I did the math on a rent to own shed that was 14x28. I could have built four of these exact sheds for what all the payments totaled. In addition to that I realized how shoddy the framing was. The corners weren't up to code. No braces in any of the vertical walls and 2x4 used where 2x6 should have been. Completely unfit to convert to a tiny house which was what the salesman and I had verbally agreed on. I'm glad I backed out and built it myself.

He could have bought all the needed supplies and a framing nailer and given his friends 100$ each to help build it and still come out ahead of what he paid. Then sell the nailer and left over nails to someone else. BUT It's a lot of work to build it. And if he had no history of building such a structure correctly, I think the HD choice was a good one. And I've done both (built a shed and bought a Tuff shed). I didn't want to build the TS-type shed but needed one. After pricing the whole thing out, I bought the Tuff Shed (sold through HD). So I know a thing or three about it. (When I did my own build, there was no TS company (year 2000)).
Amish people could easily pre-build all the pieces and stack them up for a rookie who only needs to drive nails or screws at delivery point... I think that's a win/win. Amish don't have to use power tools or anything and people would get good product ready to go which only needs assembly delivered.

I only use my debit card and have been doing it since debit cards have been out. The only time I used credit cards were for less than two years when I was building up my credit to buy my retirement home. Haven't used one since and that was 6 years ago.

No interest and you use the credit card company's money instead of yours so if it's fraud they are out the money not you.

I built a 9x13 shed using asphalt roof shingles, cedar wall, two windows, one single door and a double door back in 2016…materials back then totaled over $2,000 but this shed is a lot nicer than a Home Depot shed and when I priced a similar looking shed from custom built places like Reed’s Ferry they were all around $10k then.

Home Depot customer service is not good because they are using a third-party platform named Arise. Plus, a big as home depot they need to stop using third parties shipping companies. Or they need to required shipping companies to handle their products with care. Let's say, you order a toilet for $142.00 well the toilet is delivered 3 times but damaged 3 times. You may buy something online, and they promised a delivery date, and they don't delivered. They tell you well call the store, call the shipping company etc. The shipping company say well, call home depot, we don't have your order. But home depot has your money.
They tried telling me they never received a $7500 payment to cc. I had the bank check and sure enough it was cashed and no where to be found. Stopped going to Home Depot after that. Also I could have built a better shed for half that price

I was a labor supervisor where these are made. You dont want one.
This is one reason I never use a debit card. Credit card is much safer because they don't have your money while the card company fixes it.
