I have Chime, but I also have two regular bank accounts! I only put money in Chime to use at drive-thrus!
This is why people need to have a bank account not a debit card that you order online. Why she has over $14K in Chime in the first place?
@Shondra Clemons same reason you worried about her comment..... lol
Yea Alana that’s crazy. But these apps or what make ppl feel so safe and secure how 🤷🏾♂️ never trusted them forgot what it was that made me say no. Ppl invest your money screw a bank.
Chime checking accounts are FDIC insured
Any bank 🏦 can hold money if it seems fraudulent
Yes any “bank” which chime is not. Hold and hold and then close account and keep the money are two different things.
Chime's not a bank though
But I’d rather a bank that I can go into that following Monday to resolve a probably thsn have to go back and forth with chime through email hell naw !!!
@@SCFLEUR chime isn't a bank, but they partner with banks who are FDIC insured. Therefore, the accounts are also FDIC insured (minus the credit card)
@timbre dan please reread my comment. I commented “any bank” which Chime is not.”
So now "they resolved this matter"... Yes once the news got involved.
I'm so glad I didn't deposit any money to chime.
I love the comments suggesting a brick-and-mortar bank is somehow more trustworthy, or easier to deal with. I had a credit union to the exact same thing to me, and lots of people in lots of countries have run into their bank only to find out banks don't actually have your money on hand waiting for you.
Wow im so sorry for these ppl that go through that!!!!!
I have Chime and haven’t had any issues, but I never had more that $1200 on it
Same here use have over 20000 never have problem too
Why would you put your life savings in a Chime account? Funny how Chime ad popped up for this.
I think it's misleading to call this woman's money her "life savings". While it may be all the money she had, if she was using it to pay her bills it was her "operating capital". That is something you need much more access to than savings.
😂😂😂😂 omg bruh, the chime app owners ran off on the plugs
Why do people fall for these scams is beyond me when all you need is a real bank around the block
Facts.
Banks credit unions stop being so damn gullible.
Wow. I bank with Chime! This is scary and crazy but really informative. I knew a coworker that said her account was inaccessible and put on hold when she got her car accident settlement money sent to Chime and they thought it was fraud. So, now I definitely believe her after seeing this. I’m expecting a lump sum but now I know to not direct deposit it with Chime cause I don’t have 10 months to fight with them. Thanks for reporting this story!🙏🏾
Funny how Chime KEEPS the money, instead of just rejecting the transfer if they think its fraud
@@jondoe406 Good point. They sound like crooks.
I wouldn't put a dime in chime.
This is why i would never use an online bank. I dont want all my records in the cloud alone. And if i have a problem, i want to be able to go to a physical location and speak with an actual person.
WOWOWOWOWOWOWO SHE SHOULD HAVE GOT THAT BACK WITH INTEREST
That would amount to about $ 1.40 at current rates.
Moral of the story, never do business with Chime.
I'm keeping my Chime. Not putting my life saving in it that is crazy.
I wouldn't put ant money in it. They can't have withhold any of my money
Who said it was her life savings though... Y'all in your assumptions 🤦🤦
@@EleganteBraids she said it was her life savings
I wont even link my bank account to any none bank debit card like chime. No way i would ever do that.Chime is only a debit card company.Duh.
I was told with regular Banks there's no guarantee that they'll have your money either.
What is the appeal with Chime? A lot of people put their money there
People ALWAYS Jump On Anything New WITHOUT Knowing Anything About It. What's Wrong With The Traditional Banks ?????
Who said something had to be wrong with traditional banks to go with something like Chime?
But there 'are' things wrong, like fees if you go under a certain amount; fees for speaking to a person by phone; $3.00 ATM fees, etc.
Also, there's the convenience of not having to leave home to take care of business. Perhaps she uses public transportation and finds it easier to just go online.
There's nothing wrong with trying the easier way.
Thank you Chase!
Chime tried to steal her money
Sue their scandalous asses. They were hoping she didn’t fight for her money. Criminals and they need to be prosecuted.
I don't understand why people use chime.
That’s why I deal with regular banks….brick and mortar.
Why would anyone deal with a bank that doesn't have a brick and mortar office in town? I only deal with a local credit union. Gave up on banks decades ago.
I've been using the same local bank since 1975. I was 15 years old when I opened my first account. I've never had one problem with the bank.
Woman even if you are joking did you really think it wise to tell people you are thinking about putting money under mattress? 14K
Smh
Welp, this was my fear of non-bank online banking manifested. I want a brick and mortar place I can go to with full time employees.
The irony is Chime us the advertisement for this video!!!!
Same here 😁
A *direct deposit* from the federal Treasury is 'unusual activity'...give me a friggin' break. If you've got bad credit clean it up and bank at a FDIC bank or credit union and you can still bank online, I do and don't use my bank's app.
The real question is why she couldn't put her life savings in a REAL BANK? 🤔
Nah, the real question is how you've managed to get over a 100 subscribers without having any content to your channel, Ms. Lady? With your pretty self. 🌹✌🏽😂
I also find it so odd that as I scroll RUclips to this video, right underneath the next video is a chime ad video!! Lol crazy times!!
I like her couch.
Something similar happened to Russell Simmons' fraudulent 'Rush Card'. None of these fly-by-night debit cards are worth the trouble. Stick with your local banks and credit unions folks!
I figured Chime was bad. My chime card was lost and closed I called them over and over and chime said every time ok go back in and apply and open again. Since 2016. So I figured if they are that messy with just replacing a card,Why would I let my government work check go to them 🤔 if it’s this much trouble you better leave them alone. And I did…
Welp ill never use chime thanks for the heads up
She was scamming. Case closed.
Sounds like your a hater because you don’t have 14k
@@theresagravalie7963 another scammer. Are you going to go down the whole comment thread and say that to everybody who thinks she's a scammer? Grow up and have several seats. 14,000 dollars on a chime card lmao.
GTFOH!!
@@theresagravalie7963 who actually has a chime card and is proud of it. She obviously doesn't have good credit, and can't get an account anywhere else.
@UC-72PBzb0l8-x7PHTY0SyNA that’s not true I have chime and still have a bank account with 5/3 and chase wtf are u on about lol like the lady said you’re a fucking hater lol and my credit isn’t all that .
Only disadvantaged people use that crap, because the can't open a checking/savings account at a BANK! If the institution is not on the FDIC list, don't bother with it! 💯
She should have recovered all the interest and all the other stuff and guess what they should take out some money for the inconvenience like the government charges 10% on the dollar get that 10% on a dollar pay attention I'm happy you got your money
Thank you for this information!!!!!
I've had chime for 3 years and I've had zero problems. Great app and good customer service. I've spoken to a live person Everytime I've needed too which has only been twice in 3 years.
Cuz she was doing fraud
I haven't had problems yet either however I will split my stash
Me either, no problems!something not right !suspect!
I fully believe it. I used to have chime and switched to another company because chime is grimy. Once I pulled $60 from a ATM but the ATM never gave me the money but I was still charged. Right after that I closed my account and knew they chime is wack af.
10 months, that's bad news Chime🤔
I was about to change my bank to chime but nevermind!!
I like old analog things that are reliable, and trustable.....I keep my money in the bank, never had a cell phone, not connected to any social media except You Tube.....No Facebook, Twatter, instant o gram, or any of the others.....I dont live on the computer either....welding up a front engine dragster frame in my garage the last couple of days. Retired, 63 yrs old.
That's understandable for a 63 year old, who's lived a good portion of his life before the mid 2000s when most of life went digital, however, life for your children's generation has always been digital. It would be stepping away from the norm for them.
@@lql1094 That dosent mean "better". Exactly the opposite. Can you see any 22 yr old today flying a crippled B-17 bomber back to base, 2 engines out, hydraulics all shot up, wounded on board, bleeding from shrapnel in his left hand?.....Me neither. A 22 yr old with a "man bun" and a cell phone couldn't even relate. We haven't moved forward, we are stuck in neutral. Whining woke college kids, and streets full of drug addled homeless people are a clue. ( The "norms" need to be "stepped away from", if there is to be any hope for our youth)
Stay away from Chime......
I don’t trust anything on the internet
lawd, whhyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy would she put $14k on CHIME? why? Y'all, Chime is NOT federally insured. don't keep substantial amount of money on these apps. USE a bank, yes they have issues BUT there are laws that hold banks accountable.
It's sad to realize how many people don't read the ""fine print" when making financial contracts.
The one most obvious detail to ascertain: is this banking service FDIC INSURED?
I think money banking apps like CHIME should be supervised the same as BoA, Wells Fargo, etc.
Chime IS FDIC insured
Like @chef extrodinare said, they are FDIC insured.
Chime is owned by Stride Bank and Bankcorp Bank which are both FDIC Approved.
