    Brad, the hand commentary with Rampage was really good. I think you're onto something there and would like to see more of that with your table mates who are poker pros, fellow bloggers or solid rec players who understand the fundamentals and can discuss the hand well. Really dig your channel and blog. Keep up the killer work!

    Is it normal to lose when beginning to play poker at casinos? I’m 19 and been playing poker for years with friends and online. I went to the casino for the first time and got absolutely destroyed. I took a couple months to work on my mistakes and decided to go again, my 2nd time and 3rd time. The 2nd time I was off to a good start but got card dead for 6 hours of play and got cleaned out again and the 3rd time was off to a bad start and went from 300 buy in down to 130. I got it back up to 306 and then got card dead and eventually lost it all after getting slightly tilted.
    I realized after the first time that I can’t just focus on my cards and need to focus on the other players tendency’s and their cards. I worked on paying attention to my opponents way more and the 2nd time I can tell I improved on that. I realized after the 2nd and 3rd time that I need to work on my ranges, sizing, and paying even more attention to what the other opponent(s) can have.
    Wondering if it’s common to lose when u start playing at the casinos for the first couple of times and it’s just getting more experience.

    • @alexandersnow5867
      @alexandersnow5867 2 года назад +2

      Went through the same thing. Online is a lot different. In general at low stakes live you don’t have to be very aggressive. If you clean up your pre flop ranges and don’t go crazy with stuff like A4s where you may in a more competitive environment, you should be fine. There’s so many loose passive players that playing good hands in position and cbetting is really good. When you come across those loose agressive players just tighten up and let them blast off. You’ll be good eventually but realize that folding marginal hands saves you a ton of money

      I'm 18 and have been going to Charity poker events for a while now (can't go to casinos yet). I lost quite a bit my first couple times but have been winning consistently now. A lot of it is being at the right table with old guys that aren't fully involved in the game. Use your age to your advantage because a lot of older guys think they can bully you.

    • @worm6948
      @worm6948 2 года назад +1

      I lost probably my first 3-4 sessions live. But it's similar to a new online site. Takes some getting used to. Just play through and try to be as comfortable as can be. You'll get the hang of it. Also you see a lot less hands so it might seem like you're running bad longer.

      Also I always play tight preflop and aggressive post flop which in my opinion is a very safe way to go about playing with people you don't know. Of course mix in some squeezes etc. and show bluffs to the table when its right.

    Don't play for bonuses like the 7,2 game, 6 card str8's or high hands. It will cost you alot drawing for that stuff. I learned that the hard way a long time ago.

    Hey Brad, love your videos can’t wait for each new episode. I am pretty green to the poker world and have been looking for some good book recommendations that you feel helped progress your game. I have heard you mention treat your poker like a business and I read that and it completely changed my thought and work processes, was wondering what other books influenced you to become a better player

    Rampage did a nice blog post about how much he made from RUclips and he has about 20% the subscribers you do, so it's easy to deduce you are making a very nice number from RUclips. Congrats. I enjoy all of your blogs and commentaries. Keep it going!

      I don't play poker either, but I do participate in other competitive endeavors. Watching these videos, I find that there's a lot of skills I can study which cross-over from poker: remaining disciplined, learning to deal with bad beats, always improving ones skills, believing in my own abilities, etc. While I would like to play a few hands of poker someday, I'm not sure I would ever play seriously - I simply don't have the time, energy, and risk tolerance to fully immerse myself in the game.
