I did the math on a rent to own shed that was 14x28. I could have built four of these exact sheds for what all the payments totaled. In addition to that I realized how shoddy the framing was. The corners weren't up to code. No braces in any of the vertical walls and 2x4 used where 2x6 should have been. Completely unfit to convert to a tiny house which was what the salesman and I had verbally agreed on. I'm glad I backed out and built it myself.

He could have bought all the needed supplies and a framing nailer and given his friends 100$ each to help build it and still come out ahead of what he paid. Then sell the nailer and left over nails to someone else.
      BUT
It's a lot of work to build it. And if he had no history of building such a structure correctly, I think the HD choice was a good one.
And I've done both (built a shed and bought a Tuff shed).
I didn't want to build the TS-type shed but needed one. After pricing the whole thing out, I bought the Tuff Shed (sold through HD). So I know a thing or three about it.
(When I did my own build, there was no TS company (year 2000)).

Amish people could easily pre-build all the pieces and stack them up for a rookie who only needs to drive nails or screws at delivery point... I think that's a win/win. Amish don't have to use power tools or anything and people would get good product ready to go which only needs assembly delivered.

I have attempted to purchase items to send to people in other areas and I could not purchase them here to be sent there if the company was nationwide. Or they need to required shipping companies to handle their products with care. Let's say, you order a toilet for $142.00 well the toilet is delivered 3 times but damaged 3 times. You may buy something online, and they promised a delivery date, and they don't delivered. They tell you well call the store, call the shipping company etc. The shipping company say well, call home depot, we don't have your order. But home depot has your money.

Stop using your debit card, especially for that large of stuff. A credit card affords you better protection, plus when fraud happens it is the banks money and not yours. Who’s money you think they will fight the hardest to get back
