be painful to own & painful at changeover, that's If you can actually sell it, as dealers generally don't appear to want to take them as trades ins . The RAV is likely to be a lot less painful, reliable long term

    • @elitechampion
      @elitechampion 21 день назад +1

      That is true, if you like to sell your car every 2-4 years, then definitely go with the RAV4 as it's resale value will be far better. However, if you want a more luxurious car, all the latest modern tech and an extra $14,000 cash in your pocket, then go with the Haval H6 Ultra hybrid. I have both and I can confirm that the Haval H6 beats the RAV4 in almost every single category and it's so much more fun to drive because of the technology.

    It's a Chinese vehicle and you want to compare it to a Toyota? Toyota is known for well-built, engineered vehicles with great reliability. The GWM Haval H6 does not come with a pedigree of reliability. I would stick with the Rav4 over the Haval.

    • @therightcar
      @therightcar  Год назад +5

      With respect, the Haval H6 has only been available for a couple of years, and just months with hybrid power. Toyotas have been here for DECADES. Give the GWM models a chance to build a reliability reputation before canning them, hey??

      @@therightcar You are making my point for me. Toyota has been around for decades. They have continually improved and kept what is good on their vehicles. They do more market research than any other vehicle manufacturer. I have a 9-year-old Lexus ES 350 that drives like a new vehicle. Just regular maintenance no other issues. I realize Chinese vehicles have moved at lightning speed in the past 20 years to compete but they are not in the same league as let's say Toyota or Honda. Wish you well with the Haval but do a review on what it was like to own for 8-10 years.

      Just tell you a truth that RAV4 is abandoned in Chinese automobiles market by customers due to its two decades old screen(like Nokia in resolution). Among the best sellers in its segment, h6 is one of them and also BYD Song. In terms of reliability, H6 has been tested for almost ten years and easy to service. It was sold over 80,000 in just a month in China🎉🎉🎉.

    • @elitechampion
      @elitechampion 21 день назад

      @@bobil12138 Yep agreed, I went with the Haval H6 Ultra hybrid because I already have a RAV4 and I couldn't wait another 12 months for a second one. I'm glad I did because it's so much better than the RAV4. The technology is far superior, the RAV4 is old tech and it's missing so many features that the Haval has. You'd be silly to buy a brand new RAV4 at a higher price unless you want to sell it in 2 years because resale value is pretty much the only department where it beats the Haval. The Haval is also better for tall people as it has more head room with a humongous moon roof, far more luxurious than a RAV4.
